Ronseal Avis 

They claim 10 years on wood stain, but should be 2 years only, poor poor poor quality product.

I used the Ronseal outdoor furniture oil. It completely ruined a new hardwood garden bench. Ronseals answer was that I rub it down and recoil as the original may be past it's user life. That was it,, do not use this company, a crap product with zero customer concern.

I bought a tin of Ronseal wood paint Racing green in a gloss finish, It is the worst paint I have ever used. After 4 coats there are still streaks where it has not covered the previous colour and brush marks, I followed all the instructions, very unhappy with the result, avoid this paint at all costs.

I bought some Ronseal precision brushes from B and Q.
They were packaged with a plastic hanger but other makes in the shop had cardboard packaging and hangers but the brushes looked inferior quality.
I was horrified when I got home and unpacked them to find the plastic packaging isn't even recyclable.
I can't believe that in 2026 a company like Ronseal couldn't give a damn about the environment and was using non recyclable plastic when I would have expected cardboard packaging for at least the last 10 years on this product.
I also condemn shops like B and Q for selling these items, if B and Q refused to stock items packaged in non recyclable plastic or cardboard, irresponsible companies like Ronseal would have to change.

At least 10 years too late. My company went over to cardboard packaging etc in 2010 because of concerns over global warming and plastic waste.
We had the packaging designed, printed and supplied within 2 months.

Putting instruction on how to open the tin on the label. Explain also that it is extremely difficult to open, and more so if you are a woman with not a lot of strength.

Got Ronseal garage floor paint for my garage,followed the instructions to the letter.Cleaned and sealed the floor with Bostik concrete sealer.I then applied 3coats of the paint(which is very easy to apply),allow the appropriate time between each coat. Then I left it for 5 days before driving my cars onto it,it chips very easily,if you drop your car Keys it chips ,if you have a stone stuck in your shoes,it chips ,and the same with stones stuck in your car tyres.Its just not up the job.DO NOT USE THIS PAINT ITS USELESS. I’m now left with trying to clean it all off and using another paint that will work.Ideally you need a 2 pack paint.I I would give it no Stars if I could.

I bought a Ronseal Fence Sprayer two years ago.
It was very easy to use. Towards the end of the first use, the end nozzle seemed to clog and stopped spraying, sending the fence covering out in two diagonal jets.

Despite a thorough cleaning this continued. I didn’t use the sprayer last season but tried again a matter of weeks ago. Unfortunately, there was no change in the nozzle, it still dispensed the liquid in two diagonal jets.

I contacted customer services in the hope that the matter could be rectified without me having to purchase a new sprayer.

There was absolutely no problem. A new nozzle is on its way free of charge.

I purchased the Ronseal interior varnish and when I opened it I nearly fell through the floor. Instead of a warm yellow polyurethane liquid there was a white one with the familiar smell of PVA glue. Since when did a weak wood glue and surface stabilizer become a "Diamond Hard" interior varnish? 750ml for £18 at Toolstation is daylight robbery and has to be the most misleading description of the contents of a tin ever. "Does what it says on the tin" it does not. I'm disgusted with Ronseal and with Toolstation for stocking this item. I tried to return it but was outside of their 30 days limit period.FOLLOW UP. After giving Ronseal all of the information and pictures that they requested they said that it's not PVA in the tin so I requested a chemical content list for the interior varnish and I'm still waiting.

Well I had a problem with a Ronseal decking cleaner that did not do the job .I was not pleased as I had spent over two hours trying to clean my decking .I had used Ronseal to cover the decking two years ago and that was fine but the cleaner did not workat all .I got hold of Ronseal and they gave me a refund for the cleaner also telling me it was old stock .Brought it from B&Q so will be having a word with them as well .Happy to get my money back for the product but not happy for the two hours work ,all for nothing.

I bought Fence Life Plus in Sage - stupidly hadn't looked at reviews about the colour....Totally not sage. Spent hours painting fence panels for the colour to be a turquoise blue colour. Why advertise a product in a specific colour if you can't supply it. I'm not the first to experience this so clearly testing was way off and just rebrand the tubs you have listed as sage - I'm going to have to buy a different brand and redo as they clash with my new garden furniture.

Disappointed due to money and time spent already....other than that it's actually quite nice paint to paint with.

I wrote to customers services regarding two safety issues regarding the 9lt plastic containers of fence paint.
Their biggest concern was worrying if I was going to make a claim!
Also I could not find on your website a tab for customer services.

Ronseal Fence Life plus. Horrible runny paint that leaves an ugly streaky finish. I’ve given my shed five coats so far to try and make the finish look less ugly. If the sixth coat doesn’t do it then I will sand it back and use a decent product. Don’t waste your money on this green water.

I have a lot of fencing and some of them need patching up ,but I was unable to find RONSEAL FENCE LIFE COUNTRY OAK anywhere locally? I emailed the firm to ask why, and they informed me that they had discontinued ``country oak`` and they kindly sent me this Trustpilot link in the following line, At Ronseal, we’re always looking to improve and ensure we do ‘Exactly what it says on the tin’. Sadly in this this instance I am unable to purchase a tin in the first place which is very annoying! I am going to have to change colour and have to repaint the whole lot! I might change brand now, why should Ronseal benefit at my expense!

10 year woodstain breaks down in less than a year, five months of which was under cover out of the weather. Customer Services response to my complaint was that basically it was all my fault due to light sanding the brand new seating only where it was needed, not the entire surface. Also i covered it with a huge purpose made bag that allowed loads of ventilation by only lying on the arms and back, but this somehow allowed condensation to permeate the three coat of ten year woodstain and cause mould stains !!! All this was apparently not the fault of the ten year woodstain but my fault all along!!! I shouldn't have bothered and certainly won't in the future, because I won't be using Ronseal ever again, preferring to use Furniture Clinics Wood Sealer, Preserver & Protector - 5L and I urge you to do the same. PS despite the reply below, I'm still waiting. Some four weeks later and I am happy to say that the issue as now been resolved with an amicable agreement.
