I recently bought a BMW 520d. They gave me a good part-ex price for my E-Class. The customer service from Vicky and her team was excellent. My 520d was ready and waiting for collection as advised. It... Voir plus

PLEASE READ BEFORE VISITING MOTOR MILL – DON’T GET SCAMMED! (shortened for review purposes)
Car: Silver Mercedes A Class (HX70 UHM)
Purchase Date: 02/04/2025 - Return Date: 25/07/2025
I part-exchanged my 2016 Nissan Qashqai after ensuring it was serviced, MOT’d and professionally valeted. Upon arrival at Motor Mill, I immediately noticed the office was cluttered with boxes, car parts and industrial water bottles, this is unsafe and unprofessional.
Despite being told the Mercedes had been valeted and serviced, I found dog hairs inside and a missing parcel shelf. Days after, they gave me one that was broken.
Issues Timeline:
05/04/2025: Car pulled left while driving (tracking off); engine coolant light appeared.
06/04/2025: “Reduce Oil Level” warning showed.
08/04/2025: Returned car for repairs. Vicky was dismissive and rude to both me and my father when I handed in the spare key, I'm not a confrontational person so this made me extremely uncomfortable but I ignored it as I was made to feel as though I am the problem.
15/04/2025: Collected the car; told there was old oil in the engine that had now been replaced. (even though there was an oil service the day before purchase).
16/04/2025: Oil light came back on, Motor Mill collected the car again.
17/04/2025: Vicky returned the car, claiming to test drive it to her home and back to mine the next day to confirm the issue was resolved. I questioned why this was needed if it was truly fixed. She replied "we hope that this has fixed the issue".
20/05/2025: Reported a burnt toast smell from engine; later that day, an AdBlue system warning appeared.
27/05/2025: Dropped the car off for AdBlue inspection.
28/05/2025: Vicky said the system had a blockage, causing the smell and warning light. It was supposedly emptied and fixed. She advised checking with Mercedes about any recall. They confirmed there was none.
11/06/2025: AdBlue warning reappeared. Mercedes Liverpool advised Motor Mill should take the car to a certified Mercedes technician, under warranty as certain issues that cant be fixed by regular garages need to be consulted with a Mercedes specialist.
12/06/2025: Another warning light appeared: "Emergency operation in 497 miles." Dropped off car again. Jason gave me a Mini Cooper (CV20 FDX).
Mini Cooper DISASTER:
Later that day, I discovered flies inside the Mini. By the next morning, over 100 had emerged, with larvae and pupae eggs found under the boot floor. This posed a serious health risk to me and my two young children when driving, especially on the motorway. I took photo/video evidence, phoned Jason and I returned the Mini and received a black BMW (BV64 MSO).
Continuing Problems:
20/06/2025: Vicky said my Mercedes was ready. They replaced the AdBlue injector without consulting Mercedes Liverpool or myself and assured me the issue was fully resolved and no further issues would arise (verbal and written confirmation given to me).
21/06/2025: Returned BMW and collected Mercedes.
21/06 - 19/07/2025: Smell returned.
19/07/2025: AdBlue warning reappeared.
21/07/2025: Received another urgent AdBlue system fault.
I gave Motor Mill an ultimatum: either pay Mercedes to fix the issue completely or issue a full refund. As a student nurse with two children, I need a reliable car. Vicky refused to involve Mercedes, only offering an internal inspection or a return via the finance company, with a £0.25/mile deduction. Asked me to look on their website for a new car or refund. I declined their offer to browse other cars, as I no longer trusted them.
Final Events:
25/07/2025: Returned the car. Refund was promised the same day, but delayed for multiple days.
28/07/2025: Discovered the car was re-listed for sale at full price, even though I was still the legal owner and had not received the refund or finance clearance. I asked for the listing to be removed immediately.
Motor Mill sold me a faulty car and repeatedly failed to fix it. They misrepresented repairs, offered unsanitary courtesy vehicles and withheld my refund while trying to resell the car. Their mechanics were unreliable and Vicky was consistently rude and dismissive.
I urge the owner to investigate the staff behaviour and all the awful experiences customers have from Motor Mill if they're unaware as it's clearly not an isolated case. I urge the owners to send Vicky on a management/communication training course as soon as possible as this really affects the company. They have an awful reputation and I don't want this happening to anyone else. However, I am unsure if the owners are involved if this is a continued problem and nothing has changed.
DO NOT buy from Motor Mill. Their priority is profit, not people. They’ve shown a complete lack of integrity and customer care.
I just want to warn others!!
Rubbish
Had appointment to look at 2 cars we had seen on website.
