This is my first (and last!) order with Minerva. I was sent the wrong width of fabric as the warehouse did not carry out adequate checks. Minerva then insisted that I measure and picture the fabric (i.e. carry out the checks they did not do). They failed to come back to me when they promised and I had to contact them again. They then insisted that I return the unwanted fabric so that they could recoup the cost of £7.98! They are currently holding my fabric hostage until they receive the return. A good supplier would have sent the correct fabric immediately. This has been hugely inconvenient and time consuming and if I was to cost the time I have invested in their failure, it would be far more than the £7.98 they are so desperate for. I sincerely hope that they don't come back with an bland apology.
This is my favourite online fabric store! I love the sewing community, and seeing all their makes, the craft club benefits. Had a fabulous time at the recent roll end event. Got enough fabric to be sewing for the next year :)
The choice of fabrics is unrivalled and quality designer fabrics too.

Wow! What a magical way to spend a Saturday morning….. literally in fabric heaven at the Minerva end of roll sale!!
I didn’t know what to expect but it was way beyond anything I had hoped for! Loved every minute and really hope you do it again!
So well organised and easy to find fabric by type… the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful, a team to be proud of, thank you all for your hard work.
I travelled from south Cheshire and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Simply amazing End of Rolls sale!
There was a vast area on 2 floors, very well laid out and signed. Hundreds of real bargains.
It was also super to meet so many of the Minerva team who were very helpful.
I can’t remember the last time I had such fun. And of course the joy continues as each length is sewn.
I travelled for 2 hours each way and it was worth every mile.

I visited Minerva on Saturday at the ‘end of role’ sale. It was fabulous, I found some great pieces. So many fabrics & patterns to choose from. I do hope there is another opportunity in the future for more days like that. The event was very well organised & the staff were helpful & friendly.

I visited the Minerva End of Roll Sale last Saturday and it was FABULOUS! This was a rare chance to visit Minerva in person as they are an online business. The selection of fabrics was amazing and my friend and I picked up some wonderful bargains. There were lots and lots of different types of fabric and also patterns and haberdashery available.
This event was extremely well organised, with lots of staff on hand to help. All the staff were so lovely and friendly.
I have used Minerva for several years now, my sewing is mainly dressmaking. It's always been a good experience for me to buy from Minerva. Any slight issues over the years have always been dealt with promptly. The YouTube videos are also very useful.
It is a pleasure to continue to support this family run business. Thank you so much everyone.

Went to the end of roll sale. Definitely not disappointed. What a selection, sensory overload. The amount of work that had been put into this event was unbelievable. So we'll laid out and the staff were brilliant, so helpful. The only down point was I didn't allow myself enough time there. Next time, hopefully there will be a next time, I will not have anything else arranged on the day. To anyone who couldn't go, you really missed out on some fab fabric at fantastic prices. I did manage to get a good selection of different fabrics but as always there were two that I wish I hadn't left behind. Thanks to everyone for all the hard work that went behind this wonderful event

What an amazing event. Missed the Saturday so went on Sunday half expecting to have missed all the best stuff - I could not have been more wrong! I got some amazing bargains and it was really good to be able to have a feel of some fabrics I'd seen online and was not sure about. The staff were marvellous, helpful and kind and it was great to be able to meet them in the flesh. Hoping this happens again in the summer so will start saving now so that I can splurge again.

Absolute heaven to be wondering around feeling the fabrics knowing they were all really well priced! For this reason I over spent, but have many fabulous different types of fabric for many more projects, though please do let me know when you have another one, I will make room.
I buy regularly from Minerva, highly recommend joining the club, this means a discount on all orders (not for this sale, everything was really well priced) and love their newsletters and members makes, plenty of inspo from these.

I’ve ordered from Minerva for some time now and always find the fabrics of excellent quality and the service good. I find their website very inspiring and like looking at projects from other sewists.
I visited today for their end of roll sale open day. What a fantastic day. It was brilliantly organised and all the fabrics were set out well. Incredible prices too. The staff were fantastic - so helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. It was busy but I still felt that I could browse at my leisure. It’s evident that there’s been a lot of thought and hard work put into the open day. Many thanks for a brilliant day and for all the bargains. Would recommend.
I almost didn't order from here because negative reviews regarding despatch and website problems have reduced Minerva's ratings. I'm glad I went ahead and had to come back here to leave an honest review of my experience.
The fabric and trims I ordered were exactly as pictured, and beautiful quality. Plus, the samples I ordered were a good size to check suitability for future orders.
I had no problems with the website or my order so if there were problems in the past, they appear to have been resolved by Minerva.
With regard to shipping, I love that they provide free shipping over £25 and the standard £1.99 is a fair rate. It took 3 business days to process my order (including the day I placed my order and the day they shipped) and Royal Mail took a further 2 business days (as the service states).
I think 5 business days is perfectly reasonable for cheap or free shipping and some of the negativity is due to people expecting an Amazon-style next-day service without realising the huge fees that are buried in the price of the goods to cover those processing and delivery costs.
I'll be coming back to Minerva again and again: a wealth of choice, great prices, fair shipping rates, and good quality fabric. What more can you ask for?
Things started off great with my first order, arrived quickly and as expected. However I have been waiting now for a week for two orders having only just today received notification they have been dispatched, however one of them, upon tracking, hasn’t yet been received by Royal Mail, “we are expecting it” is the message. I may be wrong but I’m guessing that much of their stock is with a third party company, this would explain the terrible delays, if and when I get these two parcels it will have been at least ten days delivery. Additionally the website is the worst I have ever come across, so so slow and crashes all the time. I will not be using Minerva again which is a shame
I've bought fabrics from Minerva for several years. In the last few years the company has produced it's own designs of fabrics, from bold and bright to as subtle as you like. My choice is bold and bright and I've been really encouraged by the kind compliments I get about my home made clothes, even from complete strangers. The prints come in every type of fabric you could wish for. If it's great choice of unique designs and looks you're after, I can't recommend Minerva highly enough. Kate Bridges

I placed an order on the 9th October. As of 15th it still hasn't been despatched. I had to contact Minerva for an update. Surely they could be more pro active in informing their customers of any delay? They could not tell me when my order would be despatched, just that I'd get an email. I make a lot of craft products for charity and need a reliable source. Unfortunately my first experience with this company will be my last.

They've always been fairly slow with sending orders, But recently have been even worse. I don't know if they're still trying to catch up from when their website went down or simply don't have enough staff to keep up with the demand, but orders are taking over a week to even be dispatched. Three times now I have been told by their customer service team that something would be dispatched by the end of the day and it fail to happen. Please at least just be honest with your customers and give a realistic timeframe. It just causes uneeded stress when I am trying to run a small business and fulfill my own customer orders.
The do have a great selection, and reasonable prices for most of their stock, but I think I will be going elsewhere from now on.
