MK9Plus Dog Training Avis 612

I subscribed to MK9Plus after joining the 'meet them needs' webinar.
I've got a rescue that is quite fearful, dog-reactive, scared of strangers, that loooooves to hunt. As a first time dog owner, I was overwhelmed and emotionally exhausted.
You can find a lot of dog trainers, who make you believe that you just need to train more, correct unwanted behaviours, etc, but it just didn't feel right.

Max's approach is science based, and it focuses on the root causes of the behaviour issues, rather than just treating a symptom as it is often done in the 'traditional training' approach. It's about getting the foundations right, so that the dog can live a life that it's meant for them.
And this really resonates with me.

There is a lot of information in the videos, to give everyone the tools they need to understand their own dog and situation.
I think every dog owner would benefit from the knowledge in there, even if the dog doesn't have any behavioural issues.

I'm a month in, have watched a lot of videos, and it made me take things slower again with Tilly (having more rest days), I've implemented more scatter feeding and feeding from a sensory box, and I think it's helped my girl to be more inquisitive and more confident. She even started stealing the odd item in the house (like a wooly headband, or a sanding sheet), sometimes just to sniff/investigate, sometimes to chew on - and even though this might not be a behaviour that other owners want to encourage with their pup, it's a huge step for us, as it shows she's getting more confident and inquisitive.

Don't expect quick fixes, and I feel like I've got a long way ahead of me, but it really helps to learn and understand more about dogs, and to see the world through their eyes.

So I can only recommend it.

The only thing I would say is that sometimes I wish there were more examples in the videos. Max is great at explaining concepts, but I think more examples would help me implement things easier (probably also because I'm not very creative). E.g. this ist how to handle a situation where your dog is reactive, or fearful, how to de-sensitise them to xyz, whilst working on getting the foundations right in the long term
That said, I've not watched every video, so more hands on stuff might be coming.
And maybe some videos could be cut down a bit, but then look at my review here, I guess I'm just as bad :-D

Also, you can leave comments on the videos, and Max does reply to lots of them, which is really nice.

Very straightforward to join. The videos are easy to find and their content is really useful. Max is engaging and very knowledgeable.

Loved that I can now teach my docile dog to be a dog, having fun through play.

So many great ideas and theories, and a different way of looking at dog behaviour

I’ve had dogs all my life, but training my 7-month-old puppy has been a whole new challenge. MK9Plus has been a lifesaver—Max’s videos are clear, practical, and focus on understanding your dog rather than just enforcing rules. I have learnt so much from Max. Stuff which now seems so obvious. My dogs lives have been made so much better and fulfilling since joining. It really is worth the money as there are so many videos and advice to help our troubled dogs. Dogs need us to understand why they do what they do. It’s the least we can do for them.

I love the theory behind MK9Plus, the institute of modern training makes perfect sense to me.

I have used many of the suggestions to help give my rescue dog a better life. It has been a long process and balancing the frequency and rest times hasn't been easy as I feel every dogs situation, past and present is different. Lifestyle, breed and personality comes into play greatly and it is definately trial and error. But I have seen a marked change for the better in my girl.

That said, during my membership over the past year, being able to go back over and watch the videos that are expertly created by MK9Plus and delivered with confidence, knowledge and humour by Max has been invaluable. I do find the search engine a little patchy when looking for specific issues though.

I still have many questions relating to my specific dog and emails are ok in having some answered but as Max must be so busy this is not always in a timely manner.

Overall I have gained a great deal of knowledge and understanding from Max and I have passed on the details to others as I believe strongly in its ethos.

After nearly a year of being a member I would recommend to anyone who would benefit from a real, insightful, modern look at how to care for our four legged friends.

Max has opened my eyes to how to train a dog properly. With his great videos I have managed to navigate puppy and adolescence with my difficult dog. She is now a model citizen, her needs met daily. I reached out during a hard patch and Max was there to guide me though. It was so easy once I realised what to do. Do your dog a favour and get on board with this approach to training. You won't regret it.

There is a huge number of videos to help with problems which can arise with a dog. The explanations are clear and Max shares lots of ideas and technics. The relationship between Max and his dogs is clearly very close and based in trust which is a testament to his methods. I have written to Max on a number if occasions and his responses have always been quick and very helpful.
All round MK9PLUS dog training is good value for money and very good

Don't bother with the webinars, he's not telling anything new. It's not actually live and no one will answer your questions. And he doesn't actually share interesting ways to create outlets for dogs, that was just clickbait. Unless you've never watched anything dog behaviour related maybe, then you might pick up a thing or two. I wasted my time.

Edit: thank you for your thoughtful reply but I think you do know what I mean. The "event" claims to be live but it is in fact a recording being played. A recording is not necessarily bad but I just do not enjoy being deceived. Giving the illusion of a chat function that's not actually there, etc. Many people watching it were getting frustrated, not just me.

If you're attracting the wrong crowd maybe that's not a fault in the crowd but a lapse in your advertising.

You also tried to gaslight me by telling trustpilot that I reviewed the wrong company, when your reply shows you knew perfectly well I was talking about you.

It's a shame. I think you do have some valuable knowledge but you've built a bit of a toxic environment around it. It's probably what makes you good money. I'm just removing myself from it right now, and warning others. (which reminds me, I unsubscribed yesterday but I've still been receiving your excessive amount of marketing e-mails today... oh no)

I’ve been using the free content from MK9 Plus and it’s helped me so much in understanding my three huskies: Kiara, Tsuki, and Ginger. Each of them has their own unique perronality, and thanks to Mark, I’ve learned to see them as individuals — not just “the same kind of dog.”

I’m currently waiting to get some money together so I can subscribe, because I know the full content will be even more helpful. Thank you for sharing so much value even in the free version!
