Even though, the data was recovered off of the hard drive submitted, I was disappointed with the service received. I was not kept apprised of the status of the repair, the service was more costly than originally stated, and the data recovery took much longer than was originally quoted.

When I first contacted Proven Data Recovery, they were very responsive and even sent a courier to our location to pick up the hard drive. However, things changed after this. According to your company policy, “Throughout the process, we will keep you informed of the progress we make.” I would not receive updates until after I contacted the company. We also paid for emergency service, but Proven Data did not have a donor hard drive in stock, so one had to be ordered. The donor hard drive took two days to come in. This delayed the completion time of the repair, which ended up taking about a week and a half or more to complete. I understand that the repair might have been more complicated than what was first stated. However, we paid close to $4,000 for emergency service, which I do not believe we received.

Lastly, when I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was placed on hold and then told someone would call me back, but I did not receive a call back. I called again and spoke with someone that claimed to be a supervisor, but he couldn’t make any decisions, so he had to speak with his manager. For the inconvenience that we experienced we were given a 10% credit, and we ended up paying $3,758.22. I believe that the service should have been much better for the price charged, and I also feel that the company should have been upfront and given us a more realistic time for the return and also for the quote from the very beginning.

Proven Data was easy to deal with, efficient, and they recovered a good chunk of data from my laptop that had a failed hard drive. I was particularly pleased PD was able to retrieve all of my music, 650 albums, over 6,500 songs.

Great Service, recovered our ransomware encrypted files much cheaper than paying the ransom.

I had reservations at first because I didn't want to pay out a lot of money without being pretty sure that my files would be recovered. But the Proven Data folks explained the procedure they use to determine if they could recover a high percentage of my files and the cost. If my files couldn't be recovered, there would be no cost to me. After evaluating my external hard drive, they said they could recover about 98% of my files. I gave the go ahead, held my breath and waited for the results. The bottom line is, I was extremely happy when I saw that almost all of my files, and especially the ones that were most important to me, had been recovered.

The overall experience was positive. They did what they said they would do in the time frame the said they would. However, the cost was extremely high. It cost me more to have them fix the problem than the entity that created the Ransomware would have charged me. They know you are desperate to have it fixed, so they can charge a really high amount for the work.

Awesome service. had a cryptolock/cryptowall hijacker locked all the files in quickbooks, Microsoft office, Microsoft outlook, Microsoft excel. just opened up a ticket, gave $3600 and got all the files back. really awesome service.

Very happy with my experience. My cloud backup strategy for my personal computer turned out to be critically flawed. I had a local external drive but was only backing up quarterly. So when my 2TB internal drive died I was in a panic. The team was very responsive after a brief start up delay. Once they were working on the project they were very good about setting expectations. I would suggest a bit more handholding at the beginning when people are in a panic. :) They were able to recover 100% of the data on the drive so I am a very happy camper. It was expensive but worth the investment in not spending several hundred hours in rebuilding expensive and complicated music production libraries.

Was kinda leary at first, but gave them a little bit of trust and they recovered everything. Was a good thing, the virus infected our backup as well.

We were struck with the 2048 bit Ransom virus. We contacted several companies and no one would even try to crack it. To that point in time no company had been able to crack the 2048 bit encryption code. We continued to research other companies and came upon Proven Data. Their proposal to us was if they couldn't crack the code there was no cost to us at all. So, basically we had nothing to loose. We sent them a couple of files to test and within 24 hrs. they cracked the code. We were extremely happy because not only was our data on our server corrupted but our backup as well. They proposed 3 different pricing scenarios based on how quickly we wanted our data recovered. We choose to have it done within 24 hrs. and it was done within a few hours.

I had an SD card in my phone completely die. The data was completely gone. I had valuable photos and videos of my children that I was so sad to lose. I spent hours and hours on the internet researching possible solutions and tried all of the usual things at home. When nothing worked, I started calling various companies who claimed to be experts, and they all said the same thing, the card was completely dead and there was nothing they could do.
