I'm not with them but have been affected by their poor service and advise anyone one thinking of using Richard reed for conveincing to think twice .
There are three properties in the chain and this has been on going over nearly four months . The two properties not with them are ready to exchange and there Clients haven't even received enquiries . To top it off we have now been informed that the solicitor in question has went on the sick and no one knows who's pick up the file .

Communication and customer service lacking

My husband and I were selling our property, to buy another, and were advised by our mortgage advisor to use Richard and Reed as it was their supporting company. We agreed, for ease, and so the process of selling and buying began (this was early June).

To summarise a long story; we were not kept in the loop with any of the proceedings and when I did dare to email regarding an update I was advised to 'find another solicitors as we clearly cannot meet your demands or expectations.'
I would not mind if I was harassing the company but I simply emailed asking for an update.
I ended the contract with the solicitors, due to their lack of service and found a local company. Unfortunately Richard and Reed did not pass on the relevant documents to the new solicitor so my husband rang them asking to do so. The lady on the phone proceeded to tell my husband that 'this is all your wife's fault and speak to her if you want to know what the problem is!'

As you can imagine, I found this to be incredibly unprofessional and totally inappropriate considering it was THEM that could not deal with our case. They sent me their bill regardless and it totalled £400; looking at the invoice and the breakdown there was £200 raised as profit costs which I cannot understand.

I then rang them for the last time to chase up documents and Alison very curtly told me that 'we are far too busy to deal with impatient customers.'
I explained to her that that is not my problem and if they cannot cope with the workload, simply don't take it on. We ended politely with a tone of annoyance.

I think the company are trying to expand, which is totally understandable, but they need to get their foundations right first. Build your company on communication and customer service rather than just shoving as many cases as you can into your day.

Terrible Solicitors Firm

Absolutely shocking treatment by this company especially SG the allocated solicitor and his assistant.
Very unprofessional attitude if you dare to challenge you are threatened your case being terminated.
We were dealing with our late fathers property sale and there was no empathy what so ever which turned into a 5 month turnaround and a very stressful time for our family.
I have suggested that the following needs urgent attention .
: Training
: Communication
: Leadership
: Transparency
: IT

Staff member SG bringing down the standards

I am writing to share my experience with Richard Reed, which I found to be unsatisfactory due to several factors that significantly impacted the overall process.

The duration of the transaction was prolonged, primarily attributed to what I can only describe as a lackluster approach from the team. Communication was poor, particularly in navigating the complexities of working with a young, first-time buyer. This lack of support was disappointing, especially given the importance of empathy and understanding in such situations.

Throughout the process, I felt that there was a noticeable absence of compassion or empathy, which are essential qualities in customer service. Instead, I encountered numerous excuses that shifted blame away from the team, rather than taking responsibility for the delays and frustrations experienced.

Additionally, I found the handling of my concerns to be unprofessional. When I expressed my frustration, the response was to threaten to terminate our conversation, rather than addressing the issues at hand. This reaction seemed disproportionate and indicative of a thin-skinned approach, which is surprising for a team in this industry.

Given my experience, I would advise potential clients to reconsider using Richard Reed. The lack of effective communication, empathy, and professionalism in handling customer concerns has left me with little confidence in their services.

Had a great experience with Richard Reed. Kept me in the loop at all times, helped answer my sometimes what felt like stupid questions and ultimately helped me gain my daughter back full time! I could never ever thank them enough!

I think the service is expensive, slow, impersonal.

I think the service is rubbish. I achieved zero headway with my divorce and custody battle after having a husband who cheated before, during and after our marriage, lied to the courts with regards to a drug & alcohol problem. I lost my baby. She's all grown up practically now so that times gone now. No I will not be recommending this firm.
I have Multiple Sclerosis she advised me (after wanting to actually MEET the person I was paying hundreds of pounds to?)she did everything by phone extremely impersonal service.
Had I been an alcoholic and he was a surgeon? Why didn't he ever mention he thought I had a problem with alcohol during the 15 years we were together, I did not have a drug problem.
No not a solicitor who goes all out for you.

I experienced a very poor service from R. Reed and would not recommend them at all. What they told me at our initial meeting totally changed and ended up a total waste of time for me but they made easy money from. Trying to contact them was a nightmare and my case was passed to the trainee solicitor to progress and as the point of contact. It is my opinion that I wasted the legal fee they charged me as I got nowhere with what little they did and advised.
They put comments on negative feedback to mitigate the criticism and fool people into thinking they care ! they do not they have your money.
