I asked a simple question which was can I not do a weekly subscription as I wanted to submit this to insurance. The response I got back was an AI bot answer (admitted it was AI) and it pretty much said no . Don't waste your time with this company

Horrendous experience

Horrendous experience: Matched with a therapist and availability was very limited and took 3 weeks to organise an appropriate appointment. In this time I was charged £60 per week despite no services rendered. Then the session online did not work and we could not get through to the therapist at. I messaged her to say we wouldnt be continuing and were seeking in person therapy and i thought this would have stopped everything. Instead I find i have been charged for 10 weeks!!! I am not in financial trouble as I am £600 down and am hoping they refund buy other reviews make me worry it is all lost. Taking advantage of people already on a vulnerable situation, it’s disgusting.

Regain is great therapy help

Regain is great therapy help. I'm 50 and I've never done therapy before, but recent events have me struggling. Regain is helping me through it and I never would be doing as well as I am if it weren't for the people at Regain like Danny and Richard. They have been absolute angels

Unprofessional service

My partner and I scheduled a couples therapy session on the regain platform. However, the therapist was a no show at the time of the appointment. Despite several attempts made to reach this therapist via messaging there was no response and the video session did not happen. Needless to say this was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. And this scam of company charged my card before services were rendered. So now I am having a difficult time getting a response from their customer service after contacting them and asking for a refund.
It was absolutely highly unprofessional.

This is not common, but I wonder if you perhaps had been matched with this therapist for a while prior to entering your payment information to commit, and they're now "out of office" or no longer on the platform. Unseriös.

Nimmt 75EUR pro WOCHE (egal ob ein Therapeut zugewiesen ist oder nicht) und ignoriert Präferenzen.
Habe explizit angegeben, das ich einen DEUTSCHSPRACHIGEN Therapeuten zugewiesen bekomme, wurde ignoriert (Warum wird dann erst in der Anamnese danach gefragt?). ALLE weiteren Therapeuten, ebenfalls nicht deutschsprachig.
Account wurde gekündigt, und Paypal Zahlung zurückgezogen. Für mich nicht nutzbar.

I have been left in financial hardship

I have been left in financial hardship, on there site the Q&A states that the prices range from 45-75 billed per month, they have been taking 45 per week from my account for the last 7 weeks, a total of 315. And we only had one session and did not book again. I am honestly left feeling stressed and anxious. UPDATE: They have refused to refund, in fact they make no mention on this and instead offered me and extra 28 day free. I have responded and refused this as I already didn't need them for 6 weeks that they took payment for, and now they have not replied to me for two days. Absolutely awful company.

Weekly fee with last minute cancelations.

We signed up due looking for counselling and it seemed like a great option. We work a lot and connecting together can be quite difficult.

Upon starting a profile we was shocked to see they take payment up front for the first week and it takes a few days for a therapist to be allocated to you - although this will depend on who best matches you. Once you have connected you, ONLY then do you start to book in a session - which were all suspiciously the next week (payment farming?).

We arranged childcare, arranged our work hours, planned some time after for me and my wife to take things in - only to find our Therapist cancels an hour before the meeting. You can guess we was quite frustrated.

Upon re-arranging the next available meetings were all on days we had originally said we cannot do and given the option to find another therapist we was trust into the "waiting" game to match with another Therapist and the next available meetings/sessions were almost a month out.

All this time we are paying £60 a week.. you get whats happening here - we are basically being taken advantage of with poor management in this platform and its just about collecting as much money as possible.

We actually had the choice to go through government options but we chose to do it via Regain as we felt going private might be a better option and didnt mind paying for a quality lead service. We have since decided we will be approaching the other options and going down that route instead or paying for a local private therapist. We will not be sucked into the online subscription based farming strategies again.

Note : Regain did offer us 2 weeks credit to the account in the end - only to find out the next time we can meet with a therapist is a month out. It really defeats the offer.

We can absolutely understand your disappointment. Although you can pay before being matched with a therapist, your actual 7-day billing cycle won't start until the match is actually made. That being said, if you told our team that the next available appointment you could book was a full month out, we have trained our agents to provide an extension that is long enough to make up for that.

