Just received a pattern I ordered from them, it’s the wrong size. Phoned & they agreed they had made a mistake but they couldn’t replace it until the wrong one had been returned. Not particularly easy for me as I live & work in very rural Exmoor so can’t just pop down to the post office or to a post box. I guess it would be the same for many irrespective of where you live. Not a very customer oriented returns policy which inconveniences people for their mistake.
This is also the 3rd mistake they’ve made, I ordered 10m of stabiliser a while ago, got 1m!
Ordered a range of embroidery threads and machine embroidery stabiliser & got the wrong stabiliser & a random selection of threads, some correct, some not, a few missing! Interestingly that time they sent out the replacements but didn’t ask for a return.
Inconsistent & unreliable.
Will return the pattern, won’t ask for a replacement as don’t want to use this company again. Have already ordered it from another company.
Minerva used to be good but either have poor warehouse processes (from my experience) and/or grown to big without the correct infrastructure in place.
Also, when they’ve made an error, the customer should not be the one inconvenienced even more than they have already been by the error.

Ordered two sewing patterns but when the parcel arrived it had been damaged in the post and instead of the patterns I received a dance top! Called customer services to check not just a mistake their end and lovely man took over the claim from the post office and resent my lost patterns. I couldn't be more pleased with the excellent service I received. Thank you!

I rate this company very highly for the range of products available, beautiful fabrics, as well as their own 'core' and 'exclusive' range of fabrics (superb), the service and the excellent advice. I have become a member and receive 10% off everything. They also have superb sales where members get big discounts. They are not always the cheapest supplier, but these discounts make a big difference. Excellent.
Terribile,da evitare.
Iniziamo dalle stanze, arredamento vecchio, mobili rotti, carta da parati strappata, stanze non insonorizzate, in pratica senti lo scarico e la doccia delle camere vicine. Per non parlare della pulizia praticamente inesistente. Ragnatele ovunque, in pratica la pulizia si limita al rifacimento del letto e la pulizia del pavimento (usando la stessa acqua per più camere). Cortiletto infestata da zanzare e lucertole (entrano facilmente in camera). Passiamo al ristorante, ragnatele anche lì, tanta quantità ma poca qualità e varietà del menù durante la settimana. A colazione spesso offrivano i dolci avanzati dalla cena del giorno prima. Per non parlare di caffè, cappuccino delle macchinette erogatrici... Una cosa imbevibile. Per avere un buon caffè bisognava andare al bar della piscina (e pagare a parte).camerieri sono per lo più stranieri quindi è difficile chiedere qualche informazione. Uno dei pochi camerieri italiani presenti sembrava stare lì per caso tanto che stava facendo accomodare un altra famiglia al nostro tavolo (quando si arriva il primo giorno ci assegnano un tavolo, che resta quello per tutto il soggiorno, e segnalato da un biglietto che rimane sul tavolo). Per i piccoli è presente una sala pappe che però è troppo piccola, infatti mi è stato chiesto di lasciare il passeggino fuori (essendo sola con un neonato e dovendo preparare io stessa da mangiare ho dovuto lasciare la bimba fuori vicino al tavolo di una signora che mangiava per fatti suoi). Altra cosa negativa l'animazione sia per grandi che per piccoli. In piscina la mattina è assolutamente assente.la sera gli spettacoli sono poco entusiasmanti e si capisce bene che i ragazzi hanno poca esperienza. Il mini club (anche questo servizio pagato) è stato pessimo, i bambini sono stati al massimo 15 min, poi siamo stati chiamati dalle animatrici perché i bambini non volevano più stare lì, evidentemente non sono stati bravi ad intrattenerli e non sono più voluti andare. La sera c'era la baby dance cioè mezz'ora di balli e ogni sera le stesse canzoni e la stessa scaletta. Ciliegina sulla torta, la receptionist sgorbutica e l'insegnante di golf maleducato e altezzoso. Inutile dire che non ci metterò più piede e che farsi pagare per un resort 4 stelle quando ne vale al massimo 2 per me è una truffa. E sicuramente la direzione è a conoscenza di tutte queste mancanze

Minerva are always super helpful, full of information and insights about the latest trends, and never quibble about any returns. I could, and do, spend hours trawling the website for all the gorgeous fabrics. I’ve found other users are always very polite and helpful, I haven’t come across any mean or unhelpful comments.
Recently I wanted to find a fabric and Minerva customer service were very helpful and able to point me in the right direction.

Thank you for running such a fabulous pop-up shop on Saturday. It was really well organised, the layout was well thought through, all the team were super helpful and lovely, and all the customers were too!
My friend and I had a fab time, and it was great to see all your own brand fabrics in real life - I’d been mulling over a couple and was inspired to buy three. I am really impressed by the quality and choice. It was also really helpful to have the gsm on the labels - I’d love that information to be available on your website if you could make it happen.
Please, please do it all again - an annual shop would be fabulous!!

I have ordered all my fabric from Minerva for nearly 8 years and their service is always excellent, deliveries always dependable to both UK and internationally. Lately I have experienced problems accessing their website. They replied to my initial query very promptly and although they could find nothing wrong in their system they still continued to try to help me. It turned out to be my internet provider causing the glitch. I cannot speak highly enough of the response from both Customer and Technical Service teams over the past few days, thank you Minerva from a grateful customer

For the first time in many, many purchases, some fabric was incorrectly sent. Lesley immediately offered quick response to the return to resolve the situation. Also went the extra mile to offer a means of despatching replacement fabric ahead of receiving the return. All done with such courtesy and charm. A pleasure to do business with the company whilst they have such lovely staff!! Looking forward to my next order!

