I am a Director of an owners company…

I am a Director of an owners company that works with Penina to manage a complex of 10 apartments in Porthtowan.

We’ve been owners of one of these apartments for the last 10 years and, throughout this time, Penina have provided fantastic support in the management of the development.

They ensure that we comply with legislative requirements, use their local knowledge to both source and manage suppliers, provide the structure with AGM’s, minutes, financial management and submission of annual accounts etc ..

Whenever we’ve had a need to contact them on ad hoc issues they’ve been responsive and supportive.

I really value the guidance and the care they take in managing our development.

Penina manage the block of flats in…

Penina manage the block of flats in which we have a property. The building is always well maintained and spotlessly clean and Penina are always very responsive to any issues that we raise.

Great Support Team

I have, for the last 8 years, been a voluntary director of an owners’ company responsible for the management of a complex of 23 apartments in Newquay.

During that time we have used Penina Property Management as our support agency. They have have, amongst a wider range of services, provided:
Administrative support,
Coordinated our on site cleaning, grounds keeping, insurance, fire inspectors and other regular service contractors
Monitored our budgets and cash flow and provided useful financial data for routine use and AGM meetings
Obtained tenders for repairs / maintenance and instructed successful contractors on our behalf
Signposted us to sources of specialist advice such as solicitors and technical experts
They have provided these services to a high standard with staff who have been unfailingly pleasant and helpful.

Having said all that, the service I have found most useful has been the provision of advice and guidance on a wide range of issues using their knowledge of property management systems / law and their local networks.

This has helped us, as a group of owners with no prior property management experience, to navigate both routine and exceptional issues and avoided both wasting property owners monies or significant conflict between apartment owners over lease issues.

I therefore recommend the Penina Properties team to anyone who has responsibility for properties in the Cornwall areas.

Outstanding service and support

Penina is undoubtedly the most impressive, supportive managing agent I’ve come across. Their business model allows the individual property owners to be involved in decision-making, meaning big decisions are not taken out of our control and our service charges remain at a level we are comfortable with. Their own rates are also very competitive and everything is wholly transparent. We have felt fully informed and supported throughout and find the service to be prompt, efficient and friendly, whether that’s face to face, on the telephone or via email. This is how all managing agents should operate.

Best service in over 25 years of using others

I’ve both used managing agents personally over many years and invested in a national business until it’s sale a few years ago - and Penina is the stand out performer based on my 25 years of using firms of their nature. Privately owned and managed we are in our first year or so of using Penina to manage a 28-apartment site and the service is professional, consistent and impressive. Highly recommend.

Penina Properties -top class property management

I have had dealings with Penina Properties for seven years relating to their property management services. They have always proven professional, efficient and courteous. All of their staff members whom I have had dealings with have dealt with issues quickly and effectively and have always been friendly and helpful

Penina property management Newquay - Avoid this awful company

This is Penina property management based in Newquay (not the wedding people), operating in the south west and associated with Acorn Property Group properties. Penina make the residents do the work of managing the properties, including preparing budgets, whilst they sit back and do nothing, but still charging a fee. I cannot believe what they’re doing is normal practice (is it even legal?) but I intend to find out. If you try to challenge their methods their response is hostile. They do not accept any criticism. Penina claim that their method (of making the residents do the managing) works well at their other sites. Really? Acorn property group appoint Penina to property manage their south west sites so anyone who has bought an Acorn property will be stuck (for now) with Penina and probably unhappily, so please review. I intend to place a review on the Acorn property group page to register my unhappiness with their choice of property management company.
