I had high hopes as the instagram pictures do look very good. The food is just average (thats not my main issue though, factor is better). First off, their delivery will leave you in the dark on the arrival but the first order was delivered during the middle of the day during a work day (factor delivers on Sunday afternoon, which is nice). The biggest issue is they just decided to sign me up and picked meals for me without every telling me in advance they were going to do this and then of course charged my account over $140 meals for 6 meals ($23 a meal for frozen food). I have now cancelled this service. I cant in good faith recommend this meal service company

I thought I had initially canceled subscription. Cancelling is not very user friendly. I didn’t place my order, so they ordered for me. Instead of my usual six meals they ordered 8 meals, and charged me $129.00. I tried calling via phone no agents available any time of the day. Sent an email asking for a refund. Meals haven’t been shipped out yet. Finally received an email reply saying I didn’t meet deadline, can’t cancel order. Food isn’t that great, and very costly. I did receive confirmation that I did cancel subscription early today. But have concerns from other comments they will order again for me. Believe they are a scam, BEWARE!

The meals were very tasty and are portion-controlled which is great for weight loss. What I don't like is that they don't provide a specified time frame for delivery of their meals. My last order was supposed to arrive on a Wednesday but actually arrived a while day late on Thursday. I tried contacting their customer service department with a phone number they provided, but received a recording saying that no customer service representatives were available to help me. I then emailed them, and they responded that they were checking with the shipper, but never got back to me to let me know what the problem was or when I could expect delivery. For that reason, I have cancelled the service because there are many other fresh meal delivery services out there to choose from. I have also used Factor, which have very good meals as well. What I like about Factor is they send an email the morning of your delivery day specifying the time frame in which your meals will arrive. Metabolic Meals should do the same!

Notably sub-par for delivery meal plans. Unimaginative offerings, haphazardly packaged, some meals unlabeled, unmemorable for the price, visually unappetizing. If you loved that Economy Class meal on your last international flight you'd probably bet OK with these. I give 2 stars because it was super easy to cancel my subscription.

I'm not sure where all these negative reviews came from. Metabolic Meals is one of the best pre-made meal services I've tried, and I have tried A LOT. They use clean ingredients, no seed oils, organic/grass-fed/pasture-raised when possible, and they taste great. Some of them need a little salt, but that's it.

For those complaining about subscriptions and auto-ships, you obviously didn't read the website or the instructions. It CLEARLY states that the meals will auto-ship every week unless you SKIP the delivery, which is very easy to do. Just log into your account and click SKIP for that week. And if you want to cancel your account, just click Cancel. They aren't trying to deceive you...you are just not paying attention.

For those complaining about small meals, #1, they are proportioned appropriately for anyone following the daily recommended intakes, and #2, they offer larger portions and extra protein options if you need more intake.

The weekly menus are full of choices and their customer service is great. I emailed them suggestions for improvements to their containers (black plastic) and shipping (numerous large ice packs that make the box heavy). They emailed me right back with thank yous, explanations, and a promise that they would look into other options.

For whoever said the meals are cold after their recommended 1-2 minute heat time, I agree. But guess what I do? I heat it for 2.5 to 3 minutes, and it's hot. Pretty easy fix!

They clearly mark their macros and ingredients on their meals and their website, so it makes it easy to track in my fitness app.

They are definitely worth more than 1 star, and if they make some small changes to their packaging, I'll raise my rating to 5 stars. If you're counting macros on a weightloss journey like me, I strongly suggest this service!

I have never written a poor review for any company or product...but, I feel I must this time. This is a horrible meal plan. They arrived with ice in all the containers; the heating instructions are ment for thawed at one to two minutes and it was still cold. Tasteless, like eating dirt most of the time....I cancelled after two meals and they even kept the second payment and never received the meal box. I cannot explain how disappointed I was with this plan...BEWARE, this is the worst food I have ever tasted and the biggest rip-off...didn't even get the first order discount I was planning and at approximately $10 per serving you would be better off just going to the store and buying cheaper and you can cook with any better taste then what was supplied...... I'm really sorry this did not work out...I had high hopes but they were completely dashed.

The food is very bland. Tried canceling through email and phone call with no success. The website does not have a clear way to cancel subscription. I'm forced to call my bank to block any future transaction from this company.

The meals are very small I tried to cancel I tried calling several times no one answered they have you leave a message saying they will call back Joke

i ordered these meals 1 week ago to "try" spent 80.00. i didnt sign up for a membership as i have done Factor75, Meals by Mel, just seeing what i thought of these ones. This company SIGNED me up and picked meals for this next week and chose double the amount of meals, and didnt even do a variety did 4 of the exact same meals! I have emailed and called and they told me I signed up and should have cancelled, mind you, these emals done ship for another week, and they wont cancel and picked my meals, it states right on there site if you dont order it skips, but this is all a scam!!!! i will never order from them again, have put a dispute on my credit card, and will make sure everyone knows they are crooks! i tried to do it the right way and reached out asking to cancel as i just tried my first meal since i just got the box 2 days ago, they are refusing and if they are that depserate to not care about their custromers they will lose me for life and i hope many others see this too and choose to go elsewhere. i have never worked with a company so disprectful, again the meals dont ship for another week, they took it apon themselves to order additonal meals and something i will never eat! run and go to Factor75, anywhere else, they are scam artists and i will make sure they dont ever get my business again. read their reviews, everywhere they do this to customers, i wish i saw these before i put in 1 order, they dont deserve to be in business and hopefully wont for much longer!

