I was devastated when I had to cut the full sapphire eternity wedding band off of my finger earlier this year. Having read the amazing reviews of Pruden & Smith, I contacted them to see if they could help repair the band. They have been fantastic, from Rebecca sitting down with me to look at design options, to the tour of the shop and work areas, to the design check and rough fitting, to the person who inlaid all of the teeny-tiny sapphires back into a new and larger band. They understood the emotional attachment I had to my ring, worked with me to find a best solution, and crafted a beautiful piece of jewelry that I will cherish as much as the original band. Since I was traveling to the shop from London (an easy hour on the train), I brought in a few more items that needed repair/redesign, including my mother's engagement ring which we turned into a gorgeous pendant necklace (I actually cried when I saw how pretty it was). On top of the Pruden & Smith team being so incredible, Ditchling is a lovely place, with some friendly pubs and a really nice tea room that has delicious cakes. I have bought from this jewelry shop numerous times over the years. I have been delighted with all items. They were excellent on the rare occasion that something has gone wrong a year or so later and fixed the item. They have been very helpful resizing rings, checking whether a necklace needed rethreading (it didn't) and advising on pieces that I have inherited. I thoroughly recommend their jewelry and their service.

We like to support independent business and commissioned our Wedding rings to be made at Pruden and Smith. Rebecca Smith was extremely helpful and informative in the design, using gold from a link bracelet given to me for my 21st, which was of sentimental value. A modern gold bangle was suggested using gold from the bracelet which was also used to make the wedding rings. I am extremely pleased with the result. We were given a tour of the workshop which was also very interesting. All in all, an absolutely delightful experience.

Pruden and Smith have been our go to jewellers since getting engaged in 2018. I’d been dreaming about a particular engagement ring for years, I didn’t think it actually existed but P&S had it and tailored it to me in a way that was both affordable and unique. The studio is really cool too.

They helped us source our wedding rings. Talk about going above and beyond, our wedding rings weren’t available in the right half-sizes so they gave us temporary ones for our civil wedding then brought the right ones to London Bridge station the day before the church wedding.

Masters at work, using the latest technology to reimagine and build new jewellery from old; as well as being founded upon generations of hand made artistry and hammer work to create a mouth watering selection of incredible designs. An 8 hour round trip to the South, with a Spa stop before the final consultation was a perfect short vacation. Two weeks later, perfection arrived! Thank you team and Rebecca for all your support.

I've loved popping into this little jewelry shop in Ditchling High Street for over 30 years, browsing their latest designs and picking up pieces here and there for my wife. Staff are super friendly, patient and helpful and the one time something I had bought needed a repair, they refunded the purchase price in full. A warning to men: don't take your partner there as they love everything!