Drove 50 mins in the blistering heat and traffic queues.
Got there found a guy who went inside then came out with 2 keys, he said..there u go! The first car was at the back jamned in couldnt even open the door properley to look inside, it was dirty on the outside. Couldnt really see the inside. Went to 2nd car, ok this was parked at the very front.yaay i thought could test drive this one...but...a dwarf wall was in front and i guess approx 10 cars would have to be moved for us to test drive. We opened the drivers door and could just about poke our heads thru to look at inside. The cars are so squashed together. Do these cowboys seriously think ppl will buy from them by just poking your head thru.
All who are thinking about going to this so called dealer, don't waste your hard earned money. Not once did anyone come out to see how we was getting on etc....we took the keys back the bloke said. Thanks. That was it. Pathetic place.
They gave me a good all round deal, good service
They gave me a good all round deal, my new car was clean and any snags fixed on time, quick in and out, these guys know their game and make the buying/ selling as simple as possible. AND they always pick the phone up !
Only bad thing cars are parked on top of each other, they need more space. Otherwise good service, good prices
STAY AWAY FROM THESE COWBOYS
I financed a car from this dealership, and while the purchase process seemed smooth, everything after that has been an absolute nightmare. When I picked up the car, the staff seemed friendly and assured me they’d handle any issues that might come up. They even said I could take the car to a local garage, as I live over two hours away. They also confidently claimed the car had brand-new tires and brake pads/discs.
Fast forward to the next day, the car suddenly braked on its own while I was driving. I immediately took it to a local garage, where they conducted a full health check with an MOT tester. They found an exhaust leak, but more concerning was the brake issue. They couldn’t pinpoint the exact cause but made it clear that the dealership had likely known about the problem, as they could see extensive work had been done around the brakes, pads, discs, and brake lines. When I contacted the dealership, I was shocked at their response. A lady I spoke with outright accused the garage of lying to make money off me and said that the car “wasn’t for me” and suggested I return it for a refund and they will just “sell it to someone else”. She then tried to justify not documenting brake issues in the MOT report by saying they were “verbally advised,” which is completely illegal.
I then consulted an independent BMW specialist who immediately identified the issue and offered to help. They even reached out to the dealership to explain the technical details of what was wrong with the car. Despite this, the dealership refused to cover the costs unless I drove the car two hours back to them, knowing full well I was afraid to drive it with faulty brakes. They refused to collect the car, refused to compromise on any sort of repair costs, and even tried to claim they were "BMW specialists" when asked about the specific problem. It became clear they were lying again when they admitted they had no experience fixing this issue.
At this point, their dishonesty was overwhelming. They had originally told me the car had new brake lines, pads, and discs, but then told the garage that the car had come with all this already done. This contradicted what they had said earlier. All I want is for them to uphold my legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which entitles me to a repair. I even offered to cover the price difference to get the car fixed locally, but they outright refused and continued to stonewall me at every turn.
Dealing with this kind of blatant dishonesty and lack of care from a business that should be focused on customer safety has caused me immense stress and anxiety. I have lost sleep, I’ve been worried about my own safety and the safety of others on the road, and the constant back-and-forth with the dealership has been mentally exhausting. I shouldn't have to fight to get basic legal rights met, nor should I be forced to drive an unsafe car because the dealership refuses to take responsibility.
This dealership has proven they have zero regard for their customers’ well-being or safety. I’m left feeling anxious, frustrated, and completely unsupported. Any reputable business would have taken responsibility and ensured the car was safe to drive from the start. Instead, this dealership has shown nothing but dishonesty, a complete lack of accountability, and a shocking disregard for the mental and physical safety of their customers.
I can only hope this review warns others about the appalling treatment I’ve received, so no one else has to go through this same experience.
Motor scamming
Just be careful when buying cars from this company; they put the wrong year of the vehicle to sell at a higher price. trying to scam customers,

