They were quick to deliver but slow to pickup the van the next day.
The guy picking up the van wasnt friendly at all and said I didn’t need to do anything else. I am still waiting for my deposit refund.
I’m getting the impression that’s their business model/scam. Hope they prove me wrong

do not go with this company

I sent this co. a £500 deposit for a minibus hire some weeks ago, i never had a confirmation of receipt even though the money had left my account, despite attempted phone calls,( you can never get through), and many emails to date i have never heard from them, they are now being investigated by the fraud dept. of my bank.

I regret not checking Trustpilot before using NVR.co.uk — I’ve since seen many reviews describing experiences just like mine. I wish I can give less than 1 star.

From the moment we paid, customer service was virtually nonexistent. We hired a 9-seater minibus for delivery on 2nd April at 12pm, but it didn’t arrive until 3pm, already putting our 5-hour family journey at risk.

The vehicle condition was unacceptable: flat tyres, empty diesel tank, and faulty seats. We had to inflate tyres and refuel before even setting off.

Two hours into the journey, a check engine light appeared with an “AdBlue system malfunction” warning and a countdown suggesting the vehicle could stop completely. It was frightening. We tried calling repeatedly — no answer. We were left stranded to figure it out ourselves and had to urgently buy AdBlue just to continue.

Collection was just as chaotic. We were told last minute it wouldn’t be picked up on the agreed date but 2 days after, then contacted again by a different number on the new collection date. Throughout all of this, emails and calls were completely ignored by NVR just to validate.

Till today we still haven’t received our deposit back or any communication at all. No reply to all our emails and getting through to them on calls is impossible.

We don't even know what to do next, this was stressful, unsafe, and completely unprofessional. Avoid at all costs.

Cannot get through on phone

Cannot get through on phone, takes 3 days at least to receive a reply via email, not answering on weekends, paid a £500 deposit didn't get receipt of payment, no further replies to emails or answering the phone, submitted an enquiry online, no reply, now our concern is cancelling and getting our £500 back as no good hiring and insuring a vehicle if you cannot get in contact with them

CCJ issued and unpaid

So far NVR has stolen £1691.76 from me. This comes from two separate transactions, the first one in November 2025, I hired a large Luton van. NVR did not inform me until after it was due to be delivered that they were unable to meet the request, I paid £941.76 for this rental which I was told I would be refunded for, I am yet to see the money almost 5 months later. The second transaction was at the start of this month, March. I hired a minibus, which I had booked before November. The rental was fine and they even delivered it early, however I am still yet to receive the £750 deposit owed to me. I have issued a county court judgement against them and a warrant both of which have been ignored. THIS IS A DISGRACE, I will now be in contact with the courts as well as media outlets to make this right.

Absolutely fuming!!

Absolutely fuming!!! Ordered a 9 seater minivan to take family to our daughter’s wedding. Had a email acknowledgement from them. Paid the amount they asked for. Unfortunately missed a second email with a change in costs so they cancelled rental. No phone call or email to say they had done this. When vehicle didn’t turn up we have been trying to contact them to get money refunded. They never answer the phone and they have not replied to emails!! They have nearly £700 of our money and we don’t know what to do any more. Maybe this will get a response!!!!!

called today for a quote on a van / mini bus hire for 6 days for a disneyland trip in july

quoted £2000 so i laughed down phone as thats crazy money im after a transit not a bentley.

then they put the phone down on me for laughing as a response to the silly numbers they talk.

lincolnshire van hire quoted £700 for the same dates times & vehicle would recommend them 7 days a week compared to the clowns that work here

company is bad

AVOID!

Firstly the vehicle was delivered dirty and the Adblu warning was flashing on the dashboard. The delivery driver told me not to worry about it and that he had put Adblu in. On the way home the vehicle broke down and we had to get recovery out - Adblu problem. Now, 7 weeks on and I’m still waiting for my deposit and refund for the Adblu that we had to purchase. Consistently told by email that they are ‘checking with accounts’. Avoid at all costs!!

I will NEVER us this company again!

I tried to rent a box van from NVR. I had no email response confirming my booking, so I called their phone number. There was not answer to my call, I was on hold for over 30 minutes before the line got disconnected.

I tried multiple time to call with the same result. I then emailed them as suggested on their phone message, while on hold. I had no response to this either.

