North Uist Distillery Avis 

After drinking Downpour Gin for years we finally booked a Gin Tasting.
We had the most lovely afternoon with Rona, our guide, who gives the impression that she has a genuine passion for both the business and her islands.
The tour of the building was really interesting with such historic significance in the Uists.
The whisky production side of the building is a perfect miniature of those distilleries which distil on a vast scale, with all the enticing smells that go with it and the whole enterprise has a truely "grown from the Uists" feel.
We left the gin tasting with a greater understanding of the processes and work that went into developing these delicious gins (and I left with a post tasting-glowing-face, my husband with his 2 bottles to enjoy as the driver!)
We would DEFINITELY recommend this experience.

I have enjoyed trying the range of Downpour gin from North Uist distillery. We visited a few years ago on a trip to The Outer Hebrides and I have had several orders ever since. Great Gin in lovely bottles and excellent service

Negroni was delicious, very premium. Delivery and presentation was high quality. I ordered another for my sister and a nice easy gifting experience too.

We ordered two bottles won the Negroni and the second bottle was the bramble and sloe gin both we have had before when we visited the distillery last May and this is the second order we’ve had since being home the gin is fantastic and I love it and and save it just for me that’s the bramble and sloe and my partner loves the Negroni, thank you, Uist distillery keep doing what you’re doing just perfect

Interesting tour and fabulous gin tasting. Marketing and products are high quality. Also dog friendly and cater thoughtfully for designated drivers.

Visited the North Uist Distillery, and had a very pleasant experience there. I intended to buy a bottle of gin, but wasn't sure which one, and was offered a small sample of all four of their gins by an incredibly helpful and knowledgeable lady, from which I could make my choice. Lovely shop there, and as well as the gin, I also purchased some gifts to take home.

It was so easy to order online with my gift voucher . I ordered it one day and it arrived the very next day and the postage was free.
It was beautifully presented and personalised.
Really impressed but I haven’t tasted it yet I’m keeping it for a special occasion.

Always brilliant, products are so well packaged and often come with some recipe cards and/or coasters. Super quick delivery, especially considering the location! Beautiful bottles and great gins (I buy the original and the coast one). They are the only ones I buy now, so I like to keep topped up. I try to keep them for special occasions, as they are quite premium in price, but worth an evening treat when needed, or sharing with friends!

Rain or shine - definitely a place to drop in to, or even better arrange an organised tasting. We had a fantastic time in Benbecula, and they’re also dog friendly.

Very difficult to choose a favourite, but Downpour and Sloe and Bramble gins were great. For a pre-mixed negroni, it’s the best I’ve had.

Whisky on the way!

Excellent tour and gin tasting yesterday. Fascinating to see the developments, particularly in the whisky distilling.
Rona was helpful and informative and we thoroughly enjoyed hearing the details of the botanicals that went into each of the different gins.
The tour was excellent: Very professional from beginning to end and we learnt such a lot. And the gins were amazingly very different but equally delicious.
Thoroughly recommend a visit.
