Make large jobs possible at a fraction of the cost!

As an individual carpenter, MDF direct has enabled me to take on much larger jobs than I would have previously considered.
The quality of the products and accuracy of the cutting is exceptional.
I have saved my customers many thousands of pounds compared to what large bespoke fitted furniture companies quote.

Refunds impossible

Looking at other reviews of people who have requested a refund I have to say I agree with them.
I have never had a response to an email and I have lost count of the number of times I have been told over the phone 'someone will call you back later today' only for that call never to come.
The first board I received was damaged in transit and it took 2 weeks of emailing and calling for them to organise a replacement to be sent, and then only because on the last call I said I would wait on hold all day if necessary until they gave me a definitive delivery date.
When it eventually arrived the second board was more damaged than the first and was left on one of my neighbours front lawn on wet grass, despite advising them and leaving a note on our front door to say another neighbour had a front door key so it could be left in my hallway.
So, having lost a customer due to MDF Direct's complete lack of customer service, I am sure it will come as no surprise to hear I will not be using them again or recommending them to anybody else I know.
Although I am sure I will be told their accounts department is not at their West London address I will be paying them a visit the next time I am in the area if the issue is not resolved when I call them in the morning

I had a great experience ordering MDF

I had a great experience ordering MDF from this company. The website was easy to use, making the ordering process quick and straightforward. Delivery was fast, and the boards arrived very well packaged, with nothing damaged at all.
The cutting was accurate, exactly to the measurements I provided. Communication throughout the process was clear and helpful, keeping me informed at every stage.
Overall, a reliable and professional service — I would definitely recommend and will be using them again in the future.

Great communication & customer service

When we first placed our order I was a bit disappointed to then receive an email to state the product was out of stock, and (having experienced similar with other companies) anticipated a long delay. In actual fact delivery was only delayed by a day or two and they were very apologetic. We were kept informed throughout the order process. We did have a few issues with the delivery itself (all resolved on the day) but we fed back the problem and I very much get the impression that this company acts on feedback and is appreciative of receiving it. We would definitely use them again.

Order never came, refund never came, maddening customer 'service'

I ordered some MDF a few weeks before Christmas, during a sale on the site that guaranteed delivery in 5 working days. 2 weeks later, no news. When I chased up there were multiple excuses about problems at the factory or not being able to get a driver. Multiple days given for delivery that were all cancelled on the day. At some point it was too late for me to be able to put up shelves (and unpack) before Christmas. I ordered shelves from elsewhere. I requested a refund from mdfdirect and had the most infuriating exchange I've ever been in - I don't know if they have a bot that replies by email. My request was not even acknowledged and instead I got weird emails about new delivery dates. I sent about 10 emails saying I wanted to cancel the order (which I was entitled to by law), saying I would not accept the delivery if they attempted it - and still received mails saying "Great news! Your order is scheduled to arrive on X day". (It still never did). They finally said they'd give me a refund, which I had to chase. Then they said the refund was processed ... Guess what? It wasn't. I'm now trying to get a refund through my bank.

I don't use the word lightly but I felt gaslit the whole time - the lack of acknowledgement of the basic reality that they failed to deliver and that I had asked repeatedly for a refund, which I still havent got, and their strange emails. Surprised at all these good reviews ... Weird company. Meant I was still surrounded by boxes on Christmas day ... they had plenty of time to deliver.

*Update -- they replied as you see below, but i havent received the refund. I've checked my bank statement - nothing. They are saying its been refunded. They seem like such a scam.

Great customer service, strong product

- easy ordering process. What I saw is what I got
- loved pre dispatch confirmation to see that I’d ordered correctly. I slightly swerved at this point
- delivery was swift and safe. My slight change had been missed but communications were spot on and they did their best to make it right.
The mdf looks good and the colour is as I expected (matches kitchen).
Cuts were accurate, it’s all good but I’d recommend carefully thinking about adding more edge banding as it’s a hard thing to do yourself!

Ordered goods told dispatched

Ordered goods told dispatched. Advised by carrier delivery wothin s 2hr time slot. Then advised delayed. When chased told delivery the following day. The following day asked for time slot told do not have product. Backwards and forwards between MDF and carrier. MDF say they are having a problem with carrier, carrier saying do not have. Eventually goods turn up. MDF say they have referred carriage payment to refund department and promos to come back to me that day. No contact, now 5 days later ignoring my request on update on overnight carriage cost refund

Beyond comedic and unprofessional

Beyond comedic and unprofessional.

Ordered 1st jan delivery quoted at 3-5 days

Zero communication until the 8th where I’m told they’re out of stock and stock is due in.

Receive a text on the 9th saying they might deliver on the 10th but they also might not.

Text on the tenth says “we’re delivering today but because of bad traffic it could be any time”

This is a building material. Many sites are not staffed on weekends after 1.30 and for many they are not open at all on weekends.

This is way below the accepted basic level of service anyone should expect and I won’t order from them again.

Utterly Useless

Utterly Useless
We ordered from this company in mid December and are still waiting for a delivery. Their customer service is useless. Not based in the UK and just relay messages from the warehouse such as “we are doing our best to process your order” but you cannot speak to the warehouse or get a specific date for delivery. Have sent emails and phoned twice today (5th January). If you have an urgent job don't bother with them as their advertised 3-5 day delivery is a total lie.
