I have been a dedicated customer of Ole & Steen since its beginning presence in London.
Although, the bread and chocolate cake has remained consistent, its customer service and management has not always been so reliable and exemplary.

However, if there is one store operation that I have started to see a remarkable difference in its quality consistency and overall smooth operation it would have to be the Ole & Steen branch at the Eccleston St. ( Victoria/Belgravia).
What a turn around.

I recently found out that the new management under Kyriakos captain 🧑‍✈️ supervision is to Thank for this transformation.
So thank you 🙏

We are now happily returning back to this venue.

Wanted to try this Danish cafe at Northcote Road annd buy the Rye Bread. Arrived at 0840 ( it opens at 0730) and kitchen was still closed ( late ) so could not have our chosen food.Rye bread great and coffee good. Cinnamon roll was ok but nothing special. Also the loo was unkept and without toilet paper. Overall rather disappointed

I'm a fan of Ole & Steen because of their superb pastries (the Cinnamon Social in particuler) and good coffee. A major problem is the limited seating in most outlets. The worst yet for me was yesterday at the Clapham Junction branch. It is clear that this branch is a magnet for people working from home, who come here with their laptops and take up so many tables for so long. We were on the verge of walking out until we were able to clear a space at a bar table, and we saw other customers look in and then go elsewhere. O&S need to sort this.

Terrible service in Ole & Steen Oxford this morning. 30 minutes to wait for coffee order. Not good enough I’m afraid.

Incredibly kind and friendly staff at the Greenwich branch, near Cutty Sark. Really impressed, recommend.

My friend and I met at the Wigmore Street branch of Ole & Steen. The store was busy so we were seated at two counter stools looking out onto the street. While it was ideal for people watching the counter was dirty and the staff showed no interest in cleaning it. My hot chocolate was watery and my friend’s cup was chipped. I don’t think that either of us will be returning any time soon.

I go to the London Wall branch for a coffee. as I enjoy the atmosphere.
Today I had a croissant which was not worthy of the bakers. It was rather unpleasant bread, in the shape of a croissant. Whoever baked it has never seen a proper croissant. They should try a croissant from the CoOp, as my local shop has croissants as good as the ones in Paris.

Stopped by the cafe in Lexington Avenue NY. Never again. Latte served was virtually scolding hot and burned my mouth. The Crossiants we had both plain and chocolate were all REALLY oily and creasy which leaves a disgusting after taste. Never again

I frequently visit Ole&Steel Fitzrovia, and I must say that the food is consistently delicious, and the coffee is superb. However, what truly sets this place apart is Gianfranco's remarkable hospitality. Gianfranco has an extraordinary ability to make each visit feel like a home away from home. Whether I'm just ordering a simple coffee or savoring a delightful lunch, his warm and friendly welcome always leaves a lasting impression.

His professionalism is exceptional, and it's clear that he is genuinely passionate about his job. Gianfranco's dedication to providing exceptional service and creating a welcoming atmosphere truly makes each visit a memorable one!

Click and collect from Hampstead shop clicked paid got the receipt made a special journey - they had sold it to someone else wasted an hour of my time. This happened 4 months ago (6/7/2023) same shop (Hampstead) to my partner from the same shop your excuse then was we are short staffed the excuse this time was ‘we are short staffed’ a low regard for customers Ole&Steen feel they can waste our time. They are so used to bad reviews they don’t even bother replying any more

I decided this morning not to go back to the Hampstead branch to buy bread anymore. The area is well served with a range of bakeries employing much more competent and kinder staff so I have a choice.
I work locally and quite like the Ole & Steen products but every time I visit the shop I have an unpleasant experience. Mainly relating to customer care. I find the staff somewhat condescending and badly trained. Maybe it’s their defence mechanism against the smarmy clientele or maybe the working pay and conditions there are not great, but I would still expect them not to ignore waiting customers wile trying to occupy themselves with other ‘pressing’ matter like rearranging cakes on the display, and being able to answer simple questions relating to the products they sell.
Generally I find the atmosphere inside the shop very disorienting and chaotic. I blame the management.

Ole and Steen in Guildford is great! Polite efficient staff, well managed you can tell.. introduced my friend yesterday who had not heard of and like me thought the standard of food was excellent.. actually eating freshly prepared food and a lot of it healthy! She will be retuning as will I! Totally recommend, worlds apart from your normal chain coffee shops. Waiting for you to come to Marlow! 🙏 o

I recently visited an Ole & Steen in Seven Dials, London and was made very uncomfortable by a certain member of staff.

I overheard a member of staff, I believe who is the new manager, calling the female employees inappropriate names like "Baby Girl" and "Darling" and I could clearly see the employees looking visibly uncomfortable.

Overall, this has just dampened my experience at this Ole & Steen chain. I work in the area and I am a regular female customer and I do not wish to visit again if this is how Ole and Steen treat female employees as I believe it's completely unacceptable, especially when the comments are coming from a manager, who has more power.

I visited the Wigmore Ole & Steen and ordered two coffees one an ice Carmel and the other a chi latte, the person who was making the coffee for me spilt mike on the floor and the other two members of staff where laughing. He got some tissue to clean the floor and then continue with the coffees, I was shocked that he never washed his hands, I then saw a lady and asked her if she was a manager when I told her what he had done, she asked the person and he said no I never washed my hands the other two members of staff looked at me and started laughing. I asked what they found funny. The manager told the other member to go down stairs and she apologised and said she will have a word with him. This is not the Service you would expect, for staff to touch a dirty floor and then handle the coffee cups. Absolutely disgusting!

Fantastic service from Anna in Northcote Road, organising my birthday Cake Man and a large Othello Cake. Both delicious and enough to share with family and colleagues! Collecting my latte and a pastry now an essential morning ritual. All the Northcote Road staff cheery and helpful. My only wish is for the Mormor bread to return - made the best French Toast.

Stand Venue its amazing.
They have a divers options to choose and everuthing its really delicious and fresh.
The staff really friendly and profesionla and there to assist with any questions.
I recomend the Strand venue as the shop its quite big and couzy and really close to Covent Garden area .
