Disappointing Experience with Drummond…
Disappointing Experience with Drummond Miller Legal Services
I booked a one-hour consultation with Lindsay, a member of the firm's legal team, expecting an in-depth discussion of the legal strategies, possible approaches, and arguments that could be used to address the Home Office's refusal grounds in my Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) application.
Unfortunately, the consultation fell significantly short of my expectations. Much of the hour was spent collecting basic information about me and my family members, including names, dates of birth, and educational backgrounds, despite my having provided this information before the meeting. I had expected the consultation to focus on analysing the refusal grounds, discussing the relevant legal issues, and developing a clear, practical approach to my case.
Throughout the consultation, Lindsay repeatedly looked at her watch, which gave me the impression that she was eager to finish the meeting. Although she spoke for much of the hour, I did not feel there was sufficient time for a proper discussion of the points she raised, the legal issues involved, or the possible approaches to my case. Given the complexity and importance of my immigration matter, I found this particularly disappointing.
During our dealings with Lindsay, she explained to my wife that she was not a solicitor and that she would discuss our case with a specialist solicitor. This reinforced my expectation that my case would receive further consideration from someone with the relevant specialist expertise.
Furthermore, when booking the appointment, I was told that I would receive a formal document setting out the legal advice and assessing the merits of my case after the consultation. Unfortunately, despite this being communicated at the booking stage, I never received the promised document. This lack of follow-up was particularly disappointing, as I had paid for the consultation expecting meaningful legal guidance and the subsequent written assessment.
Another concern is the firm's apparent approach to responding to dissatisfied customers online. Having noticed what appear to be repeated, standardised responses to customer complaints, I was left with the impression that individual concerns were not being addressed personally. In my view, such responses can come across as impersonal and dismissive, rather than reassuring customers that their experiences and concerns are being taken seriously.
I do not wish to generalise my experience to the entire firm or make assumptions about the quality of service provided by other members of its team. However, based on my direct experience, I was seriously dissatisfied with the consultation, the lack of meaningful legal discussion, the failure to provide the promised document, and the lack of follow-up. Overall, I felt that the service fell short of the level of preparation, communication, and professionalism I had expected.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Drummond Miller Legal Services to anyone seeking detailed, reliable, and professional guidance on a complex immigration matter. I hope the firm takes this feedback seriously and makes meaningful improvements to its consultation process, client communication, and follow-up procedures.
