Lifetime warranty? Not if it’s wear and tear. Or your dog rubs it or chews it!!!
Bought a harness for my dog and was pleased to see a life time warranty. However I hadn’t realised that it was made of cardboard covered in fabric, So once it gets wet the cardboard starts to wear and rub holes in the fabric.
When I sent photos they asked if the dog rubs itself along the floor or furniture. When I replied no suddenly their excuse was the dog must have chewed it. Errrr no. How could he chew his harness when wearing it and its hung up out of his way when not in use.
So then it was simply wear and tear. I would expect a product of this price to ast longer than 3 months.
Do yourself a favour. Try perfect fit. They last much better.
Avoid ruffwear if you want a harness to last or dont go out in the rain
For a company charging premium prices
For a company charging premium prices, this has been an embarrassingly poor experience from start to finish.
I spent around £200 on Ruffwear cooling gear and somehow ended up trapped in a week-long delivery circus involving Royal Mail / ParcelForce repeatedly claiming parcels were “out for delivery” while failing to deliver anything at all.
Tracking updates contradicted each other daily:
* phantom delivery attempts,
* unavailable delivery options,
* “delivery postponed” messages despite no changes being requested,
* and parcels apparently disappearing into operational limbo for days at a time.
What is even more disappointing is Ruffwear’s complete silence throughout the situation.
Multiple emails were sent over several days, including screenshots and case details, and not a single meaningful response was provided while the situation continued getting worse.
At this stage, it genuinely feels like customers are expected to simply sit quietly for weeks refreshing tracking pages and hoping expensive orders eventually materialise by luck.
Premium pricing means absolutely nothing if the customer experience collapses the moment something goes wrong.
The products may be good, but the communication, delivery handling, and overall customer support experience have been shockingly poor
Safety & comfort at last.
Ordering was easy, delivery was quick & harness fit is perfect. They only use chest measurement, which worried me but my rescued standard poodle came with the Ruffwear Flag line medium harness. The medium was too long in the underbelly & loose round the neck so purchased a small which is perfect & has room to grow. The only observation I can share is - the metal ring has been replaced with a plastic ring. I have tried 5 single girth harnesses prior to sticking with the double girth - dog was able to escape ALL of the single girth ones!
Can’t fault the customer service
We’ve always used ruffwear and unusually a collar failed. Contacted them, sent the collar back and a replacement was sent back straight away. The collar wasn’t new and it was a freak accident. Kept in contact throughout.
Excellent quality boots and outstanding customer care
I’ve purchased dog boots from Ruffwear for my German Shepherd, and while they are on the more expensive side (with fairly high P&P and several days before delivery), they are absolutely worth it.
I have tried several cheaper brands, but they tended to rotate, slip, or fall off altogether. In the end, I returned to Ruffwear—and I’m so glad I did. The quality is far superior, and the fit is much more secure and reliable.
Most importantly, my dog is elderly and struggling with his hind legs. These boots have made a real difference—helping him stay mobile while reducing trauma and pain to his paws. That in itself makes them invaluable.
I would also like to give special thanks to Emma from the customer care team. The support I received was truly outstanding, and very much appreciated.
Thank you so much to Emma and Ruffwear—your products and service have made a meaningful difference to my dog’s quality of life.
Overrated, expensive and returns process is awkward
Ordered some boots using their measuring recommendation for my dog who has severe allergies. Completely the wrong fit and the ones that did fit had to be continuously readjusted as would not stay on. The returns process is deliberately complicated and slow. I will not order any of their products again. Very overrated and expensive. Not at all impressed.

I purchased the seat extender for my 44lb dog. Its smaller then it appears to be in the advertised photos which show a much larger dog sitting comfortably. This JUST fits my pup.
It also did not come with the removable pad or seat belt as advertised.
The walls sag even though theres a metal pole on each side and the adjustable straps are very difficult to loosen / adjust.
The quality does NOT match the $130 CAD price tag.

