SCAM ARTIST, MOST Unconfident Business

I've never met a more unconfident business in my life. Once I left my job I immediately started the process because I knew I had to move, I would be moving out of state and I wanted to handle all of this in a timely manner. I filled out all the needed paperwork, had the paperwork notarized by my bank also had my bank fax in and also e-mail in a copy of the paperwork. I set up the appropriate accounts so the money could be rolled into those accounts once the transfer happened or withdraw. And then here's where it all fell apart my address kept being changed multiple times which according to this company requires him to wait seven days and if the address is changed again in the seven days I have to wait another seven days. I received several letters that my physical address or mailing address has been changed. I was not changing it!!! What was happening is every time I change it Newport would go in and change it back to an old address. Once I finally got that cleared up and ask them to please stop changing my address they claimed that I had to wait another seven days for security reasons. Granted it's been a month and 1/2 since this started I was already frustrated and very aggravated by this ridiculous process. At this point I've already talked to about a dozen different staff members at Newport which were almost zero help if not completely incompetent. I called back as instructed on the 7th day to instruct them to please cut the check and honor my withdrawal form for my account. I was told that they needed the account numbers which I provided yet again and the bank information. I got an e-mail saying please call us back further information needed. This process happened four times in one day, they have still not cut me a check they are still clinging or holding on to my money and refused to give it to me! They make up reasons why they can't do it for this and that reason which is insanely frustrating, these guys are the biggest scam artists I've ever met I wouldn't give them a dollar of my money after this experience but yet they're supposed to be retirement specialist and good at managing money. This outfit is a sham. If I ever get my money believe me I'm gonna tell everybody about how sorry this business is and how incompetent their staff are. I asked to speak to a supervisor because of the issues I was having I was told I could not! I asked to even speak to the team whoever 's cutting the check so I could explain my predicament and dilemma on why this process hasn't happened I was told that is impossible. Someone seriously needs to look into this company because they are a scam artist. The more they hold on to their money the more they're making off of my money that's why they won't give it back in a reasonable time frame. BBB has tons of the same reviews on this company! SCAM ARTIST!!!

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates this company and their unethical practices. The fees they charge you are outrageous and good luck trying to cash out and get your money. I spoke to 3 different representatives so far in the last two weeks and they all gave me different information regarding how to cash out my balance. I predict a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT in the very near future.

Over 5 reps telling you different…

Over 5 reps telling you different things. I was told all I needed to do was call back as soon as there was a termination date and they would be able to help me process the rollover, that was a lie because I called back the next day and that representative said oh no we can’t do that you need to in the website. Okay and you have to pay the loan off so you need to deduct from the balance that amount, I asked but that is my money I need to pay the taxes that’s all, nope, you need to pay. If you change the address it takes 7 days supposedly to update in their system, huh? How is this supposedly on top of handling money company take 7 days to update an address, the financing company I worked for it took 24 hours! It is by far the worst experience is customer service the training is horrendous whoever they have performing them needs to be fired. One of the reps even said I don’t have control over what others said to you, uhm, but you work for the same company and it is a standard question. Update 4/20/23 no surprise that i still can not process the distribution. I changed the addressmoon the 5th, waited until the 8th day, still was nto able to process. Called in and the rep stated that the address was modified from the HR Dept 4-12-23 without my authorization back to the original addressm and I now needed to wait another 7 days. Spoke to HR and they stated that it was their system that did it and I needed to go back to Newport and change the address again, so now I have to wait the 2 days from when they changed it back plus 7 more days....I realise they make money off of the money we have in these accounts but I worked damn hard for 31 years it should not be this hard to process.

Horrible customer service and it was a terribly lengthy and drawn out process to withdrawal my funds from this company.

The staff flatly refuses to release…

The staff flatly refuses to release our funds, asking for an address we were at 7 years ago, needs us to have a proof of address but we rent and that didn't count, endless bureaucracy for us trying to get our money back. Terrible customer service, they make it impossible to get your money out and are basically a failed business

My company that I retire from 2 ys ago…

My company that I retire from 2 ys ago put 700 dollars in a 401 k when I called and told them I wanted to close it out they ask for a password I told them I retired and I have no password I asker all the question than they told me I couldn't release my money even that I'm 71 yr old I may never see my money. And their people is not nice at all

I did a hardship withdrawal due to tough financial circumstances I submitted the required documents saying I had to have my funds by October 1 2022 and it was approved September 20th and I have not received them now September 29 and I have called asking if they could direct deposit or do a faster way and they have been very resistant and very little help.

Stay away from Newport! Newport is the worst company to trust…

Newport is the worst company to trust YOUR money with! No statement sent in last 16 months. I have tried for months to get a straight answer on where any current information is or who to even contact to resolve these matters. The customer service reps are oblivious to any resolution.
I finally told the rep today that I had no choice but to call my State Department to start an investigation on where my money and statements are. When I think of the Newport name, all I can think of is SCAM!! No legit answers and no one knows of a higher up to contact. Stay away from Newport!

You will never be able to withdraw your money

This company has the most unknowlegable customer service reps. They have no clue what there doing, they laid for 2 weeks saying they don't have a supervisor. Week 3 of complaints and finally they found someone. Now there is an error they can't figure out. My rent is due and we're going on a month +.

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had trying to withdraw my own money. I have been trying to get funds since February. It is now August 19. I pit in a request and changedy address. They initially told me that i had to wait 7 days after I change my address in order for my request to be processed. However, someone at the company keeps changing my address back to my old address and I have been continuously calling them to get my address changed again and each time they say I have to waot 7 more days and there is nothing they can do. Well, I finally got in touch with someone who sent me a form to complete and send back to them with a copy of my lease and a utility bill. I sent all of this information to them and it still took 2 weeks for them to correct my address in their system. I called after the 2 weeks and was told now that the address was corrected I would have to wait 7 days again for mu request to be processed. Well it has been 8 days today and i just went and checked online to see of anything has been processed and my address has been changed back to my old address again. This is ridiculous and all the while I am watching the money I am trying to receive decrease! Do yourself a favor and do not use this company! Save yourself some misery. They are scammers

I'd give half a star if i could. Good luck getting your mailed cash outs and good lord at the fees both monthly and to take out the money that is legally mine to begin with. This company is one step away from being a scam.

Company has awful customer service

Company has awful customer service. They sent me a letter and then told me the address i received the letter at with all of my account info is not the one on file so they can't help me...
The rep Markila also refused to give me to a supervisor or anyone else who could explain why they were willing to send my financial information to a random address (my correct one) if it doesn't math the address on file.

The worst financial company I have ever dealt with an advise anyone thinking of using their services to stay far away.

WORST customer service ever

My company moved away from NewPort Group shortly after they started using them. I didn't know why. Now, I understand. Customer service is second to every single company I have ever worked with in ANY industry. I have tried to get one form (that they are legally obligated to send me) for SIX MONTHS. They use a "third party" to send such forms. Worst company ever. They told me they'd call me back. It's been a week. I'm sure they won't be around by the time you read this review, but I had to take out my frustrations some way other than yelling at the horrible customer service people at NewPort Group. There... I feel better. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY.

HUGE SCAM

Huge scam.
After 12 months of paying $500/ month ($6,000) I finally realized that 80% of my payments were going to newport for various reasons.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! ITS A HUGE SCAM!!!

This company is an absolute scam

This company is an absolute scam. I have my retirement account here, and they will not let me transfer my money out due to a name change. They will not accept government identification which is the highest proof of identification, instead they require you have a gas, utility or water bill in your name. This is a weird, sexist way to hold my money hostage, and I do not recommend anyone use this company.
