I paid the full cost of my Aga refurbishment, approximately £4,500, on 26 June 2026 after being advised that the work would be completed within 8 to 10 weeks. More than 16 weeks later, the work has still not been carried out.
After receiving little communication, I had to chase progress myself before eventually being given an installation date of 15 October. The day before the scheduled appointment, I was informed that the engineer could not attend because his van required a replacement windscreen and that the next available date would be 4 November. Whilst I fully appreciate that unforeseen circumstances can occur and I do not blame the engineer involved, I struggle to understand why alternative arrangements could not be made by the company to honour a long-awaited installation date.
My real concern is the overall customer experience. The company has held the full payment of approximately £4,500 since June, the refurbishment is significantly beyond the timescale originally quoted, and despite further emails seeking reassurance and confirmation that the work will proceed on 4 November, I have received no response.
As things stand, I have no certainty that the refurbishment will actually take place on the revised date and I am finding the lack of communication increasingly frustrating.
I hope the company responds and resolves this matter promptly, but based on my experience so far I cannot recommend the service.

I booked an engineer visit, with a hefty minimum call out fee of £168, because my rangemaster had no power and the fuse switch would not reset. Some elements had needed to be replaced 6 months earlier, which also included the £168 call-out fee. The engineer examined the back of the oven and quickly identified the issue. They told me that one of the wires had not been properly reconnected following the previous repair and that this had now become loose and was causing a short circuit. They reattached the wire correctly and the issue was fixed. The visit took 10-15 minutes in total. I called customer service to explain the situation, that the second visit was only necessary because the job was not completed correctly the first time, and I therefore expected a refund. I was immediately told that I wouldn't be getting a refund for the recent visit, as the work was completed correctly. I said that the call-out fee for the first visit should be refunded and I was told that the case would be investigated. I subsequently received an email saying the two incidents were completely unrelated (what an unfortunate coincidence!) and that I would not be getting a refund. In my opinion, I've paid twice for the same job (£336) and this company only cares about short term profit and does not care at all about their customer's experience and their long term reputation. If they had done the right thing and refunded one of the call out charges, I would be a delighted customer, leaving a 5 star review and singing their praises. Now it's the opposite.

regarding concerns that my Rangemaster had blown the mains trip a couple of times and I wanted advice assurance. The job was passed down to a local domestic repair company. The bill for callout was £168 noe main fault was detected but recommended that tec returned to fit a new oven light socket
1 Week later advised unit was in stock at £15 +Vat and Post total £30 but additional £80 to fit total £248 to fit a £15 fitting that takes total of 10min
Local Tec base is 4 miles from my location
I believe this is well over the top and very bad customer service I hope this comment gets back to AGA.

They sent an engineer to fix a minor cosmetic problem with ignition on our stove. After 90 minutes working on the stove he had broken it, and we have had to pay for a brand new stove. And they totally ignore our complaints about this, refusing to acknowledge responsibility for their engineer's mistake. Very poor engineering, dreadful response to our complaint. I recommend anyone avoid this company

We wanted to change the colour of our Rangemaster cooker and phoned for advice, as to whether we could buy replacement oven door skins and drawer fronts.
Despite our cooker being 16 years old, Repairtech were able to order the parts, which arrived after 6 weeks and now we have a brand new looking cooker for not too much expense. Fantastic service, helpful staff, would fully recommend them.

Arranged for a quote which I agreed to only to have an unknown number call me demanding full payment for service they not completed nor offered any dates . This does not align with normal business practice i.e deposit then balance on completion of work. Sent email looking for response on 8 May still no reply. Avoid