Terrible customer service! They don't answer the phone, nor return phone calls or return emails. I will never use this service again! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!

I have used Metabolic Meals for about 4 years, but may look elsewhere. Over the last 6 months or so, the meal options have started to decline. In addition, I get a lot of incorrect meals or missing meals and when asked for refund - they do not give refund for correct amount. I am not sure if they got new ownership or a new chef but sadly, I am going to look elsewhere for a replacement company.

Decent meals, and GF since we need that, but sneaky subscription tactics, beware! We tried Metabolic for a few weeks, ordering the minimum of six meals each time we ordered. The meals were okay, some kind of small portions so left me hungry. Appreciate the lower salt, but otherwise the spicing is very mild and not very interesting. Not gourmet, as advertised. I did enjoy the meatballs. My wife also appreciated the diabetic low carb meals.
Mainly, got burned by the fact that we missed one week's order deadline. The site does say if you miss the deadline they will send you meals they choose. I got distracted by holiday prep and missed a deadline by one day. They made out an order for *eight meals*, including some that were extra protein so more costly. When I called was told that the order had "already been processed" so could not be cancelled.
She did give us credit for the two extra meals. What they DON'T tell you until you cancel is that you can go on-demand, and that if you forget or don't choose to place an order they just skip that week and don't charge.
VERY poor business model, folks! You could be transparent and give us a choice up front to choose a "must respond each week" or be penalized, or an order on-demand as you offered when I cancelled. Your way of doing it is sneaky. I urge caution if you use this service and pay attention to what they are demanding of you!

Terrible customer service. Can’t even call and talk to an agent. Will put you on auto ship and not tell you. Website is garbage and not user friendly at all. Won’t refund you will only give you an “online credit”

Food is basic and way overpriced. Cheaper to meal prep at home.

Waste of money! Skip this service! I wish I had come here to read reviews first. Was missing one meal from first delivery. Didn’t realize I was being auto shipped for the second week because as one reviewer said, it’s very unclear when you need to place your orders. I didn’t get a credit for missing meal for second order because I didn’t know it was preselected for me. The food is substandard. The jasmine rice in the Kung Pao chicken has the texture of being pre-chewed. The burger had the strangest flavor and was rubbery; and yes we followed heating instructions. Huge disappointment, waste of money, and I actually lost money not getting credit for the missing meal because I will not be reordering. These “chefs” should probably find a different day job.

Signed up, selected and received my first batch of meals — no issues so far. Next thing I heard from them is my pre-selected meals for the following delivery cycle. Never received any communication about when and how to select them. I reached out about it, saying I would have liked to be notified, and they just said, "It's a subscription, this is how it works". No accountability for a poor user experience. The food is decent but very over-priced, especially considering the meals are small along with a $20 delivery charge if you order less than 15 meals, bringing the per-meal cost to about $16-17, and about $25 per meal if you want more than 500 calories per meal.

This place is a joke. Ordered my first week and everything was nasty tasting. I get an email stating my order had shipped when I didn’t even complete an order for the next week. Almost $130 for meals I didn’t even pick and they will do nothing. Just sorry for your luck. Customer support Kelly was not very helpful nor seemed to care about their customers. Their site is confusing and misleading so I would NOT recommend this meal service.

As the others have said and in other review sites, beware of this company's business practices. We signed up for the no-subscription offer yet got auto-shipments of food we didn't order. Phone support is simply a voicemail that does not get returned.

Due to this, I have to wonder about the quality and claims of the food itself.

The company has predatory business practices that leave customers receiving food full of allergens that they did not order along with subsequent large charges to your credit card without proper warning. Their phone numbers and email addresses are all masked. The phone numbers lead to a recording that says they’re busy and hangs up on you. The email addresses from these so called Account Managers take you straight to the general customer service inbox.

I did not sign up for a subscription. Subscription services are ongoing, approved automatic payments to a vendor for a service or product. I did not approve Metabolic Meals to take in excess of $130 out of my account without my explicit permission.

I refuse to pick meals that I do not want. No reciept has been provided for these good/services because I did not approve the cost or spend. I did not order an automatic renewal and did not approve the charge of $131.62.

The emails received this week from the company did not indicate there would be a recurring charge in any amount to my card. I have not recieved any receipt of this transaction either. It wasn’t approved by the consumer. They have an obligation to consumers to present clear pricing and penalties for good/services. They have an obligation to consumers to properly notify them, if not by law, by good business practices.

They blatantly hid details in their communications while providing phone numbers and contact information that were not operable to scam $131.62 from me.

Zero stars! I signed up for "No Subscription." I made one order just to try it out. Then they kept sending more orders that I had not ordered. They kept billing my bank account. I kept sending emails demanding that they don't send any more orders; and that they come pick up the orders that were sitting in my building's lobby that I declined to accept. They kept the money and refused to pick up the orders that I declined. I'm talking with my bank to get back the money. I'm contacting the Missouri Attorney General and the Representative for their district. Don't let this happen to you.

Horrible service, food shows up damaged, customer service are jerks and snarky. And even if you cancel, they will still ship you items a week later saying "you may have canceled your subscription, but you didnt cancel the meals"
