I bought the tin recently from a Builders Merchant. When I went to stir it there was a thick layer of almost solid polyurethane at the bottom of the tin. I gave it a thorough mix with a clean stirrer but there were still lumps suspended in the varnish. Its going back to the shop. I found some old leftover Wickes varnish in the shed. Years old but it was better than the Ronseal.

Colour on the pot and on web of multiple suppliers was vastly different. Who wants a white decking.
It’s ridiculous that in this day and age it’s not possible to represent the colour correctly for paint, I know individual monitors can be set up to show colours differently but what shows as a reasonably dark taupe/stone colour should not come out almost white. That’s complete misrepresentation. The colour on the pot was a bit lighter than on the web but it looked a beige colour but also nothing like it came out.
I would describe the colour as snow it’s not brilliant white but it looks like snow.
I also think it’s insane to create a colour for outside decking like that. A complete waste of £92. I know it’s a small amount of money to them and they don’t give a #### but I expect from reading reviews most customers are at least surprised by the colour they get if not annoyed.
The cop out that printed or website colours aren’t representative is just not good enough.

Real trades man don't use this over priced cancer ridden rubbish , spend more money on marketing to sell rubbish to the masses. Tried several of their products now , and they all were awful. Your much better with the alternative that are usually cheaper . More expensive don't mean it's better ! It's just crap.

Bought the Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish Clear Satin in B&Q for the softwood stairs rework. These were completely stripped to bare wood, stained and varnished as per instructions on the tin. I have applied 3 coats and month later, I can easily make an indentation to wood just with my nails without any effort. Reading advice whenever I can and reviews for this product I understand what is going on. It took me weeks to prepare the stairs to this point omitting the fact how expensive this stuff is. All I can say, I feel betrayed as customer by this false advertise. Damage is done. NEVER AGAIN RONSEAL!!!

What a load of rubbish! Definitely doesn’t do what it says on the tin. I have never painted with a paint like it, doesn’t brush on or roller on, if you touch the paint you’ve just applied in a brush or rolling motion it just peels the paint back off. Waiting for it to dry now so I can rub the walls down and remove the big marks it has left behind. What a complete waste of a day and money, £36 for a tin of crap, not to mention the One Coat slogan, you can’t even apply one coat properly.
Avoid using this.
Doesn’t warrant the one star but wouldn’t let me proceed without submitting a star rating!

I bought the Ronseal High Performance Wood filler, and cannot complain about the quality of it sanded into the cracks and crevices of the damaged external front door. Maybe they need to change the size of the tin to let you know how much is really inside... as there was a third only inside a 275 grams tin. The main concern I have is the Ronseal Xactly Exterior Paint Colour Boost, that clearly states Rainproof in one hour, so it is painted, and fourteen hours later it does rain..and the whole door is now mottled... ?? I have photographs of the amazing finish that was done prior to the rain and was very proud of rescuing this door from decay, and now very perturbed by all the negative comments about Ronseal Products...including this one... I just thought that it did what it said on the Tin...

We have used ronseal fence life plus on our house cladding. We did 3 coats, with plenty of time in between but the black paint has completely faded and gone patchy, in some places right back to bare wood. This was after only 8 months and it is supposed to be good for 5 years plus! I had several months of emails back and forth with customer service who just came back with nonsense excuses so she said it would be escalated to a manager. That was 2 months ago and have heard nothing, despite chasing. This is a major headache and am very disappointed with Ronseal’s la k of response.
Have had a courteous response from Ronseal, below. But have heard nothing since from them. Being cynical, maybe by writing a message on here, they look to be supportive, but then take no further action . .

We used Ronseal chalky furniture paint dead flat Matt pink rose and it is the worst paint you could ever use. It is basically water with a touch of pink in it. It takes around 20 coats to cover a light grey kitchen cupboard do not buy.

I was really excited purchasing the Diamond Hard garage floor paint as I have always wanted a smart looking garage and the floor is so important. I followed the instructions to the letter set about painting my floor. I allowed two days between coats and painted it a week before I went on holiday for two weeks. It says dont drive on it for 3 days, so I left it to dry/set for 21 days. Came back from holiday and really excited to drive into the garage on the new shiny floor, only to find that under where the tyres had been parked overnight the paint had lifted. To make it worse some water off the car had dripped down and it had bubbled. I now have a painted floor so no going back and horrible patches of concrete. Dont buy this product as you cant drive on it and its NOT waterproof. Tried to call customer services six times, held in a queue and then line dropped. If i could give a minus score I would. It DOESNT do what it says on the tin and they should be ashamed. I replied with the information Ronseal requested a number of times and all I got back was emails saying that they have not heard from me and closing the complaint.