RepairTech are Aga Rangemaster’s recommended repair agents so, when the Aga failed to properly cook the Christmas turkey, and investigations suggested that the simmering oven was too cold, I naturally turned to them.
The call-out fee was the not inconsiderable sum of £240. What I got for that was a visit from a technician who stuck a digital thermometer in the oven, pronounced the recorded temperature to be within the acceptable range, and who dismissed the undercooked turkey as ‘just one of those things! In addition, no visit report was provided, not even when requested by e-mail.
When the Aga then failed to properly cook the Easter lamb joint, I was absolutely certain that something was amiss, and decided to conduct my own investigation. With the help of the cooker’s instruction manual and ChatGPT (yes, it really does work), I was able to identify the probable reason and conduct a test using a cold load (a pan of water) which proved that the suggested cause was indeed the fault.
I then contacted RepairTech again (copying Aga in), telling them of my findings, and pointing out that the test I had conducted was precisely what their technician should have done in January. Aga were extremely supportive and, perhaps as a result, RepairTech agreed to send the technician back again. Aga hen suggested that we might like an alternative technician, to which we agreed. An appointment was duly made but, less than a week before the visit, RepairTech called us to say that the second technician was no longer available. The lady I spoke to stated that RepaiTtech has ‘…thousands of engineers…’, but apparently they only have one covering North Wales and, even then, only on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
When I spoke to the technician on the ‘phone, it turned out that he did not know how our Aga worked and, even worse, didn’t even have a wiring diagram for it! (How was he supposed to have diagnosed and repaired the fault in January when he didn’t even know what he was looking at?) I therefore had to e-mail him my copy in order for us to continue our conversation and even then, he took some persuading that the fault diagnosis had any merit. He also seemed to think that a bimetallic analogue thermometer would never read the same as a digital one. (An interesting concept since for them not to do so would be a violation of the laws of thermodynamics.)
Aga obviously agreed with my diagnosis of the problem since they sent the required spare parts in advance of the technician’s return visit in order to spare me the pain of a RepairTech having to come back a third time.
An appointment was duly made, with the repairman scheduled to arrive between 3 and 6 p.m.. The latter time came and went, but no technician, no text message, no ‘phone call. In the end, he arrived about 6:10 p.m. and set to work, making it clear that he disagreed with the fault diagnosis whilst being completely unable to offer an explanation of his own. The parts were duly swapped over and the Aga switched back on. Once again, no visit report was provided.
Last weekend I had the chance to repeat the test I had conducted previously. The results showed that simmering oven heat transfer had increased three-fold, and that there was prompt temperature recovery following the introduction of a cold load. Both results validated the fault diagnosis ChatGPT and I had arrived at.
RepairTech are a complete shower. This has to be the worst repair experience have ever had. I hope and pray that will never, ever need their services again. (Please note that Aga were nothing but extremely sympathetic and supportive during the whole process. I used to have an old oil-to electric conversion Aga which had an issue. Once again, Aga were extremely helpful, even to the extent of arranging for people from Telford to come out, partially dismantle it, and rectify the fault. It is therefore both surprising and a shame that Aga have paired up with such a poor service agent as RepairTech.)
I have no doubt that RepairTech will post a slopey-shouldered reply to this review so, when they do, I hope they address the following questions:
- Why was a technician dispatched who did not know how the appliance worked?
- How was the technician supposed to diagnose fault when he did not have access to the relevant technical information, i.e. the wiring diagram?
- Why did the technician dismiss the failure to properly cook the Christmas turkey when that information was key to diagnosing the fault? And
- If they claim there was no problem with the part which was replaced, why has the heat transfer rate increased threefold, and why do I now see almost immediate temperature recovery in the oven in question?
Update: On the back of this review, RepairTech's MD ordered an investigation. It's good to see that they take feedback seriously.
We booked Jason via Rangemaster. He was superb. The two ovens in our Rangemaster 110 had both cut out within minutes of each other at an awkward time … four months ago. The company we first booked had sent us a gas engineer who ordered, and then fitted, new parts but — as Jason pointed out — they were the wrong parts, which is why the ovens still failed to work, after the first engineer’s visit.
Jason was courteous, quietly competent throughout and rapidly sorted out the problem. Both our ovens now work.
Thank you.

Having moved in to our house I discovered that the Rangemaster cooker had several issues. I struggled to find anyone to service it because it is dual fuel. I contacted Rangemaster. The lady on the phone was great; I was pulling my hair out at this point and she explained everything, sent me an instruction manual in pdf and organised everything I needed. The engineer from Repairtech was fab. He explained everything that he was doing and ordered the spare parts we needed. He came back to fit everything and I now have a cooker that works. I am very impressed with the service I received. Thank you.

Booked a service via Rangemaster and an engineer arrived via RepairTech. The engineer provided make updates throughout the day regarding his ETA. When the engineer arrived he was courteous, polite and very efficient and even managed to fix another small problem we had with the hob whilst he was here. Probably paid over the odds for the whole service but wanted peace of mind that the service was conducted by a reputable person. Overall pleased with the result.

I was contacted by Repairtech via Rangemaster and found that this service is a waste of time and money. They were very unclear up front how much they will actually charge you for a repair and after paying £168 for an engineer to visit and review the required repairs, they sent another estimate of almost £500, which I wasn’t expecting for a couple of simple fixes on handles that fell off and new spring for the oven catch. What a waste of time and money. If Repairtech could have been more up front about the cost of replacement parts I wouldn’t have agreed to the initial call out and I could have put the £168 towards a more up front and value for money service. Don’t use them, what a rip off.
