Plas Weunydd Avis 

We had an upgrade to a lovely room with a bath. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the food great and all very clean.

I have loads of allergies and the hotel had ensured that they had taken this into account when prepping my room. I had a really comfortable stay and my allergies were not at all irritated when I was in my room.

Staff were polite and curtious. Always quick to respond to request for help or tea, coffee or cutlery during breakfast.

On the ground floor there were lovely little nooks to sit in for meals or to just sit and chill with friends.

The views were lovely.

The food was good and there was a varied menu.

Only a few little pointers:
1. On day 3 and 4 of our stay, the positioning of the breakfast bar was problematic. The contraption that had the food in was positioned to the right, so that meant that the plates, toaster and bread were all postioned to the left meaning that we could not easily access the toaster as the area was congested.

There were no croissants on day 3 & 4.

The hotel on the whole was well kept and clean.

On booking I could not receive a correct confirmation of my booking, first confirmation had the incorrect date, the second confirmation had the incorrect price and the third confirmation didn’t confirm I had paid for breakfast, I gave up in the end after several telephone calls and hoped all would be ok on arrival.
The room was nice and clean, comfy bed and a nice shower.
The food was disappointing, the evening meal on the first night, was a strange mixture.
The breakfast, stone cold plates, no orange juice, scrambled eggs, had been left out for hours and the sausage wasn’t nice at all.
The staff seemed very inexperienced and everything was an effort.
I don’t think we will be returning.

Comfortable bedding, linen, spacious, lovely bathroom, nice buffet breakfast, great staff very helpful, perfect location for zip world caverns, free parking, we stayed x2 nights worth every penny,also thank you for changing our booking due to illness, 100% recommend this lovely hotel.

Great position and views in an interesting area.

What an amazing place, we stayed in the glamping tent and it was perfect. The best view, spacious inside and was equipped with everything we needed. Staff were amazing and location was also great for us.Couldn't recommended this place enough !

On 3rd - 5th July a group of 10 were staying locally and lack of options meant we had to eat here twice for dinner and once for breakfast. For the first night I rang ahead and we provided a pre order for our meals. All went ok with the meals and service. Also when enquiring about the meal on first night I enquired whether we would need to book for the buffet breakfast and was told we didn't. We arrived for the breakfast the following day. After paying up front we got to the buffet to find shortages of most of the food. When asked if it was going to be replenished we were made to feel like a complete nuisance. On the second evening, upon realizing there were no other options for food locally, we had no choice but to eat at the hotel restaurant again. This time we hadn't preordered but tried to explain to the staff that we were completely flexible and were happy to wait or have the food served at different times. The waiter went and asked the manager and we were frankly shocked at her reaction. She rolled her eyes and said, "not you again". We explained that were flexible again and she said she had no room currently for us as she had just sat a table of 3 people! Eventually she agreed but was very rude and demanding when taking our orders making us feel very unwelcome. We were told that they would ask us to take our seats in the dining room when the food was ready. When the food came out I heard her say to another member of staff in very stern manner "Just put the meals anywhere, they'll have to find it themselves". In all an utter disgrace in customer service from the manager. The other staff were very pleasant and accommodating. In my opinion I would recommend anyone staying in the area to plan well ahead and find other places slightly further afield to eat.

Stayed in one of the glamping pods for one night & it was amazing. Beautiful interior & stunning outlook. Very comfy beds with everything you might need for a idyllic &comfortable stay. We paid for the breakfast package & it was honestly well worth it. Only thing I'd suggest with the breakfast package, is that maybe, fresh milk be left in the fridge, rather than having UHT milk. Only other slightly disappointing issue was we found the restaurant food really quite below standard, especially for the price. Would definitely return to the glamping pods though!!

We had an amazing stay in one of the Shepherd’s huts for two nights and would most definitely recommend. The reception is in the bar area of the hotel and check in is very straightforward. The receptionist checked with us that we had watched the YouTube videos which are provided in the welcome pack. This is important to do - there are 4 short videos with very clear information and instructions for how to use equipment. Driving the golf buggy to our hut was a fun, unique experience and the views were just amazing. The hut itself has everything we needed and was tastefully designed. It was so peaceful being up in the hills, sitting outside on the little camping stools provided, looking out onto the lake and watching the sheep. We will certainly be back and would highly recommend.

Great view, good room, nice location

Booked a stay here for a night, the views driving in are insane, it’s in a beautiful location. Arrived around tea time as we had been quarry karting, the staff were so friendly. We got given our key for room 11. It was amazing. So clean and everything you’d need for a nights stay. Me and my partner loved it.

We had breakfast in the morning, it was lovely and the staff in the morning were lovely too.

Would love to stay again!

We stayed in a nice twin room for an MTB race at the bike park. Nice and comfortable with a log fire in the bar area. Good food and great staff . Thank you

We stayed at the glamping tents and I would seriously consider a more upfront warning as to the hike from your car to the tents. We have 2 children and a dog and it was brutal. We left a day early… the fridge was barely cold and spoiled all our food, including the extras we paid for. No one was around to help us take our bags from the tent to the car park so my partner had to take 3 trips wild I managed the kids. Not the relaxing glamping experience I imagined. It’s also not quiet as you can hear exactly what’s going on in the valley near or far.

This is my second time staying at Plas Weunydd and another great experience. One of my favourite places to stay. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, hot showers, plenty of room to park, super comfortable beds and pillows - we all slept so well. The team are a real credit to the hotel and I just feel so at home from the minute we arrived - we could just relax and enjoy the bar area and warming up by the log burner. Everyone made us so relaxed and welcomed and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is really well located with so much to do in the surrounding areas. We are already looking forward to coming back. Thank you for a wonderful stay yet again.

Fantastic place, lovely decor, great staff and delicious food. Very good value for money

Gosh there is so much to be improved! I would hardly call it a hotel, a b&b at best. No defined reception area, no lifts, no downstairs toilets. They only serve breakfast which is very overpriced, cold and mediocre. No lunch offering/cafe/ sandwiches etc considering there is plenty of passing trade. The evening menu is again overpriced for what it is and you're lucky if they have it in stock. And do not come at me for wanting cheap as i have just paid £325 at a fine dining restaurant today. The cleaning standards are low. On a rainy wet day the establishment could generate so much more revenue by gathering the guests together and hosting events. The staff are so disengaged and not interested. The rooms are very basic with a mirror by the front door and no sockets. Honestly I really don't feel it's my role to tell you how you could make so much more money if you cared. Do better.

Lovely place and location. Room was really nice and had a big bay window looking down the valley between the mountains. Great way to spend a few mins having a coffee in the morning. Will stay again for sure and great for Zip World. Staff friendly and food was good!

Great stay and location, all amenities we needed were available. Perfect peaceful mini break, with stunning views. The kids absolutely loved it too.
