Customer service is horrible
Customer service is horrible. I was a small account holder. I don’t think they really wanted to do business with me because of that. A couple of times I went in for a meeting with one of the bankers and kept getting interrupted by other employees. I guess they thought their business was more important than mine. So I found a bank more interested in doing business with me.
Regions app is my only spinning app
The Regions app is my only spinning circle app and I have lots of apps. Three attempts to update a bill pay address and three fails. My fourth attempt was successful but only after saving one line change at a time. Then received a fail trying to pay the just edited bill. Also Regions new rule for withdrawing large sums of money ($2k or more) is a hassle hiding behind "its for your protection..." All companies say this until they get hacked so what protection.

Kylen Ware from the Lamar Ave branch in Memphis, TN was very helpful during the account opening process — patient, attentive, and knowledgeable. We spent several hours opening three accounts, and he answered all of my questions thoroughly at that time.
Unfortunately, the level of service changed significantly after the accounts were opened. I was told I could reach out with any questions, but multiple calls and messages have gone unanswered, even after being told I would receive a callback. This made it difficult to get support when I needed help navigating my accounts.
While calling the Regions Bank customer service line was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions, my direct experience with follow-up from this branch did not meet expectations.

My first aggravating experience with…
My first aggravating experience with them was when I was opening an account they told me it wouldn't take that long it was double the time that they said it would take then I deposited cash in the account and it took way longer than it should of to deposit I don't know why it couldn't be immediately since it was deposited at the ATM at the bank then I had a $525 government check
When I found out the fee was going to be over $7 for immediate processing I decided to wait and do the overnight processing I get an email telling me that it won't be processed until a week later and the lady I talked to was helpful but wasn't helpful she even called out the wrong month when I talked to her about it so I'm going to give it a couple more chances and then I'm going somewhere else I was with PNC for years I'll probably be going back the only reason I left PNC was there wasn't a location close to me !!
Horrible Bank
I put in a fence last year around July and signed up for the finance option through Regions Bank. In January of this year I paid the loan in full based on the outstanding principle. Come to find out 4 months later my account still has a balance that is still accruing daily interest, according to the 2 individuals I spoke with. I asked to speak to a manager to better understand since both people I spoke to kept trying to throw the fine print from the contract at me. When I asked for the payoff invoice to be sent to me to finally close this out, I was told I needed a fax number or they could not send it to me. Who in 2026 has a residential fax number? They said I could not receive it neither through the portal in the website nor to my email. Very poor customer relations and practice when it comes to closing an account. I just want to put this behind me and have someone with a brain to tell me why I am still accruing interest.

Regions Mortgage Nightmare
Over the course of more than 40 years of buying and selling property, I have worked with numerous financial institutions. Unfortunately, my experience with Regions Bank during a recent construction and mortgage loan process was, by far, the most problematic.
In September 2021, we applied for and were approved for a construction-to-mortgage loan. At the time, my credit score exceeded 800. The loan closing took place in a booth at a fast-food restaurant, which was unexpected and unprofessional. During closing, we were charged $1,500 for a title insurance policy that named Regions Bank, rather than us as the insured; we were informed that obtaining a policy in our own name would cost an additional $1,000.
Shortly thereafter, a Regions representative contacted us to open a checking account, a process that took nearly ninety minutes! Despite already having a valid property survey, and without our approval, Regions ordered three additional surveys, adding approximately $1,700 to our loan balance.
When we sold our previous home in October 2022, we deposited the closing certified cashier’s check at a local Regions branch to be applied to the loan. The bank placed a ten-day hold on the funds. After the hold expired, we encountered repeated issues attempting to apply the payment to the loan, including account setup errors and multiple instances where the funds were removed from the loan and placed into a suspense account, resulting in unnecessary interest charges. Resolving these issues required multiple branch visits and extensive follow-up, and interest corrections had to be disputed.
During this period, the loan servicing issues negatively impacted my credit score (740), which caused me to miss qualification (>746) for a manufacturer’s promotional auto loan. Additionally, converting the construction loan to a permanent mortgage took over a month due to difficulty locating anyone at Regions who cared enough to complete the process.
Following conversion, additional problems persisted. Our debit card never functioned properly and despite assurances from Regions personnel, was never resolved. The escrow department failed twice to pay our homeowner’s insurance on time, requiring our intervention to prevent a lapse in coverage. Additionally, principal pre-payment was allocated incorrectly.
In summary, the cumulative errors and poor customer service made this an extremely frustrating experience. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend considering other financial institutions for mortgage services.
If I could give a minus star I would!
If I could give a minus star I would! Mount Dora Florida branch manager John .This bank lies and takes your money without a care.We have had account hacked 2 times and have gone in half a dozen times to get things fixed before we even started dealing with the bank manager over a month ago and he dosen't come to appointments he sets up with you or returns phone calls! We are retired and someone keeps taking $500 from our account online bill paying (fraud) and they charge us $36 to stop it.We can't afford this we have no money to eat now... but the bank won't give the 500 back even though they see it's fraudulent .So they are making money off a person living on social security after being hacked! The cyber security at this bank is horrible customer service even worse ! Do not use this bank unless you have money to throw away it is as bad as the fraudulent scum that hacks your account, who knows they maybe one in the same!!!

