Seamless/Stress free
I've used Mortons on two separate occasions now, both to buy and sell a house. Most recently, to sell. The entire process was seamless and made what is often a stressful time the complete opposite, thanks to Angela.

Not Recommend to elderly clients
Difficulty obtaining information regarding the progress of Identity verification, problems within the software. Hides behind excuses.
I was perceived by the Senior Solicitor as a nuisance rather than a client their Staff used dismissive remarks made to make me feel like a hindrance rather than a paying customer Extremely poor communication or help offered while onboarding, uploading I.d documents.
Overall, a disorganised and inattentive experience.

Martin Donnelly has been brilliant, providing excellent support and guidance through a challenging business sale. Not sure we would have got it over the line without him!
Very much appreciated and would definitely recommend

They handled the sale of our house we received regular updates and the process was completed swiftly.
We found the staff to be pleasant and professional

Couldn't have been better or more patient!
We used Mortons to sell a house to friends so the process should have been quick...IT WASN'T but because of the buyers solicitors, not Mortons.
Georgia, Michelle and Kelly and team on the switchboard (in fact anyone connected to this transaction) have the patience of saints and haven't been fazed by my daily phone calls. The whole team connected to this transaction have bent over backwards to accommodate and deal with the complete lack of communication from the other parties solicitors.
In short, I couldn't recommend Mortons enough!

Very unprofessional. Had a solicitor called Isabel but she was not in a rush to do her job. Simon was great but Isabel let the team down unfortunately and I won't be using this firm again.

We put an offer on our new house at the start of May.
We contacted Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law to handle the purchase.
Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law sent us the initial document pack at the end of May but they had misspelled my name. We called them and Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law advised that they would send us a revised pack.
After 10 days, Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law emailed and then called us, asking why we hadn't sent the documents back.
We advised Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law of what we were told by one of their people and were then told that they would not be sending revised documents.
Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law advised that we were to correct the documents we have, fill them out and return them.
We did so and delivered them personally by midday to the Seaham branch.
We had also emailed and provided all the requested documents, as well as ID to be scanned and forwarded to the lender.
This was on 7.6.2024.
Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law proceeded to dodge calls and inquiries by other parties, prompting us to have to call Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law and ask them to return calls and queries.
As we had heard nothing by 2.7.2024, we called Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law to ask what the holdup was and if they needed anything else from us to progress.
Paralegal in charge of conveyancing proceeded to outright LIE to us and fob us off with "These things take time."
We called the lender, who informed us that Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law have forwarded incorrect ID for my wife and have not informed us of this.
It turned out that the receptionist at Seaham branch of Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law must have dropped my wife's ID documents (or decided to scan something else) and then sent incorrect information to the paralegal in charge of conveyancing.
We went back to the Seaham branch of Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law and instructed reception (the same woman) what needs to be scanned.
My lovely wife was very kind and tried to give her an out and a way to save face.
The receptionist proceeded to be quite rude to her; she didn't acknowledge in any way that she made a mistake, she just said it wasn't her fault and tried to gaslight us into thinking that my wife had made the mistake.
After the reception at Seaham branch of Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law scanned the correct information and sent the paralegal the email, we had to practically sit on the paralegal for another four hours, until she forwarded the email to the lender.
The purchase of our new house is supposed to be in its final stages now and the realestate agency believes it will go through any day now.
I requested an update from Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law and got two responses.
One was an automatic response from paralegal's inbox, stating that she would be away until 29.8.2024.
The other one was a rather short email by a member of Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law, stating that the searches were projected to come back at 29.8.2024 and paralegal would review at that time.
Given the performance of Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law so far, I have serious reservations about the veracity of the last email.
Due to the delays, the property owner is asking what's taking so long, we've got contractors dropping out and we're stuck in limbo.
Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law have taken something that was joyous and exciting, if a bit frightening, and made it into a living nightmare.
Using Mortons solicitors / Mortons Law was a big mistake.
They have caused at least a month's delay, they have lied to us, refused to communicate with us and dodged calls from other parties.
This is not the behavior I would expect from an organisation that I'm paying to represent my interests.

Mortons were regularly liaising with myself, estate agents, mortgage advisor and seller’s solicitors to help me complete my purchase in good time. Amanda and her secretaries were amazing. It was my first home and was unsure of the process but they answered all my questions and made this process as smooth as possible. Would highly recommend.
I used Mortons Law when selling my property to rectify the title deed and the conveyancing. The service provided was exceptional. I changed to Mortons because the conveyancing solicitors I had been using were abysmal, inaccessible and totally incompetent. The contrast was unbelievable. Andrew Simpson rectified the title deed with efficiency and speed. He kept me updated throughout the process informing me either himself or via his secretary Beverley. Amanda McNabola was outstanding with the conveyancing side of the sale too, she kept me updated as the sale went through. I have no hesitation in highly recommending them.
I used Mortons Law for my conveyancing when buying a house in Seaham. The service provided by Amanda McNabola and Mandy Dean was exceptional. I changed to Mortons because I found the conveyancing solicitors that I had were inaccessible and at times incompetent. The contrast was astounding. They even stayed after hours to make sure I got my key on the same day as my buyers got theirs - along with the others who were earlier in the chain.
