My Daughter is allergic to penicillin, clearly explained to the doctor she prescribed a non penicillin antibiotic, but we got sent a competently different antibiotic. If I didn't notice we could have killed our child !!! So bloody dangerous. This is not the doctors fault but a fault of using an online service , we had to spend hours back and forth to the pharmacy and actual doctors to get the right drugs . Scary.

My urgent prescription for antibiotics has not arrived. Has been coming up to 36 hours and it is 100 miles away. Waste of time and unsafe.

Avoid, whenever possible.
Once upon a time, if you had something like a mosquito bite that had become infected and rather painful, you'd pop along to your local doctor between 8:00 and 9:00 am and he'd write you a prescription. You'd walk round the corner to your local chemist, pop the antibiotic, and within the hour you'd be beginning the process of recovery.
Today, and after billions of your money poured into 'our' NHS to improve it, you can't do anything like that. You can't see your doctor (anyway you have no idea who he/she might be this week), and you can't even see your chemist (it's all online you see.) So online you go. There, you are funnelled through something called My Local Surgery (which of course it isn't) and some other thing called Pharmacy 1st. No information appears on the bona fides of either of these organisations. A vaguely harassed looking man appears on screen. He can hear you, but you can't hear him. Instead, he helpfully types little messages to you. He prescribes some antibiotics and says they will be delivered to you tomorrow. You wonder if you can pick them up today perhaps, as the bite is really quite painful? No, it seems you cannot. But they'll be delivered to your door tomorrow.
Only they aren't.
Perhaps the next day?
No, they aren't.
And the next?
At some point they turn up in an envelope containing a crushed and torn-apart mess that reveals four or five pills.
My conclusion: avoid this 'service' if you possibly can.
Oh, and when you've recovered three days later than you should have, ask the NHS for your money back

We have looked into your consultation and would like to clarify what happened. Our records show that the pharmacist joined the consultation ahead of the scheduled appointment time and was waiting for you. We understand that you experienced technical difficulties and were unable to hear the pharmacist. As the pharmacist was able to hear you, they continued the consultation via the chat function so that your treatment would not be unnecessarily delayed.
We do advise patients to join their appointment a few minutes early so that, should any technical difficulties arise, our dedicated Customer Service team has an opportunity to assist and resolve the issue promptly. Had we been made aware of the problem during the consultation, we would have been happy to help troubleshoot this with you.
We would also like to clarify the delivery arrangements mentioned during your consultation. As we operate remotely and work with partner pharmacies and Royal Mail, prescriptions are delivered directly to the patient rather than being available for collection from a local pharmacy. This information is also clearly outlined on our website. We appreciate that this may have been missed when placing your request, and we’ll take your feedback on board to see how we can make this information even more prominent and easier to understand.
Following your consultation, your prescription was created and dispatched on the same day. It was sent with the intention of reaching you as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, there was a delay while the prescription was in transit, which was outside of our direct control and resulted in it arriving later than expected. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this caused.
For patients who require a faster delivery service, we also offer a guaranteed 24-hour delivery option. This can provide additional reassurance where receiving medication promptly is particularly important, whereas standard delivery times can occasionally vary due to factors within the courier network.
We’re also sorry to hear that you received the package in a damaged condition. We take this concern seriously. Having reviewed the proof of delivery available to us, the parcel appears to have been delivered in good condition. However, we appreciate that this does not necessarily reflect the condition in which it was received. If your package arrived torn or damaged, please contact our Customer Service team and provide photographs of the packaging and medication. We will be happy to investigate this further and, where appropriate, raise the matter with the courier to help prevent similar incidents from occurring.
While certain aspects of the delivery process are outside our direct control, we recognise that from a patient’s perspective, the entire journey is experienced as one service. We therefore take your feedback seriously and will review the points you have raised to identify where we can improve.
We’re genuinely sorry that your experience has left you feeling that our service should be avoided. At the same time, we hope this response provides some useful context around what happened and demonstrates that your prescription was processed and dispatched promptly following your consultation, with the subsequent delay occurring during transit.

Medication stolen, no refund
My medication was stolen in transit and when I tried to contact customer service they sent me a holding message and have not followed up. I have not received my medication or any refund for my treatment. Terrible service.

Great service, Royal Mail lets it down
Was able to get a video call inside 1 hour, whereas boots pharmacy first had no appointments for three days. The pharmacist was really helpful and prescribed medication. Payment super easy.
However, they used royal mail tracked - NOT special or guaranteed delivery, so I'm now 24+ hours from the consultation and still no medicine. The tracking has not updated so I am at the mercy of Royal Mail. It's also a weekend so I doubt I'll be able to get another prescription from elsewhere.
I'd otherwise give them a higher rating, but the choice of delivery service really lets it down. I'd willingly have paid more for guaranteed delivery - I need the penicillin!

Still waiting for my prescription. Still in pain.
Video appointment was good but I’ve now been waiting for two days for the prescription to arrive. Tomorrow is Sunday, so it’ll be Monday at the earliest. That’s another few days of taking painkillers. I will not use this service again and I will make a complaint to my surgery.

Really quick to get an appointment and antibiotics issued quickly. However due to postal service took 2 days to arrive, would have been quicker to have the prescription and go to the pharmacy myself. Also the description to take tablets confusing as specially issued even more tablets than recommended

Still waiting for delivery….
Had a consultation last thursday and approved my prescription straight away. Said it should be dispatched next day. I was notified that Royal Mail were expecting in Monday and i can see from online that it was not dispatched by Your Pharmacy till then either so already late. We are now 2 days later and it still says the same thing on Royal Mail so clearly my prescription still has not been handed over. This means ill be waiting at least a week before my prescription if not longer!
The doctors informed me this is the service i now have to use but i will be contacting them to inform them that this will not be reliable enough going forward.

We completely understand your concerns, particularly as you were advised that your prescription would be dispatched the following day and were then left waiting with limited updates from Royal Mail. Unfortunately, the medication prescribed was temporarily out of stock, and although we received the stock on Monday and dispatched the prescription that day, we acknowledge that this meant the order was already later than originally anticipated. Royal Mail subsequently experienced a delay in transit, which has unfortunately added further time to the delivery.
We also sincerely apologise that we did not communicate the stock issue and the resulting delay to you clearly and promptly. You should not have been left having to monitor the tracking information yourself without a clear explanation from us.
We take your feedback seriously and will use it to improve both our communication and the reliability of the service we provide. We are very sorry that we have fallen short of the standard you expected and deserved on this occasion.
