Great certification to have. I love the amount of varied classes they offer. NASM ONE is amazing and I’ve saved so much money utilizing that platform.

Truly some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. An NASM rep laughed at and threatened me over the phone regarding a name change request, while refusing to acknowledge the discrepancies in information candidates are given between NASM and their PSI testing center. At one point, I had an NASM rep arguing on the phone with a PSI rep because each party has a different understanding of the testing requirements. I had a separate PSI rep claim that the testing policy is "confidential." Go anywhere else for your certification.

The amount of knowledge they’ve packed into the three courses I’ve taken are so well crafted and explained, it’s the best money I’ve ever invested in myself and my future.

Easy to navigate the program with visual as well as audio options. Short quizzes and practice exams were very helpful.

The combination of a physical text book and on line with the addition of videos and podcasts made it less daunting

Wow, learned a ton of knowledge already. Passed the CPT exam yesterday. Starting CNC and then CES. Renee Pickett was my initial contact, explained everything, and helped me get started! Highly recommend NASM!

I like the online courses and testing. The manuals are well laid out.
I wish there was an option to print the manual as I find it easier to mark up a paper copy than using the tools in the course. Maybe I need to learn how to use the provided tools better.

It was very professional overall. One thing I had an issue with is I could not modify the test date after 24 hours so I was forced to take the test or forfeit time & money. I did pass the CPT but I didn’t think I was ready.

Your customer service is atrocious and your guys lack of communication, ability to make processes clear, and hopefulness is near nonexistent.

Your videos need to reflect the population. Use seniors as trainers and clients in the productions and in your voice overs. There is too much anatomical detail that seems very tangential to actual training. For example, the bioenergetics went too deeply into the weeds. Understanding the CAC cycle is not going to make me a better trainer. Also, the multitude of references is over whelming. Consider putting a bibliography at the end of the training manual.

If it were possible to give lower than 1 star I would. I had a very bad experience with NASM and their testing company PSI. I signed on with PSI and showed my CPR/AED certificates. Oops! My printer did not work and the dates and signatures did not print. I signed out and corrected the problem.

When I signed back in, the PSI software did not work. I could not even get to the point of showing them my signed and dated certificate. I spent the next 1.5 hours trying to get signed in with a representative on the phone. Eventually, I timed out.

I had prepared for the test and scheduled time for it. I spent 1.5 hours of my time trying to get signed in. It was not my fault that PSI’s software did not work. I insisted that I be compensated for my time and frustration with a refund of the $150 testing fee. I agree that I was asking for a lot, but it was a very bad experience.

NASM looked into it and got back to me.

Both NASM and PSI maintain that I could not take the test because I did not show my CPR/AED certificate.

But I had my completed certificate on my 2nd and 3rd attempts to sign in. The software didn’t work, so I couldn’t show it.

They only gave me a $15 discount on a $50 missed test fee.

I asked to talk to a supervisor and was denied.

My only recourse is to complain here.

My experience with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) has been nothing short of excellent! From the quality of the educational material to the flexibility of the program and the outstanding customer support, NASM has exceeded my expectations.

After approximately two months of dedicated studying, I successfully passed the NCCA-accredited Certified Personal Trainer exam. Earning this certification has been a rewarding accomplishment and another important step toward my long-term goals in fitness, rehabilitation, and physical therapy.

I am grateful for the experience and the knowledge I’ve gained. I would absolutely recommend NASM to anyone looking to further their education, strengthen their professional skills, or pursue a career in health and fitness!
