Delivered the job but poor organisation and timing
We were impressed by the regional engineer who visited the site and the competitive quote for the job. M&D foundations Ltd is a Pilling civil engineering company based in Doncaster who aspire to deliver pilling nationally but I'm not sure they are geared up to deliver elsewhere.
We contracted M&D to drive 21 x 10m piles for a large extension. Facts: the piles were driven on average 5.5m in depth - not the 10m they were contracted to deliver. M&D took three months to install the piles and ring beam when they suggested timescale of three weeks. Some damage to the site was made by their piling Riggs and by their operators.
M&D employ a subcontractor to install the concrete ring beam, their subbie is better organised than M&D and have some hard working operators - but unfortunately not well supervised in terms of organisation, timing or for materials delivery.
If you use these guys bear in mind they come from Yorkshire - not the South, so everything is geared to the travelling. Tie them to timescale with penalties if they don't deliver as they have every excuse in the book whey they cant come that day.....or week. M&D did deliver the job but -it was really hard working with them.