I've sewn off and on all my life, but since retiring now have the time to really get into it. Competition (pushing prices lower and lower) drove every apparel fabric store in the state out of business except one. Then their prices tripled but the quality/variety were poor/limited. So online I went, and ended up throwing most of it away as it was garbage. Next, 400 mile drives (each way) to visit family and fabric shop. Not practical, and they had limited supplies. Then I discovered YouTube's sewing community videos. Two names consistently came up when they said where they bought their fabric, both in England. I tried them both and haven't had a bad experience since. Well, except all the fabrics are priced in British pounds, so check your total in DOLLARS is before clicking that BUY button (it'll only happen once, trust me) to avoid the shock. It's not that they are outrageously priced, but that I have a tendency to want way more I need so pushed my $$ limit in the first place. Now that I check, it forces me to go back through my order and only get the ones I really really want...this time. Both places have beautiful, quality fabrics and a wide variety. We aren't doing "fast fashion" here at home, so I want all the effort put into my sewing to be "me", look good, and last. Minerva won by a mile for many reasons. Here are a few:
1) free shipping if you order over 100 pounds of fabric, and the shipments are trackable!! neither available at the other store.
2) along side the fabric you're considering you can see what other home sewists have made with the fabric, patterns used, and reviews of both. You can also ask them questions.
3) I am a SUPER fan of their core collections. On a recent video the mother joked with the daughter (they now run the generational store) about it taking 3 years for her to find a fabric base good enough to put their prints and name on. That's commitment, and the fabric is perfect.
4) There is a LOT of extra information and help. Video sew alongs, videos introducing new fabrics which includes any and everything you'd want to know about them, including pattern suggestions so you have an even better idea if it's what you're looking for.
I've only needed to contact customer service by email twice with questions. Calling was out of the question because I never got to the phone when they are available...translating time zones just messed with me. Their email help has been great. Quick to respond, extremely helpful, and go above and beyond any expectations you might have. I do occasionally used the other site for unique designs that are only available there. They let you know they have your order but then the wait begins....every day like Christmas Eve....excitedly waiting and hoping it arrives. I'm still waiting on an order placed 2 weeks before my last Minerva order, which arrived about 4 days ago even with one of my customer service inquiries slowing the flow for a day. If you love what you do, this is the go to place.

I can never see where to put a discount code. I shop a lot online and usually have no problems with other sites. I emailed and was given information. I still can’t see where to put it. I recently ordered 2 metres of viscose challis. At £15.99 per metre it’s not the cheapest. However, I adored the pattern and wished to try it. Unfortunately when I looked at it fully to cut out a dress, I realised it was very wonkily/shoddily cut at both ends and 16cm short. I took photos and emailed Minerva and asked for a partial refund or 1 metre of fabric free of charge. Unfortunately I had already started to use it before they emailed back. They said, that they couldn’t do this without me sending it back or they would just give me 10% off my next order. I feel this is not good enough - the standard of cutting was so appalling - I have never had this ever from any company or business.

I love this shop, it has an incredible range of fabrics and other sewing items. But the website is sooooo slow!!! While it's buffering for ages, I inevitably end up looking at your competitors' websites and end up making a purchase there. Hope you can improve this somehow as it's a great shop

order two bags of remnants the knits 5mt and the Ex designer and had them delivered to my young adult flat the knits 5m had quite a few pieces just 19 cm wide and about 150cm in length not bothered about that because in city bought ex demo overlocker and coverstitch machine and wanted to try it out before taking it back to my house but was really disappointed with the Ex designer one they was about I didn't measure 4 metres of cheap lace that looked liked my grans net curtains one piece of grey denim and one piece of cheaper range of dress fabric I been a customer for years had a different account but got locked out of email in 2019 so opened new account the past few years been slightly disappointed with things like the sewing bag got mostly feathers in that one and the quality of some of fabric like the stretch towelling this is first time I have sent anything back emailed company got the average email back so I looked at some reviews to see what customer services is like and they say it takes ages to get a refund so asking for a exchange and will be holding my breath to see what happens

got refund instead of exchange in one way I wanted to give them a chance by asking for exchange when printed out return form also I heard that refunds took a long time tried loads of time to phone customer services nobody seems to answer phone so had enough of bad orders and poor quality of some of the fabric and bad cutting of material and because if you can not get though to customer service quickly it not a firm want to buy from so deleting account

I would not recommend using this website if you want to receive your order soon!
I ordered a series of samples, chose the one I wanted and checked on line to make sure sufficient was available then ordered and paid. I later received an email to say that they actually didn't have any stock, even though it clearly showed as available online.
Three weeks later I'm still waiting, the material was again said to be coming in over a week ago and now it is likely that it will not be in time for my daughters prom dress.
Communication from Minerva is sadly lacking and I am very disappointed with their idea of customer service.
If you're in a hurry, buy elsewhere.

Every time I need to contact Customer Service I get an immediate and helpful response. For my last order I forgot to add the discount code and emailed to ask if I could still have it applied. I was told they would apply it. I live in the US and frequently order from Minerva as I appreciate the quality of their fabrics! They are my go to site for fabric!!

I ordered a metre of white silk dupion. This is an expensive luxury fabric and being both white and pure silk needs to be treated with care.
It arrived NOT wrapped in tissue paper as I would have expected but just bundled into a plastic post bag. It came out creased and the ends were all very frayed and unevenly cut. Very poor service from a shop that sells fabric so should know better how to treat silk.