I then emailed them through their website again no response.

Finally I emailed through their website to say I was cancelling my reservation. Within a second I got a reply asking me to confirm my booking.

I did not confirm my booking as the service was so bloody awful!!!

I will NEVER us this company again!

I wish I had read the reviews before using NVR

I wish I had read the reviews on Trustpilot before I used NVR! The vehicle was not too bad and the system of dropping it off and collecting it was not bad either, but administratively their service is diabolical - it’s almost impossible to get through on their number and emails take days to be responded to. Then the deposit! I was told 7 - 10 working days but then was told that this is from 5 days after the vehicle has been returned. You’re supposed to get an email when the deposit has been released, but I only got this email on day 11 after two or three emails chasing it and then was told it could take up to 28 days from then! It’s ridiculous and based on some reviews I am not sure I’ll ever get my £250 back! That deposit is MY money once the vehicle has been cleared fit after the rental period! It should be a couple of days at the most. They have no right to keep my money like this!

AVOID!!! Unroadworthy vehicle and no deposit returned

AVOID!!!! The vehicle wasn't delivered in a roadworthy state. The warning light for AdBlue was on and one of the tyres had a warning light on. I had to pull over several times to pump it back up. I hired the vehicle in December and still haven't received the deposit back. I've phoned a couple of times, been left on hold for 25 minutes then the call cuts off. How this company continues to do business, I have no idea.

Very disappointed with this company and I recommend that you avoid using them. We booked a minibus for 8.30 to drive up to a wedding in Scotland. The driver called at 9 am to say that he wouldn't be here until 11am which was too late so we cancelled the booking via email as the phone number to cancel reservations put us on hold for 30 minutes each time then cut the line.

I was then charged the full hire cost because the small print says that I must cancel before 72hrs to avoid the full hire cost.

I complained via email as they would not answer the phone only to be told that the full charge stands because it's written in the terms and conditions (which I was never sent).

Terrible company.

Avoid.

Problem getting deposit returned.

The booking process was straight forward, the vehicle was delivered on time and was in good condition, it was a nice vehicle. When I went to start it I had a low adblue message and had to top it up, this is supposed to be done by the rental company, we only had to put fuel in it. The company said they would re-imburse us for the cost of the adblue as long as I had a receipt and re-imburse the cost along with our deposit. We are now 42 days past the vehicle return date and we still haven't had our deposit returned despite receiving an email stating our deposit was returnable in full plus the adblue cost. Despite several phone calls (they are almost impossible to get hold of on the phone) and emails I have now lost all faith in this company and wonder whether we will ever see our deposit returned. Use this company with great caution if you want you deposit returned.

Avoid at all cost absolute cowboys van…

Avoid at all cost absolute cowboys van turned up so dirty we had to clean the windows so much damage surprised it was roadworthy then to this day they have never repaid the £500 deposit (they no longer take a deposit but they will find another way to get money from you)then left the van sitting outside my house for 3 days waiting to be collected gutted I ever came across these rogues

Do not use this company

I could almost copy and paste from almost all the negative reviews on Truspilot as my experience is identical. Booked a van online. Received an automated reservation confirmation. I felt somewhat uneasy over the process and tried to contact the company. Suffice to say, no answer on the phone. I sent an email to emphasise the time critical nature of the hire, I had to pickup goods in Cheshire from London the next day. No reply from the company. An hour after the scheduled drop off of the van I received a curt email to say my hire had been cancelled. No apology or explanation. Urgent calls and van sourced from Enterprise to save the day. Fortunately I had paid for the hire on a credit card to their PayPal account so if the money is not returned promptly and in full I will seek redress and dispute the transaction.

Bad Experience!!!

1st hired a van in October last year and never received the deposit back hired another van and got them to roll the deposit from the previous over as I never received it back, this van turned up looking like It had been used in a destruction derby! Complaining but getting nowhere despite issues with the van, and from seeing these reviews it's clear I'll never receive the deposit back! Looks like will be taking a hot on the deposit again but will never use or recommend this company again!

Avoid this company if you have any…

Avoid this company if you have any desire to get your deposit back.

The van I hired was delivered late, had no spare (as the previous renter had a puncture and it had just been left in the cab) and was in general poor condition.

They did not collect the vehicle on time and three months after the rental have still not returned the deposit - absolute cowboys.
