Initially, I was a little sceptical of PA Surveyors method of carrying out a full survey and then presenting me the info in a zoom call the next day as I liked the idea of having a large written report to refer to. Fortunately, I went with the multiple excellent reviews that Iain receives online and appointed him to carry out a full survey on a 3 bed, detached property I am purchasing...I was not disappointed. The survey he carried out was extremely thorough and relevant to my specific concerns. He took 2/300 photos and went through pretty much all of them in an extremely detailed and helpful zoom call the next day. I took copious notes during the call but he also records the call from his end and forwards the video file on with a maintenance guide afterwards so the notes aren't necessary. This method works out very cost effective and saves time both ends as I am sure having to produce a full written report is very time intensive and where the majority of the costs stem from. You can, of course, opt to receive the full report at a fixed cost, if you wish or you can take him up on his offer to write a report on any specific issues that are relevant to your sale at a very reasonable hourly rate. You are not under any pressure to take either of these options. I found the presentation was so detailed and presented so clearly that I did not need any further work produced. Ian is extremely knowledgeable of his industry and even recommends solutions and products that may allay any issues that arise. All in all, brilliant, very professional and how all surveys should be carried out. Thank you Iain.

Very professional service with good communication throughout.

I didn't need a surveyor for a mortgage valuation but simply someone to review the property I was interested to buy to check for any serious (or not so serious) defects that I should be aware of before exchanging contracts.
PA Surveyors gave a thorough review that was detailed but also explained in a simple and useful way. The biggest advantage to me was that I didn't need a formal written report so could take the discounted video call option that meant the overall cost was very reasonable. They provided all photos and even a recording of the video call for my ongoing records.

Iain’s survey of our new house was painstakingly thorough. As part of the survey he took more than 270 photos. He then spent an hour going through the photos, explaining clearly the significance of the problems he had found. Most of the problems were the sort of defects that you expect to find in a 110-year old house. A couple, though, needed immediate attention. Iain gave us a very fair and balanced picture of what we were letting ourselves in for. Highly recommended.

The survey that Iain did was very thorough. The verbal review of the photos was excellent and every issue was explained. The written report covered all the issues raised by the verbal review. We were very pleased with the survey and would use Iain again.
