Bought the mc Vities Gold bars today 2nd Feb 2026, they taste like trash now, greasy cloying, plastic fat like eating wax, disgusting Palm Oil ! Won’t be buying again

Poor quality!
Thin chocolate flavoured coatings. Dry biscuits, not crumbly.
So disappointed because these used to be good.
Excess packaging, shrinkflation is annoying enough.BUT this? They are in the rubbish bin!
Please sack whoever came up with this poor quality offering.
I will not buy them ever again.
That is how insulted I feel.

my friend offered me hobnobs (the oaty one) and it wasn't up to my susceptible standard. One bite was just a bite of crumbs, worse than a granola bar and overcooked sausage rolls. Too crumby made such a mess and didnt even taste good. do not buy, i will be advising my friend to stay away from them.

So I was gifted a box of Mcvities Victoria biscuits for Christmas. The packaging looked great and festive. But low and behold, open up the box and what an utter disappointment. Two thin separate layers once opened there's hardly anything in there. The biscuits are so small and tasteless. I was embarrassed to offer them to my guests. Basically all you are paying for is the packaging. Well thought out mcvities you must have made a fortune this Christmas on these meagre offerings. Don't buy these next year folks you'll be throwing your money down the drain. Glad I didn't buy them or I'd be asking for a refund. Total rubbish buy something better. Mcvities Victoria are definitely off my Christmas list next year. So many better biscuits out there

Victoria box of biscuits is a con.
Size of box compared to contents is misleading
Over sized packaging is a waste of resources, excessive and unnecessary.
This company may not be breaking laws by stating correct net weight but they are hoodwinking the consumer in thinking they are buying far more than they actually are.
A box HALF the size would still be too large.
In addition, their chocolate digestives are coated so thinly you can actually see the biscuit. Why bother actually having a chocolate biscuit range; not chocolaty and not tasty.
Our household is done with Mcvities. RIP.

mcvities digestive biscuits an all time favourite ,i still eat dunk them , but ,but, how cheaply they are made now ,remember when they where dark brown BIGGER now they are like very cheaply made digestive such as tesco digestive biscuits , food items made smaller,ingrediants cut down ,changed for cheaper ingrediants, and price increases all time , i am now looking for replacement to mcvities digestive ,im getting tired of this cheeper versions mcvities are selling ,shame on you mcvities.

Thought I'd have a blast from the past with a Mcvities chocolate digestive but oh my god they've changed so much they're disgusting. What happened to the wheaty crumbly biscuits?!

This are tiny penny-sized (1 inch) buscuits and 6 to a pack (33p a biscuit). It might have been better to call them Buttons, as thats their size, setting your expectations as you know how big a Chocolate Button is. It is very disappointing this Srinkflation.
I dont like the decite that the pack gives.
Taste wise they are fine, but would you really spend 33p on buying such a small biscuit?
I would spend more on it being bigger and a treat, not maryland cookie size but real cookie size. If your GrandMa made these with love - what size would they be?

Will never buy again or recommend a total rip off by reducing from 550g to 490g same size box for very similar price and lots more plastic to recycle not environment friendly and fooling the public buyers thinking the product was same as last year

We have just bought McVities Victoria Biscuits - 245g for £4.75, opened the box, first shocked by the size - half of it was just a plastic packaging with holes underneath making it look bigger! And then the taste. Oh my goodness, probably the worst biscuits ever! They all taste the same - like a paper when you accidentally have a piece of it with your sandwich.
And to make it worse - it says Finest Selection on the box. Well, if this is your finest, I can't imagine what would be the worst?
This is a big scam and honestly, they should just stop making them and close down the business. Whoever bought these once, I am sure they will never buy them again!

Total Rubbish, fake chocolate numerous unhealthy additives and small in size yet we're still being ripped off. I've bought my last multi pack of Penguin bars.

Tried the McVities Signature caramel chocolate rounds and am pretty disgusted by how cheap they taste. 'Signature'?! Actually laughable. The chocolate is like the cheapest muck you find in those super cheap pound-store chocolate Santa's, it's grainy, waxy, bitter just thoroughly unpleasant. If this is McVities signature brand i.e. it's very best product, then it is indeed a company scraping the bottom of the barrel.

The digestives are horrible.
I’ve been buying biscuits weekly from Sainsbury’s and usually have the biscuit pack of variety biscuits & rich tea etc

Been having Sainsbury’s digestives now since I recently tried mcvities and was horrified . There’s no salty taste that you used to get with a digestive. .

Sainsbury’s actually taste more like theirs used to taste .

Apparently they changed the recipe in 2020 prob during Covid so nobody would notice !

Well that and the gold digestives are vile.

Seem greasy but not in a buttery moreish way , more nausea invoking oily type of grease!

Won’t buy again. They are taking the enjoyment out of our food to apparently meet government guidelines and not be hit with sugar tax ?

Mcvities digestives are the one thing I will pay the money for and no imitation will do ..... Until now! I opened a packet today and threw them away... They are disgusting , flavourless other than cardboard and thin as a rich tea! I will never buy them again as I think Aldi and lidls are exactly the same. . What on earth has the world come to? Sort it out mcvities! You cannot expect us to pay sky high prices for such an inferior product!

First they closed the Scottish factories, then they closed the English factories and moved everything abroad and now they are selling us substandard rubbish without real chocolate. Penguins and Clubs are just the beginning and the Jaffa cakes are about half of the size they used to be with less in a pack but they are about double the price. I will never buy any of these products again. RIP McVities!!!

Well we have just brought a selection of treats and can tell you now penguins and club biscuits are definitely of our list. Not only do they taste disgusting but the colour looks like they are off. Certainly will not buy them again.

Can not believe how bad these now taste. Once a reliable nice tadtinh treat cheap and nasty now change your ingredients or lose customers

McVities Digestive are beyond awful, although no comparative drops in price. What has happened to the recipe, whoever is in charge sort it, I expect your sales are dropping through the floor. Does not deserve any stars.

Jaffa Cakes! Used to be sold in dozens ie 12 cake per pack like ALL bakery products used to be you’d get a dozen or a half dozen. I note now that you only get 9 cakes in a pack, also they are narrower in diameter ie smaller and thinner and the price significantly higher for FAR less product!

Shameful!!!