The worst bank I ever have is the region bank,
Long term customer gone
I've been a customer since 1981. Terrible customer service and sketchy policies, including holding deposits for ridiculous amounts of time. I had a hold of 8 days after the money was withdrawn from my bank. Called customer service, no explanation why, ask for supervisor name, so I could speak with them and was told she didn't know supervisor's name, hold she would get someone??? I hung up on this bs. Closing all of my accounts.
Bad experience and lack of problem solving and resolution
Bad experience! Firstly regions wouldn't let me enter my own account after changing email and phone number so i had to take an uber to a physical Regions bank to update my personal info instead of over the phone as they wouldn't let me.
Then I wasn't able to log in on app after updating info. It took me a long time to log into my own bank account. People should be allowed to update their personal info with on phone customer service.
And being charged to transfer out your own money is horrific. I'm glad I closed my account with them.

I had a good experience opening an account in branch recently. The banker was able to help me immediately and I had an account open within an hour. It's nice to know some banks still value in person services.

Opened premium money market account and would not add my wife!
She's on checking and saving account but will not add her without a branch visit.
Due to medical issues and transportation problems we can't drive there.
No customer service terrible support with issues.
Recommend don't do business with this bank.
Avoid!!!
I’ve already had two very unfavorable experiences with this bank and I’ve only been a customer for a few months. Phone representatives are not helpful and honestly I think it’s not worth the effort or stress trying to bank with them. My girlfriend left after banking with them for years after her account was hacked and they wanted to hold her liable the next time. No fraud prevention and they expect you to suffer when they fork out your money to scammers! My employer said my money is pending yet when I contacted the bank they said there is no way to know if a payment is pending or not because they can only see what I can. Why have a number to call if you can’t tell me more than what I can already see????
Regions Bank Locked My Account Because I Complained About My Own Paycheck
Today I spent hours trying to reach someone at Regions who could help me access my own paycheck. I have deposited the same payroll check two weeks in a row with no issues. The only difference this week was that I used mobile deposit. Regions placed the maximum hold on my account — 7 days — leaving me with no money for groceries or gas for my three children over the weekend.
After being told repeatedly that nothing could be done, I was finally connected to Amos Frazier in Corporate Security. He told me I had only been a customer since 2023 and used that to dismiss me — ignoring that I have two accounts, one older than 2023. When I expressed frustration, he said “I know what I’m going to do about this” — and he meant it. Within minutes of hanging up with Amos Frazier, I was completely locked out of my online account. I cannot reset my password. I cannot monitor my account. I cannot see what overdraft fees are coming in. Amos Frazier in Corporate Security had the power to lock me out of my own account in minutes but claimed there was nothing he could do to help me access my own paycheck.
A representative who identified herself only as “Lis A” told me to go to a food pantry. I have a job. I deposited my paycheck two days ago. When I asked for her full name so I could report her comment, she told me she would “handle it.” They can lock you out in minutes. He punished me because he didn’t like my tone of voice. That is who Regions Bank is.

I am working out of state in Olive Branch, Mississippi, Mississippi, I have banked with Regions bank for many years on the Gulf Coast, I am up here in Olive Branch and have had the pleasure of dealing with the Olive Olive Branch Regions branch and I have four young ladies I would like to leave a positive and glowing review for, Arterria Weeks, Kalif Lovett, Brenda Griffin, and Sherry Cunningham (manager). I have dealt with these poor ladies for about a month and a half, 2 to 3 times a week various transactions and starting with Brenda. I’ve had nothing but positive interaction and been given tremendous service and help, Brenda even saved me from losing $160 to a Scam from GEICO insurance insurance And she was able to recover my funds and Red deposit them into my account, these other ladies have been so sweet so courteous, and it’s a pleasure dealing with your bank, especially with such wonderful employees and associates!

Regions Bank started great then they had a glitch in their system after I had funds available from my paycheck & they made my savings account go in overdraft. They admitted a glitch in their system was the reason but has made me pay it back & takes money out of my account each time I get paid. I have called them about it many times & they always say “well we have a right to do that” & recently a lady hung up on me. I want nothing to do with this bank once I get out of this situation that THEY messed up.