Non friendly
Didn’t even bother buying a car. Guy working didn’t even try and say hello or ask if I needed any help. When I did approach him, he was so unfriendly and had a weird tone when asking what I wanted. At that point I turned away. Writing the reviews here I’m glad I didn’t go any further
No end of issues, get paper documentation of everything you're told.
No end of issues. Be wary.
If you do choose to buy make sure you have paper evidence of everything you're told about the vehicle, printed copies of digital service history etc. in hand before handing over your money.

Please avoid this place
Please avoid this place. My partner bought a vw polo from here on the 29/10/22. The customer service from the gentleman on the day was appalling, he couldn't look more disinterested if he tried, he didn't even bother to try sell the car or make my partner feel excited and special about the car. The car itself wouldn't start (couldn't even be bothered to check it before we arrived).
The valet on the car looked like it had been done by a child. The handset he didn't bother to learn how to use it and told us just to (Google it) when we get home. Just before we drove off someone came out with a watering can and poured a few litres of petrol in it in front of us, personally found this so tacky and cheap.
My partners reaction when we returned home after she spent £7299 on it was ( that was a miserable experience).

I recently bought a Mercedes and at the point of sale, I asked for the service history (as this was not stated in the ad). I was told to email Mercedes-Benz.co.uk and they would provide me with it.
Turned out the vehicle had no service plan/ history with Mercedes. A simple “we do not have the service history for this car” would have been great instead of misinforming/lying to us about it. When I later called motormills about this, the lady was clear and told me there was no full history for the car.
This should have simply been said to me from the beginning!
Good communication
What a pile of rubbish this company…
What a pile of rubbish this company is.. totally incompetent ill-mannered and bad customer service..
Tom Cross you shouldn't be allowed to own a business if you can't keep staff who are incompetent of doing a job properly. DVLA Ownership transfer us done online but you try to tell me you have done it when it's a total lie... my brothers car has been off the road for longer than its been used as he can't tax it. We tried to sort logbook but can't as your staff haven't even done the change.. bare faced lies... I have read the recent reviews of the awful cars you sell to people.. go's knows how you are still going.. this matter will be taken further...
I bought a car in October 2021 for my…
I bought a car in October 2021 for my son, a white Ford Fiesta 2012. The day after I checked the oil filler cap, there was white gooey stuff, I emailed Mill Motors as they don’t answer their phone and they said they would come collect it and a full refund would be issued. I asked if I could get a local garage to investigate and they agreed. On investigation it was proven the thermostat had been cut out, we popped a new one in and white smoke came bellowing out of the exhaust, which suggests a head issue, I contacted Mill motors and they said they would refund and collect the car, they were going to deduct money for the mileage id done, about 600 miles as I traced to buy the car also an admin fee which id already paid, yet they state they don’t charge admin fees! Mill Motors never arrived to collect the car and stopped communicating with me! The car was off the road from the day after I bought it for 2 months as I went through the CAB and trading standards and exercised my short term rights to reject the vehicle as it was not fit for purpose, I issued a letter before court and they just ignored me. I recovered the car to a close family’s friends garage and he took the head off and could see it had been recently taken off, skimmed and a new head gasket has been fitted, so he looked deeper to see why the car was blowing white smoke and saw that the block was warped, badly! This meant a new engine! So in a nut shell, Mill Motors tried to fix what they thought wa da head gasket, realised it was the block and cut out the thermostat out to hide it! This car was for my at the time, 17 year old son and he’s had to save money from his part time job as he’s still in full time education to pay for the new engine, so £3750 for the car and £2500 for a second had engine! He’s now saving to take them to court, all the paper work has been done, just the fee to save for now.
Heap of crap
Daughter and boyfriend brought a car 15th Jan costing over 4k with conveniently only 1 month warranty the gearbox went 8 weeks after purchase took to a garage and the list of faults with the car was atrocious. Contacted company and they were just not interested they clearly have no idea on cars and are willing to rip people off ..AVOID AVOID AVOID we are now going down the legal route

I had bought a 2006 bmw 5 series had it 2 days and the car was overheating I took it to the Motormill and was given a car and it was in a really poor state and Wasn’t keep up to date with the repairs then had parts stolen off my car why it was in for repairs and wasn’t told a really bad company and I would avoid at all cost
BE VERY WARY
Having gone there to examine a car I was interested In I checked the car out. Clearly, there were problems visible.... #. 1 rear wheel rim damaged so that it could never be balanced. #. Front end surround - below main bumper rail - was patently, obviously repaired badly ! Like a ham fisted attempt - front wing sections maladjusted as a consequence. The middle aged asian man in attendance said "It's in average condition thats why"..... 5,000 pounds price - for that ?! It was more than enough for me.... I handed the keys back in disgust !!! Don't you want to try it ? He said. I replied ..... YOU KEEP IT !!! It's a heap of trash. I would trust a spitting Cobra before these so-an-so's.
First time using motor mill car…
First time using motor mill car sales..seen a lovely used mini..not expensive as this was what I could afford..spoke with Vicki via phone throughout the process of buying..put down £99 deposit..they found a fault with the para sunroof and had this fixed by a mini specialist as they couldn't do it..I must of drove her mad ringing when I could pick it up..went to see it just to make sure I really wanted it..no one was pushy and didn't feel pressured to buy at all..I personally couldn't pick the mini up as my partner was away at the time and it was arranged that it would be delivered..a lady called Sarah delivered the car(I.live 2hrs 30mins away)the mini arrived spotless.. I then dropped her off at the railway station as I live in a small countryside village..nothing was to much trouble for them..it was delivered the 15th Feb and of course once taxed I went out in it..feels great to drive..very happy..jayne

Honestly I can't recommend them highly enough, if you're buying a car they make the process simple, and in the rare instances that you have any after sale problems they're always friendly and very helpful. I will be using them again in the future. Thanks again guys.
