Phoned Monday and got booked the next day. Callum turned up on time and did a great job-top guy. It was a little pricey for 20 mins work but you get what you pay for.

I had a very poor experience with Sam’s…
I had a very poor experience with Sam’s Gutters.
An initial roofer came out to assess a leak around my kitchen roof window and quoted ~£396 for what he described as a 3–4 hour job involving removing and reinstalling slates. I agreed and booked the work.
From there, things went downhill:
* The job was rescheduled twice
* On the third booking, the roofer cancelled 10 minutes before arrival after I had taken time off work
* On the fourth attempt, a different roofer attended
The roofer who finally came was polite and professional, and I have no issue with him personally. However, the job he carried out was completely different to what was quoted — he repaired some felt flashing and resealed areas, and was finished in under 30 minutes. No slates were removed.
Despite this, I was sent the original £396 invoice.
I contacted the company assuming this was an oversight, but they insisted the original quote still applied due to “expertise” and other factors. I explained that the work carried out was materially different and asked for a revised invoice reflecting what was actually done.
Instead of doing this, they repeatedly tried to justify the original quote and then moved into a negotiation, offering reduced figures while still maintaining the original price was correct and framing parts of the actual repair as a “goodwill gesture.”
I made it clear I wasn’t trying to avoid paying — I simply wanted a fair and accurate invoice for the work completed.
After a prolonged back-and-forth, I ended up paying £258 for a 25 minute job just to bring the situation to a close.
Overall, I found this process frustrating, time-consuming, and completely unprofessional. The pricing approach felt dishonest and like they were money grabbing. I would not use this company again or recommend them.

Firstly, we’d like to apologise for the scheduling issues you experienced. We understand how inconvenient it is to have appointments rescheduled, particularly at short notice, and this is not the level of service we aim to provide.
Regarding the work itself, we’re pleased that our technician was able to resolve the issue on the day. As outlined in our correspondence, the original quotation was based on the anticipated scope of work required to fix the leak. Once on site, our operative was able to identify a less invasive solution, avoiding the need to remove and reinstate slates. This is something we always aim for where possible, as it reduces disruption and risk to the property.
We appreciate that the reduced time on site raised understandable concerns. Our pricing reflects not only time spent on site, but also the expertise required to diagnose and resolve roofing issues correctly, as well as safety measures, materials, and the inclusion of a guarantee.
That said, we do acknowledge your concerns and, in the interest of resolving matters fairly and promptly, we agreed a reduced final figure. We’re sorry that this process felt drawn out and frustrating, as our intention was to reach an amicable resolution.
Again, we’re sorry that on this occasion we did not meet your expectations.

Sam Warden cleaned and repaired our gutters and identified some damaged roof tiles. He came back within a week to replace the old roof tiles and did a fantastic job. Fast, efficient and very pleased with the result. Would highly recommend. Thanks Sam.

Fantastic service from start to finish. The team did a great job cleaning and repairing our gutters. What really impressed me was that when I noticed a small niggle afterwards, they came back out immediately and fixed it free of charge. Highly recommend for their professionalism and aftercare!
