Honestly the worst company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with

My name is Harry, and after reading some of the negative comments online, I felt it was important to share my own experience with Rockstar Motors. From my dealings with the company, I found the team to be professional, approachable, and transparent throughout the process. They took the time to explain everything clearly, answered my questions promptly, and kept me informed at each stage. The vehicle sale process was handled efficiently, and I experienced no unexpected issues or hidden charges. Communication was straightforward, and the team were always available whenever I needed assistance. Based on my personal experience, Rockstar Motors delivered exactly what was discussed and provided a level of service that I was happy with. Truly shocking company. Same approach as others, my car was for sale on Autotrader and they called me to sell on my behalf for £1000. I too said it was still for sale privately and was reassured that it was fine.

I sold it a couple of days later myself privately only to face a £1000 bill to collect my car despite them not selling it. Staff were rude and aggressive at all levels.

Ignored all trading and consumer law relating to cooling off periods and contract regulations. They will claim they provide a bespoke service which requires no cooling off period but this requires a standalone contract that outlines all elements of "bespoke" which of course they do not provide.

They rely on bullying customers into paying large amounts to release cars citing lien law as a reason to not give your property back to you.

Currently going through the Courts to reclaim my money. If you do pay to get your car back, ensure you pay under protest and get a signed statement to that effect from them which is your legal start point to recover your money.

Google the following if you intend to take them to court:

1. The Misrepresentation Act 1967.
2. Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
3. Consumer Rights Act 2015 (in relation to cooling off periods).
4. Digital Markets, Competition and Consumer Act 2024.
5. Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.
6. Section 11(1) of the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977.
7. Core Contract Law Principles derived from Common Law.

Rockstar Motors really made my selling experience much easier than i thought , at first i was a bit skeptical about the costs but once they explained it to me when i was down at their dealership it really made me feel comfortable about selling my car , their communication wasnt the best at the beginning when i was dealing with dan hugo but then one of the other boys started contacting me every week and updating me on the situation with my car , in the end i got more than what i was selling it for privately and it was much quicker than i expected

Extremely happy stayed open an hour and a half later for us, car ıs un tıp top condıtıon amd make sure your hydrated on thıs scorching heat

My experience with Rockstar Motors has been extremely disappointing, and I feel it is important to share so others proceed with caution.
I was contacted after advertising my vehicle privately on AutoTrader and was told there was already an interested buyer for my car. I made it clear that I used the vehicle daily for commuting but was encouraged to bring it to their office.
When I arrived, I was told the buyer was unavailable/in a meeting and was encouraged to leave the vehicle. I was briefly shown an electronic agreement described as “just a sale agreement,” without detailed explanation of major terms or conditions.
The following day, I was informed the car had allegedly been sold and they were only waiting for finance to be finalised. Over the following days, communication reduced significantly and explanations became increasingly inconsistent.
When I requested my car back, I was shocked to receive an invoice exceeding £2,000 for sourcing, advertising, and SOR cancellation fees- charges that had never been clearly explained to me beforehand. This was especially concerning given that I had advertised the vehicle myself and had not approached Rockstar Motors for a marketing service.
What also concerned me was that the individual who initially contacted and coordinated the process (Peter) was later said not to work for Rockstar Motors, despite the clear impression throughout that he was part of the business.
This matter remains unresolved, and I have formally disputed the charges and retention of my vehicle while taking legal steps.
I would not encourage anyone to sell or buy through this dealership.

We called 1st thing in morning to arrange a viewing on a car only for us to drive 1 hour away to view and the salesman turned us away due to wanting to keep car, what a joke of a car showroom

Do not let this company sell your car.
They are a bunch of cowboys who make up the rules as they go along.

They had me waiting for over 6 hours to collect my partners car after we gave them notice we wanted to withdraw from the SOR contract.
They ended up locking the door and going home, nobody tried to explain anything.

They tried to hit us with £2,800 in costs and refused to the hand the car back until the invoice was paid, nowhere in their contract does it state a cancellation sum of £1,000. I asked for receipts for the items they itemised but its fallen on deaf ears.

This will now be taken through civil courts and the police.

Absolute joke of a company, by the looks of other reviews we are not alone.

AVOID

Do not sell your car through this fraudulent company. They take your car, sell it and then DON’T GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY. They are now ignoring my partner. We are now having to take legal action to get his money back as they do not answer your calls, or when they do answer they say “the guy in the accounts department is busy” or “out”.

The overall process were fantastic and smooth.

I wouldnt even give these absolute jokes a 1 star and thats beeing generous, these guys have no idea about cars or what there selling, they sold me a car thats not even road worthy, they state they service and heath check the car before hand over again this is a lie no proof no paper work couldnt even tell me who "checked the car" or what garage, they lie through there teeth danny is absolute joke truly thinks hes somthing hes not, this garage is not worth the headache avoid at all costs!! I rejected the car within my 30days which I am fully legally aloud to do as the car i purchased is to dangerous to drive on the road after actually getting it inspected by a mercedes specialist, they have ignored all communications extreamy unprofessional wouldnt even call them a company more on the lines of scammers.

If you are thinking of selling you car through these guys then please think again, they are totally unprofessional, Daniel will lie through his teeth but Danny was aggressive on the phone to me and swore. To be honest they don’t deserve a 1 star

Sold my Porsche Macan through Peter at Rockstar motors, Peter got me £2,000 more than what I had it advertised for.
Great service would highly recommend to sell car through the guys at Rockstar.
I wanted to say thank you to Dan who was also brilliant arranging the sale and delivery it all went to plan.