The platform design is not good. Customer support staff communication is horrendous.

The platform design is really not good in several ways.
The communication from customer support staff is horrendous.
The therapist was amazing, though.
The platform needs to do much better if people want to go back to use it.

Terrible company

Terrible company, charged me for 2 sessions despite offering me having no sessions. I have continually asked for a refund and all my emails have been ignored. I would avoid at all costs

Regain gains another happy client …

Regain is great at responding to their clients needs. Offering any options to make things more affordable or right. Every person I’ve had to deal with has been so kind.

My therapist has been great but just want her to push me and my partner a little more.

Regain Exposed My Private Data to My Ex-Girlfriend and Ignored Most of My Emails

I'm writing this to warn other users about a serious privacy violation and completely unacceptable support experience I had with ReGain.

I used ReGain once in 2021 with my ex-partner. Fast forward to March 17, 2025, I decided to return to the platform with my new partner to begin couples therapy. When I logged into my old account, I was prompted to fill in a new form with a long list of questions about my current relationship. Naturally, I assumed this was treated as a new case, especially since it had been years since I last used the platform.

There was no warning, no confirmation, and no question asking whether I was still with my previous partner. There was no way to indicate that this was a new relationship, and no indication that my account was still linked to my ex-girlfriend.

After paying €240 and sending a deeply personal and emotional message to the new therapist explaining my current relationship, I found out that my ex-girlfriend received an email notification from ReGain saying we had been matched with a therapist—despite us having broken up years ago.

Worse: she reached out to me saying, “Hey, what’s going on? Why did I get a message from ReGain saying we’ve been matched with a therapist?”
That’s how I realized my private messages were shared with someone I had no intention of ever including in this process. She had access to the message I had sent to the therapist, even though it was clearly about my new relationship.

I contacted ReGain support immediately, extremely alarmed, and after several days, I finally received this response:

"Your former partner that is attached to this joint account still has access to their journal, as well as any messages sent to/from the therapist. That said, in order for you to work with your new partner, you will need to create a new Regain account using a different email address. Not only will this provide a fresh start for you and your current partner, but it will also allow them the opportunity to fill out their own questionnaire specific to your current relationship.
If you decide to continue, we can cancel and refund this current membership."

Let’s pause right there. ReGain’s logic is: if you change relationships, you’re expected to guess that you need to create an entirely new account with a different email address—otherwise your ex will remain linked, and may receive notifications and have access to sensitive messages.

I confirmed right away that I wanted a refund. But after that email, I received no further communication. No confirmation that my account was canceled. No confirmation that my ex no longer had access. And no confirmation that the refund had been issued. I had to just wait and wonder.

After several unanswered follow-ups from both me and my current partner’s account, I finally received the refund on March 21st—but again, without a single notification or confirmation email. I was left in the dark, unsure whether anything had even been done.

And as of today, my old account is still linked to my ex, and she still has access to the sensitive information I provided to the therapist.

This is not just bad UX—it’s a serious breach of privacy.

It is completely beyond me how a therapy platform—where people go to open up, be vulnerable, and heal—could be designed with such a careless disregard for something as basic and crucial as user privacy and consent.

If my ex had been toxic or abusive, this could have had devastating consequences. In my case, I was lucky. But this setup is dangerous.

ReGain’s customer support was slow, minimal, and unapologetic. I never felt like they took the matter seriously. They simply refunded me and disappeared.

I will be sharing my experience across platforms, because people need to know:

Your private messages can be accessed by your ex if you reuse your account.

The app offers no safeguards for this, even after years of inactivity.

Their support team will barely acknowledge the issue, let alone fix it.

I strongly recommend staying away from this platform until they completely overhaul their privacy logic and user experience. Therapy apps should be safe, clear, and consent-first. ReGain is currently none of those things.

PS: I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because I had an alright experience with my 2021's couple therapist, even though there are many issues with therapists on the platform.

In this case it sounds like you were no longer matched with the same therapist, so it may not have been quite as obvious that your partner was still attached to the account.