Ronseal, stays white, non drip, one coat, satin paint. It may stay white, it isn't non-drip and it definitely isn't one coat - one of the worst paints I have ever applied.

I had Ronseal 10 Year Woodstain professional applied to my windows and doors. When it gets wet it temporarily changes colour giving unsightly patches. Ronseal cannot explain why or confirm that product efficacy is unaffected.

Purchased Ronseal Precision Pump Fence Sprayer a couple of weeks ago for a large fence project. After filling the sprayer up, creating the vacuum via the pump, it spurted paint all over me/part of the fence, the nozzle seemed defective, despite cleaning down all the component parts and flushing with water it did not work, I’m so disappointed with the product. It cost under £30, its not fit for purpose, would like a refund. Interested to see that replacement nozzles can be purchased, is this a “known” manufacturing issue?

Having a very large garden with post and rail fencing that needed painting I decided to buy 4 large tubs of Ronseal Fence Life Plus + in Dark Black Oak from Screwfix. As I had previously used Ronseal products I decided this was the right product for the job.
How wrong was I!! It took me 10 days to paint all the posts and rails giving them 3 coats in perfect weather conditions allowing a minimum of 7 hours between coats.
Was away for 2 months abroad and came back to a really disappointing scene! All the colour which when originally painted looked great is now all patchy and some areas back to the original wood colour. I have taken photos of this disaster.
I have yet again today started to paint the areas again to make them look acceptable but I feel that I'm wasting my time and energy. It states on the tin 'does exactly what it says on the tin'!!!! No where does it mention that the colour will disappear and leave the wood looking like it does and you'll need to repeat painting after 2 months!!
Very disappointed in this product.

Does exactly what it says on the tin'....SERIOUSLY WHAT A JOKE!!
I have absolutely no idea what has happened to this once SUPERB AND TRUSTED Company but like so many post Covid, they seem to have gone to the dogs.
Purchased large pots of Midnight Blue after seeing the picture of a latice decorative fence in the same colour. We're also installing in our garden makeover in two weeks time. Just like the picture ADVERTISED this is the contemporary colour we are after.
Two days I've been painting 30 of the some 150 slats and after 4 coats I'm still looking at more of an Aqua Greeny/Blue than a Midnight Blue. Yes Ive followed the instructions to the letter!! Fact is it is no where near the colour ADVERTISED ON OR AS SHOWN ON THE POT either.
Furthermore, the stain is so weak I seriously think it's been watered down at source because it just runs like a stream, and still I'm no further forward despite only having to paint one side of the slats.
We've just about given up and today purchased a tester pot of Cuprinol IRIS and it tacked to the wood with one sweep of the brush.....literally.
It's extremely unprofessional to sell such a poor product, pots I cannot get a refund for because unfortunately our garden project was pushed back four weeks due to the landscapers planned knee surgery being brought forward. B&Q returns policy is only 30 days. I should have read all the reviews of how EVIDENTLY poor Ronseals brand/products have become before purchasing this dyed water!!

I am a carpenter of 50 years and have recently purchased a tin of Ronseal Dark 2 part wood filler. The filler itself does work well, however once it is sanded turns to a light almost white finish rendering it useless on dark wood. I contacted Ronseal and all they said was take it back to where you purchased it. That is not the issue, the problem is in the manufacture of this product as it doesnt work on Dark woods. I will now have to apply multiple layers of wood stain(not from Ronseal) to aquire the colour of the wood. Dont buy this product for dark wood you may as well use White.

After 48 years in the trade using quality paints I purchase a Ronseal 750ml tin of Weatherproof wood paint.
The biggest mistake was not reading reviews on this product. ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. Is the only way to describe it. Being an artist as well and fully understanding mixing colours, pigments etc. This paint is not fit for purpose. It would have to be sprayed on by someone who understands paints (I worked in a car spray shop for 2 years.
All this synthetic rubbish on the market is causing everyone issues. Plus you can not sand it as it peals like plastic.
Please do not wast your hard earned cash buying any Ronseal products…. You will regret it…
Also when Ronseal reply’s to these posts not one person has said that the matter/issue has been resolved.. WHY ?

Bought Ronseal xactly interior paint for wood, had a colour mixed in b&q. Took it home, prepped the surface, shook the tin and when I opened it was like water. Not only was the colour not what I was expecting,( b&q problem) the coverage is abysmal. (Ronseal problem) It has taken goodness knows how many coats not 2 as indicated on the tin. Very disappointed as I had hoped to use the rest of the tin on another piece of furniture…I don’t have time for that. Different paint required. Avoid unless you are trying to avoid your husband and kids and need your project to take 10x longer to complete.
