My second visit. Again all involved were well organised and compassionate throughout. The results of both operations are amazing with no complications.
The only improvements, that would be nice but not essential, I’d like to suggest are:
A. Tinted eye patches especially on bright days as it is difficult to wear sunglasses over the patch provided.
B. Perhaps a video or pamphlet of what to expect during the procedure.
Not withstanding the above I would highly recommend Optegra

For myself who was very nervous it is nothing to worry about & the result is wonderful .

I would recommend Optegra to anyone having eye surgery. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They talk you through everything that is going to happen. Very relaxing and pleasant surroundings too! I’ve had cataracts removed from both eyes, with no issues post op.

Short waiting list. Very efficient. Staff caring professional and friendly. Consultant brilliant.

From the first cataract operation to the second, the whole process was excellent. It was friendly, helpful, relaxing and the information was explained very well. The process was easy, and the care was top class. Just keep doing what you are doing.

Highly efficient operation. Friendly and competent staff. There was a small issue of miscommunication between Optegra and Boots regarding referral for my left eye. I have experienced difficulty in my day to day activity due to the significant gap between the operation on my eyes.

I have glaucoma in both eyes, it’s a recent diagnosis, it’s been a lot to deal with my pressures are quite high. From the 1st referral to optegra in Manchester I have been given the run around.

The first appointment was an assessment the clinician tested the pressure in my eyes. The left was 34 and the right was 26 so very high. After the test the clinician sent me home without informing a doctor and just told me not to worry.

Needless to say I was very concerned, because at that point I had not been given any medication to manage the pressure. So I went back the next day to tell them my concerns. I spoke to the woman on the front desk the same woman that always sits there and told her my worries, she said, “ well I can’t do anything about it” as though I’d ask a receptionist to prescribe medication. She was so dismissive. As I was walking out a very kind clinician asked me what the issue was so I told him and he intervened looked at my records and apologised saying the person who did the test should not have sent me home. He then was so kind he went to inform the doctor who asked me to come back later that day, when I returned the doctor did a full scan and prescribed medication with drops to keep the pressure in check until they could organise an Slt treatment. I am so grateful to the clinician who intervened. Really DISAPPOINTED with the attitude of the receptionist.

So an appointment was made for me 2 weeks later for the Slt, however to my disappointment this appointment was cancelled the night before the procedure with an explanation that the original doctor had left and they are waiting for another one to start. Do they only have one doctor?

So they arranged another appointment for me 2 weeks later, which was today. I arranged all my affairs to be ready for this appointment, and again to my deep DISAPPOINTMENT it was cancelled again 2 hrs before I was due to attend. I went to the clinic to ask why, and had to speak to the same receptionist who again was dismissive not even apologising just saying there’s nothing she can do you’ll be called for another appointment soon, I asked if I could speak to a doctor or someone in charge she said no we are too busy. Who is this person is she the boss? I am so DISAPPOINTED

Great care was taken of my frail father.

From my first enquiry right through assessment, procedure and follow up I felt well informed by the polite and knowledgeable staff. Questions answers and any fears laid to rest, really is the best thing I've had done

The whole thing was made easier by all the staff. Everything was explained step by step so there were no unwanted surprises! My second procedure is in 2 weeks- how quick is that!!!

Everything,right from going into the premises,all staff were very friendly and helpful,so I must say I will definitely recommend Optegra, to anyone that’s considering going if for eye surgery definitely

However I very unhappy and upset that no one at any stage told me that I would become longsighted as a result of the operation
