From my first appointment to my operation all the staff were really friendly polite and informative could'nt fault the care I received I would recommend Optegra

You cancelled the appointment at the last minute because the operating theatre was “too humid “ This is the second time that you have delayed the appointment and it is simply disgraceful. With all the technology available why can’t you just get it right?

The experience was unexpectedly good, it was quick and efficient with plenty of information throughout, I felt very well taken care of.

The staff and specialists provide treatment in a way that instills confidence in the outcome, thoroughly prepared and excellently executed.on my second visit, despite being let down by Uber and arriving over 40 minutes late, I was greeted warmly and seen as if nothing was unusual. The outcome is way better than anything I envisaged.

Staff were friendly and professional, all my questions were answered. The surgery was done efficiently and after care explained well .

The staff were very helpful and caring but my first operation date was cancelled and i was not notified by text or email fortunately i rang on the morning only to be told it was cancelled. My son had taken the day off work to drive me! Also one of the staff called me by the wrong name and i had to correct him.

Team was friendly and helpful. The process was explained well but didn't get a follow up appointment that was promised to check on the progress of the eye healing. I would recommend to others.

I would honestly have given 2.5 stars if Trustpilot allowed it. While my actual surgery went well and, thankfully, there were no issues with the procedure itself, my overall experience with Optegra was let down by poor communication between staff and patients and what I felt was disappointing aftercare.

I was originally booked for my consultation on Tuesday 11th August at 2:15pm. I received no call to let me know that the surgeon was running late. After chasing this up myself, I was told that the surgeon would contact me approximately 45 minutes later.

On the day of my surgery, 17th August, the receptionist was unaware that my appointment had been rescheduled to an earlier time of 12:30pm. The surgeon was also running late again, and I eventually went into theatre at around 2:15pm.

The following day, I experienced significant dryness and discomfort in my eyes, so I was booked in to see the optometrist. Fortunately, everything was fine and I was advised that I was experiencing dry eyes. I was told to use my drops more frequently than originally instructed and to book another appointment for a week later.

Unfortunately, the receptionist was unable to book this follow-up appointment at the time and said that someone would contact me to arrange it. This never happened, so I was left to chase things up myself.

As I had been advised to use the eye drops more frequently due to the gritty and dry sensation I was experiencing, I finished the supplied drops sooner than expected. I contacted the aftercare team to request additional drops, as I had understood that this would be covered as part of the aftercare. I was instead advised to go to my local pharmacy and purchase them myself.

This was disappointing, particularly as I had paid for the procedure and had been told that follow-ups and prescriptions were included for 12 months following surgery. I appreciate that the clinical side of my care was ultimately reassuring, but I expected much better communication and continuity of aftercare.

Overall, my experience has been mixed. The surgery itself was thankfully fine, but the organisation, communication and aftercare did not meet the level I expected from a private healthcare provider.

Fast and friendly service

Had two procedures in July (YAG laser) and August (cataract). Both were quickly organised and straightforward with great results. Only improvement would be easier admin with my company PMI but didn't impact my overall positive experience.

I was referred to Optegra for NHS cataract surgery, and I am so glad I was. The waiting time was much shorter than expected and the standard of care was outstanding. Efficient, kind, and professional throughout.

The minute you walk in you get the feeling of friendly professionalism which helps to put you at ease. The whole procedure is carried out in a quiet efficient way so when it comes to the actual surgery you know you're in good hands and feel safe.

I felt at ease from the start to getting my eye operation the staff were lovely and friendly and answered any questions that you are worried about i would definitely recommend the practice.

In July this year I had lens replacement surgery to both eyes. The staff have been fantastic, so supporting and reassuring. The surgery was painless. The surgeon was reassuring and put me at ease throughout the surgery. He explained everything he was doing during the procedure. The surgery was a total success. It is sooooo good to be able to see again without wearing glasses.
Post surgery aftercare is very important to me. Since having surgery the aftercare has been fabulous. I have regular aftercare appointments to monitor my progress. The aftercare package is very good. Medications and eye lubricants are all included in the cost of the surgery.

Straight forward appointment, no undue waiting and surgery performed quickly.
Pleased with result.
