My house was in a life estate to my only child who unfortunately passed away unexpectedly at 36 with a Vfib heart attack at work. They keep sending offers for my house to my deceased son. I am having a hard enough time emotionally without these idiots trying to buy a property that would not have been his until I died. I have left messages on their answering machine but still they send these mailers out.
These folks keep sending me mailers…
These folks keep sending me mailers about property I own and will not sell these people are a joke and need to be jailed
Messaged me like I didn't know what I was doing.
Texted my personal number at 10:30 PM. Asset manager, Scott Darling, didn't care on how many properties I owned (saved that text message). Messaged me like I didn't know what I was doing. Passive aggressive techniques. I tried them once and they defaulted on offer and received no earnest money for them failing to uphold cash offer.
This is a scam
This is a scam. Their offer for our house is insulting. The included photo of our property feels extremely creepy.
You aren't that desperate
🔥 Review of Rebuilt (My Real Experience)
I want to be clear upfront — the guy I’ve been dealing with personally has been professional. This isn’t about him as an individual. This is about the business model of the company he works for.
And that’s where the problem is.
This company operates on one core strategy:
👉 Get your house for as cheap as humanly possible — no matter what.
At first, everything sounds good. In my case, I was given an initial number of $116,000. That gets your attention. It feels like a real offer.
But once you go through their process — sending pictures, giving details, doing everything they ask — the number suddenly drops. Not a little… a lot.
👉 My offer went from $116,000 down to $60,000.
That’s not negotiating — that’s a bait-and-switch.
Now they’re trying to “work it back up” into the $80K–$90K range like they’re doing me a favor. Meanwhile, I already said my lowest would be around $106,000, and even that leaves me with basically no profit — just getting out from under the house.
So let’s be honest here:
Why would anyone agree to that unless they’re desperate?
⚠️ What You Need to Know Before Dealing With Them
The process moves fast, but the terms constantly change
The original offer does not hold
You’re pressured to lower your expectations
They will ask things like: “What’s the lowest you’ll take?” — not to help you, but to find your breaking point
This isn’t about helping homeowners.
It’s about maximizing their margins.
💰 The Reality
This is basically the pawn shop of real estate.
You’re not getting market value.
You’re not even getting close.
You’re getting a fraction of what your house is actually worth — while they turn around and make a significant profit.
And sure, they’ll say they bought hundreds of homes last year.
That doesn’t impress me — if anything, it tells me a lot of people probably got the short end of the deal.
🧠 My Take (Straight Up)
If you sell your house to a company like this without being in a serious bind…
you’re making a bad decision. Period.
There are better options:
List it as-is
Sell locally
Take your time and get fair value
Because once you go down this road, you’re dealing with a system designed to: 👉 Wear you down and get your property cheap
👀 Final Thoughts
Again, the guy I spoke with was fine. No issues there.
But being nice doesn’t change the reality of what’s happening.
At the end of the day, this felt like:
Lowball tactics
Moving goalposts
A company trying to take advantage of people in vulnerable situations
If you’re thinking about using them —
slow down and really think it through.
Because from my experience…
👉 This isn’t help.
👉 It’s a business designed to win big — while you walk away with far less than you should.

I received an unsolicited offer from this company that included a picture of my house. The offer was for roughly half of the property value and there was a semi-realistic check attached. How many individuals attempt to cash the checks and get defrauded out of their money? This is shameful!

They offered 86k for my property which isnt even enough to buy my garage, let alone the house that is worth 4x that amount.....Mitchell, when asked how he feels about scamming people out of their property, said he feels great and sleeps like a baby every night. Absolute fraud/scam company with heartless and gutless employees.
Poor marketing procedures
I received an unsolicited offer to purchase my home in Arizona. The offer with the fake check was received opened. They don't even use an envelope, just a folded tear off ends to open piece of paper. Of course, every postal worker between Nashville and my home has looked at it before I received it. Really? No evidence of glue on the top. The "envelope" states that financial documents are enclosed. Considering the increase of people trying to steal property these days, it seems to me that a legitimate business would take more caution to prevent fraud from happening to people whose properties they want to purchase.
I just got my second offer from Rebuilt.IDont think so, obviously they are crooked
I think their crooked,
THis is the typical Bait and Switch…
THis is the typical Bait and Switch company tell you one thing and even write a fake, thats right fake contract and then switch the price on you for all kinds of reasons. This is now in the works with the attorney general as well as civil suit so stay away. I gave them ample time to make it right and they are choosing not to. Now its our turn the public and its time we take them down together.
I received an unsolicited lowball offer…
I received an unsolicited lowball offer about a fifth of it's value. Glad I looked at trustpilot where ALL reviews were one star. Probably would be zero stars if that was an option. Company should be ashamed of their business practices.
Who is Rebuilt trying to kid anyway?
So I get an unsolicited offer from Rebuilt to buy my home for PAY UP TO: $165,606. I looked at the 'not a real' check and then glanced out the deck towards the lake and I wonder what makes this company think they're gonna get a hold of my lakefront property for such a measly pittance? This place, located at 15 Century Blvd Suite 307 in Nashville, TN (according to the address on the 'not a real check'), also claimed to be a 'local home buying company right here in my home town area. If it looks a scam and sounds like as scam, well.....
Leland boyd said he would sell our…
Leland boyd said he would sell our house after offering 67000 for it now hes dropped It to 30,000 and if we won't go with that he will part ways. It's a house in the first Jewish community here in town built in 1870 , still has the original cedar shake . Two people has come to look at this , its a few days from being on the market a month and hes done nothing to try to sell it . Rebuilt lies and dont stick to what they offer you. It's a horrible company .
So My home is for sale!
So My home is for sale and has been appraised! I get a letter from rebuilt saying they will pay me $24,000 and its a very fair offer! Hahahahahahh my home is right on the water it is my front yard and has been appraised for $249,000 so how is this blatant take advantage of some one that may not know any better. Obviously they will never get my home you are at least $200,000 short on your offer! I just wonder how many people they doop out of their properties. The closing agency hopefully looks into these sales and makes questions about it before transfer! All I can say is get a life and quit trying to scam people karma is a thing and it will get you! You cant hide from it!
1/8 of my property value
I received an offer for about 1/8 of my property value. This company is a predator. Take heed.
Received a fake check in the mail for…
Received a fake check in the mail for 1/5 of what my home is worth. Disgusting and insulting. They prey on desperate individuals. They should be ashamed of themselves. Avoid at all costs.
Scammers
Scammers! Don't waste your time! They'll try to make a quick buck out of your property within 45 days of initial contract doing nothing and if there's no luck - they'll send you a termination letter. Don't even bother with them!
Received a ridiculous offer on my…
Received a ridiculous offer on my vacation home from this company that borders on illegal or at least a scam that everyone should be aware of. They presented an offer in the form of a fake check that was only ~6.5% of the value on a home in a very desirable ski resort area in Truckee, CA. BEWARE!!!!
