I've been using Pickup Music for over two years and I'm really happy with it. I wanted a better understanding of guitar and started with the CAGED pathway, it took time and effort but I noticed that at the end of the course I was much better at figuring out a song by ear and I suddenly understood that the same note, same solo or riff could be played in different parts of the guitar.
I love how organised and well structured the lessons are and I've also been sending performance pieces and receiving insightful feedback from pro guitarists. Now they added piano to the instruments you can learn and I started doing those lessons too, which are included in my original subscription. So they have great content and amazing teachers, lots of different music styles, zoom calls with live lessons and so much more, they definitely deserve 5 stars.

I can’t say enough good things about pick up!! Love it, I’ve learned so much. The instructors and people who run this site seem to really care about teaching!! I play guitar but I’ve now started piano lessons too, which I am loving!! It’s helped me to understand the guitar better too!! Peace and love pick up, keep up the great work!!!

Very good online lessons. I was taking lessons at the School of Rock, however these lessons allow me to replay the lesson (sometimes 3-4 times) and slow down the band performances so that I can play along. I'm a retired university professor. This is my biggest hobby now and I'm at the intermediate learning level.

These lessons have definitely expanded my options with new ideas. For example, I bought a Rat2 Distortion pedal which I'm enjoying. I wouldn't have known about the pedal except for the lesson. Every lesson is a new adventure on the guitar. THANKS again to all of the instructors!

I joined Pickup Music about a month ago and have been so impressed with the courses, the layout, the instructors and the features. I've played guitar for 30+ years to an intermediate standard, have tried multiple online courses and have had regular in-person tuition with a great guitar teacher for many years, but I just haven't been able to sink my teeth into improv because nothing quite got me there.

I've spent the last weeks working through the CAGED course with Molly Miller and it's been a game changer. I've learned more from Molly in that time than I have from all the other online courses I've taken put together.

The knowledge layering in the courses is really clever, and I absolutely love the structured jams/workouts. I've been logging in every day, completing one lesson and working my way through the Pickup Music grades. I've also submitted a couple of videos of me playing and was amazed to receive 10+ minutes of structured feedback from a friendly and motivating coach each time. I've also used the AI Coach tool, which was surprisingly accurate.

I signed up for the free 14-day trial and immediately converted it to a full year's subscription. $179.99 is an absolute bargain for what you get on this site and I'm actually surprised they charge so little. And when I mentioned Pickup Music to my guitar teacher during one of our lessons, he told me he'd also trialled the site to see what it was like and couldn't agree more with my assessment.

I am 71 years old and have been playing on and off since sweet home Alabama was released. I have purchased 10-12 guitars trying to find the one that will make me sound better. Pickup music is the answer. There are multiple directions you can follow with great lessons you can work on at your own pace. There is something for everyone on this site. Money well spent..

Excellent customer service and responsiveness, but more than that, the education is exactly what I was looking for. A structured plan to succeed in your goals, and a tiered strategy that goes step by step to get there. A huge range of genres and techniques, and amazing teachers and artists showing things you can’t “just find” on the internet. It wasn’t just an investment in their offerings, it was an investment in myself. If you put in the work, even just a few times a week, it WILL pay off.

The App ist functionable and the coaches are great. Especially the Personal Feedback to the Performance Videos are very usefull.

Such a good platform for encouraging the joy of learning and constructing YOUR musical zone - it’s been many years that I’ve been guitar-noodling, never making my vision and my reality combine to my satisfaction - and eventually I gave in to the regular Pickup Music ‘calls to action’ that came my way after I showed interest in something of theirs that I saw (on Facebook! So now you know how ancient I must be!). Anyway, it does take work, focus, practice, discipline, but the kind that is rewarding, not frustrating; when you’re ready to transfer the energy from your habitual disappointment in wasted hours, into relief at having something to show for your efforts after some structured, slightly challenging but fun sessions right from day one, you may begin to look forward to picking up that six-string song-plank and making friends with it again. You can count on candid but supportive feedback by a fine team of educators/muso’s… you’re not ‘noodling randomly YouTube lessons’ - you’re a grown-up back at school - cool school! This course is a fabulous experience. It is like having private piano lessons that you can take any time day or night. Such a fun way to learn. Step by step, note by note the lessons are clear and engaging. I signed up for a year and so glad I did. This is a course I really look forward to. You can tell that the people who put this course together remember what it was like trying to learn. They engage with you along the way and are always available for help if you need it. But not intrusive and not demanding. This course can be taken as quickly or slowly as you enjoy. Absolutely one of the best courses for piano.

I am taking the beginner bass course with Corbin, but there are also other awesome instructors, classes, and mini-lessons. I am an intermediate player, who simply wanted to gain a better and deeper understanding, and who does not like any time-constraints, or pressure. I am finishing the units at my own pace, often repeating some of the ones I already finished, and I am enjoying every moment. I highly recommend.

I'm very Happy with Pickup Music. I get to peek in and see what is happening with other musicians and look close at their approach playing, I learn by hearing and watching an performer and then it clicks and I see why things are done in a given situation!

This is the best online guitar program I’ve used. It’s better than Guitar Tricks for me because it is a bit more structured and linear and the feedback is far better. It still has some quirks I don’t like, random classical music pieces for one. Plus, all the songs are either knock offs or their own composition.

I started about 15 months ago, and after completing another online course I lost direction a bit with 'where to go next'. I came across Pick up music and gave it a go, and it has been absolutely excellent. I have been using it for about 6 months now, and it definitely has helped me get on a track to learning new things in a structured way, and although I tend to dip in and out of it now as I need, it was invaluable for getting me over that 'post beginner hump' with the intermediate course, and make sure I stepped up to moving on from the basics without it feeling overwhelming. I don't often recommend things like this, but I feel this is exceptionally well done, and the fact you also get guitar etc. courses as well is excellent value.
