SAMSA Is Still garbage, called them 5mins ago told them i needed a co-ed treatment program that accepted signa and ambetter.....they referred me to TWO treatment facilities, the first one didnt accept ambetter and the 2nd one was all males.....thats SAMSA in a nutshell for you. I've reached out to them for help dozens of times in the past 20 years and they are pretty much worthless. If you try going through your insurance company they will give you a generic list which YOU have to call each one to find out ANYTHING and half the numbers and websites they provide are defunct....for any one needing SUD, mental health or both only those that can spend 10s of thousands of dollars or more can find the help they actually need specific to their needs. Smh. If your not filthy rich be prepared to spend weeks looking and prepare to be lied to at every turn and disappointed after the program ends if not within 10mns of walking in the door, which is why so many of us have been to dozens of programs and still are drowning or are now dead. Good luck everyone and may God be with you because the billion dollar rehab industry isn't and just wants your money and will try to convince you the sky is red to get you admitted and grow fat off your insurance money.

Looking for help on several occasions this time cause when they asked my sex I took them there are only 2 choices they then said this call is being abusive and hung up

I've called so many times just to get a go read a book take a walk. So this time I said I'll take a walk . I called because I needed treatment before I took that step. They had nothing which aggravated me. I thought this was help to rehab to something .. it's just his kids saying go hug a dickkc basically . No help as far a as suicide ppfffttttt kids who just got out of a Taylor Swift concert if a dude well you know the deal. Samsham makes you want to take your life . This country makes bank off folks that die . Samsham can go to it's basking chair and get more people killed than if they didn't call the line . Pure disillusion and dispare that samshama sucks up like a vampire on a harvest.... Stay away from cults and satanists like samsham. No joke you can find her own rehab.. half ass one on Medicaid around $1500 a day. The ones that whatever no medicade even worse. So around$30,000 on Medicaid even up to 80,000 a month. Most offer nothing but meds. Samsham I've been hung up on put on hold for almost a day when asked. And all Sasha will do to help you if yer sui they'll call the cops institutionalize you and get paid . They don't care they are a government tool. Think Nazi Germany.... Don't ever call samsha

I'm tired of hearing help is available every time I look for a f****** number

The lady made me feel so insignificant and she had no idea what to tell me to help. She said she’s just a call center agent and not trained to help people in crisis. She made me feel so crazy and belittled me, she made me think that I could go over the edge because she said I was not making sense. I just needed a little encouragement but she said she was not able to help me. I felt so awkward!! I regretted calling for help. I’m glad I wasn’t suicidal because she mocked me by reacting like I was a nut job. She hung up on me!!!! She hung up when I was talking and trying to explain my situation!!!! Hung up on me!!!! How dare you employ people who are pushing people over the edge!!!! This should be a safe place. Not even a word of encouragement!!! No empathy or compassion at all !!!! I felt ridiculous to share my crisis. I’m just beyond myself now and worse off than before. :(

Angry lady answered, Even after explaining that I had Vertigo and could not read or use the internet. She insisted on giving me website addresses. I was seeking on how to use over-the-counter and self. Soothing methods to get through the marijuana withdrawal. She refused to give me any verbal help and would only recommend rehabs. I can't use a rehab, because the veteran hospital. If they find out you use marijuana will treat you like You are a junkie, your medical care greatly is affected by this status In a very negative way, These people are scum, they're not there to help you.

This is not the first time that I have to reach out to SAMSHA and each time is more disappointing. As someone with severe depression and anxiety making the first phone call can be the hardest part. Long wait times frequent dropped calls. I was being assisted by someone that was being helpful but the call was dropped. I called back and got a representative who was rude and not helpful and then she hung up on me. I don’t have it in me to try again. I was anxious and flustered and she made it much worse. Unfortunately more false hopes in treating mental health.

Absolute garbage. No response whatsoever. the U.S. Gov. didn't take 450,000 dead people with COVID-19 seriously, why do they think suicidal people are worth addressing? I'm confused about the the whole organization. What's the point?

Anyone who uses this site will not regret it, all of the information provided is very useful, it has a ton of great resources one could utilize, treatment data that’s very informative, and the website is incredibly user friendly. It was a very pleasing and educating experience.
