very comprehensive course and well-structured for online study. Covers a lot of topics and plenty of information for a new or old sailor wanting to learn more behind rules, safety, regulations, and navigating at sea.

Everything worked as it should. The course was challenging but not overwhelming. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in navigating safely on the water.

I'm 1/3 into the Day Skipper Theory course and so far I've found the majority of the modules very well explained and by watching the animation videos, it gives me all the information I need to pass the questionnaires successfully.
I'm excited and confident to complete the remaining modules in the near future.

The course was fantastic, easy to follow and navigate. The interactive exercises really felt like you were working with an actual physical radio. If you are looking for an fully line course I would highly recommend. The final assessment was done via video call which was easy to arrange. Honestly if like me you can't attend an actual class (not available where I'm living overseas) then don't hesitate, enroll now.

Great learning experience! Good combination of reading, watching and interactive activities make it easier to digest. A wide variety of subjects covered in one course.

I enjoyed the course and content. If anyone is interested in sailing, I would recommend this course. I think the safety aspect is the most important side of this course for anyone heading out on the water. Don't rely on YouTube shows to guide you with safety! (except Slim and Soph. 😂) Although, I love them as entertainment. Any difficulties are quickly explained after a quick email.

I recently completed the RYA Day Skipper Theory course, and I have to say it was a well-paced experience that allowed me to absorb the material fully without feeling rushed. The duration was perfect for me to dive into each module at a comfortable speed and revisit topics whenever I needed to reinforce my understanding. Having on-demand access to videos and resources was invaluable—being able to rewatch lessons until I was confident with the content made a huge difference.

Emails were answered promptly, which helped keep me on track. The feedback was thoughtful and constructive, providing clear guidance on how to improve. Overall, this course offered a fantastic balance of depth and accessibility, and I feel well-prepared to apply what I’ve learned. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a structured yet flexible learning experience!

Just being picky but I would've gone 5 stars if there was supporting material that indicated a complete legend of all icons and symbols shown on the training charts or at least a reference of where to find that information. There was some information but it wasn't a complete list.

Good training material as I did it on-line. Includes good simulator to quickly understand the use of a VHF radio in the right context.

A good option if you do not live close to an RYA training centre.
Good course content and contact with the tutor easy when required.
Some flaws in the programming and content let it down slightly.
Overall though a good experience. Could probably have done with a few more worked examples to lock ideas in, but I'd happily recommend the product.