I cannot rate the customer service of this company highly enough! Emma Treeby was attentive, fast to respond and even went to the trouble of filming a short video of a product that I was interested in so that I could be confident in my buying decision. Thank you so much and well done for giving such good customer service!
Products still going strong two years on
Have purchased two dog martingale collars and one dog harness previously, all over two years ago. They’re all going strong and still look good two years on!
Some friendly feedback would be it would be amazing if the chain on the chain martingale collars could be a thinner, lighter metal, even on larger and medium dogs. 🙏

Also, for anyone looking for similar seat covers, try Amazon. Less expense and easier returns if needed. Will not use again and would definitely not recommend.
Disappointing Experience
I wouldn’t recommend ordering from this store if you're based in the EU. While the product itself (a harness) looked fine, the delivery took around two weeks, which was too slow for my needs — I ended up having to buy a similar item in a local store.
What really disappointed me was the return process. Although the company claims to offer EU delivery, returns have to be sent back to the UK. This meant I had to handle customs paperwork and pay around €40 for return shipping. EU-based customers should be aware of the potential extra hassle and costs before ordering.

I have to commend the exceptional customer service — I’ll admit I probably drove them a little mad with multiple returns due to sizing issues, but they handled everything professionally, promptly, and with great patience. Truly impressed with how smoothly it was all managed.
Exceptional Customer Service from Ruffwear!
I recently had an issue with a Ruffwear Front Range Harness that I purchased through Amazon. After just over two months of use, it unfortunately developed a defect, which was surprising given my previous experience with Ruffwear products.
I reached out to their customer service team, and I was absolutely blown away by their response. Within just a couple of days, they replied with the fantastic news that they would send me a replacement and had a brand new harness in hand less than a week later!
While the initial harness had a defect, I truly believe this was a one-off issue rather than a reflection of Ruffwear’s overall product quality. I’ve used their harnesses and leads for years, and they’ve always been incredibly durable, the only reason I’ve ever replaced them was simply because I wanted a new color or pattern!
I can’t recommend Ruffwear enough, not just for their fantastic products, but also for their outstanding customer service. They stand by their products, and it really shows.

The quality of the harnesses and equipment is top notch. They’re quite expensive - but if there was ever an example of “you get what you pay for” this is it.
Customer service is very good. From the speed of replies to email to their friendly interactions on the telephone.
Their representative called “Megan” was particularly good and a credit to the company.

DREADFUL, POOR customer service.
I wish I'd read these reviews before purchasing a harness. I have been waiting 4 weeks now for a refund for a harness I returned in its original packing. It was a great harness & only just on the edge of being too tight for my greyhound. A deep chested breed so I thought it was best to go up a size. The harness & packaging was immaculate. I returned it tracked, so I know that they've had it. I ordered the next size up (£86) the harness is good, strong & does the job. But I am still owed £86 for the 1st harness with empty promises of getting back to me! I would definitely NOT order anything again from this company. Shameful.
Works really well!
Our Ruffwear Float Jacket was put to the test when our Pug went over the roof of our boat into the fast flowing river Thames this week. The jacket kept his head fully above water and allowed him to swim back to us. Worth every penny.
Customer care is their priority
I have to start by saying I don’t work for Ruffwear and have never been sent anything free in exchange for a review.
I’ve used Ruffwear products for our dogs for over 15 years. Yes they are very expensive but their do have a fair usage lifetime guarantee and about five years ago I used this to have two webmaster harnesses and two roamer leashes replaced as they had issues with their longevity. On this occasion Ruffwear were brilliant to deal with and that has made us determined to continue buying from them despite the cost.
In the last couple of years we’ve used their cooling coats with our lurchers and they have made an enormous difference over a couple of very hot summers. Sadly we lost both of our dogs within the last 6 months and when we got two new rescues I bought the new Ruffwear cooling harnesses. We did a couple of long walks and topped the harnesses up with water three times and the next day our lurcher was crying when I put him in the car. I found two big sores under his armpits where the wet harnesses had rubbed horribly. The whippet had a sore but nowhere near as sore as our lurcher. I rang Ruffwear and they advised me to send a lengthy email with details and photos to their warranty team. I did this and had a prompt response asking for a couple more photos of the harness and how it fitted. They then referred it to their US team as they were a bit baffled, and the outcome was that they believe very short haired dogs may be prone to rubbing, and offered to provide a different style of cooling coat for both our dogs free of charge.
Ruffwear didn’t need to do this, but this is the reason why we continue using the company and recommend it to others. They really do care about their canine customers and their human owners.
