I would have gone with 5 stars but they are slow and hold your checks for a looong time. Maybe electronic transfers are faster. Anyway I still buy from them because of the prices.

I placed a large order (#22494106) for 105 oz of silver in January via bank wire (total $9,339.75), and the order was confirmed with locked pricing. After my payment cleared, SD Bullion cancelled the order without prior notice, citing an internal verification/fraud flag but not explaining why.
I was told by two different representatives — one in writing and one by phone — that the refund wire would be initiated immediately and that I would receive confirmation. I never received any written confirmation of the refund being sent, despite multiple follow-ups over more than a week and repeated international calls from the UK.
After escalating through multiple emails, phone calls, and finally filing a BBB complaint, the refund was finally issued. It was only after the BBB got involved that the funds were returned.
Issues I encountered:
Cancellation after payment with no clear reason
Lack of communication / no refund confirmation
Required international calls to get basic updates
Promises that were not honoured until third-party pressure
My refund was eventually processed, but the experience was stressful and poorly handled. I cannot recommend SD Bullion based on my experience.

Absolutely horrible experience with this trash company. I spent over $5,000 on a bunch of silver bars, and they arrived with hideous black streaks all over them. Absolutely disgusting condition — clearly nobody bothers to check the bars before shipping.

I immediately reached out, and they gave me some BS response saying it was merely cosmetic and buried somewhere in their policy that this is acceptable. They also said they would charge me a restocking fee if I wanted to return them. I was shocked by this response.

How would you feel if you spent $5,000 on silver bars only for them to arrive covered in horrible black streaks, and then when all you want to do is return them (which I fully paid for myself), you’re told you won’t receive a full refund?

I managed customer service for years, and I would never provide this type of service. These people told me they would charge a restocking fee. Eventually, they agreed to issue a full refund, likely because they were afraid of reviews like this.

It’s been eight days now. I’ve emailed them multiple times asking for an ETA on my refund. I cannot afford to have $5,000 sitting on my card because they’re too incompetent to issue a refund promptly. I paid $45 to overnight the bars back to them, and the least they could do is process the refund right away.

Instead, they went completely dark. After multiple emails with no response, I realized they were never going to reply and were just going to keep my money. I had to open a chargeback against these incompetent people.

Stay far, far, far away and spare yourself the trouble. Absolutely hideous experience.

I bought 100 oz from SD Bullion on 01/30/2026. They never responded to e-mails and after calling them to cancel my order they told me I have to pay~$500.00 cancelation fee - for what? You did not ship, probably don't even have the silver, but want me to pay YOU for not honoring YOUR agreement?
JM Bullion shipped within a week of placing an order with them after I placed an Order with SD Bullion. DO NOT BUY from SD BULLION!

When placing an order, it was stated on their website "Shipping within 3 days of cleared payment!" A blatant lie and now removed!

I have dealt with SD Bullion for years. The whole experience have been positive.

After setting up my account and linking my bank via Plaid, I completed ​my purchase for silver using ​the e-check option. I later received notification that the transaction failed. Upon calling the customer service department, I was informed that their system exclusively uses Image Cash Letter (ICL) rather than the standard ACH process used by my financial institution.

​Their website states that "e-check is not the same as ACH," yet it does not specify that ACH payments are unsupported or that ICL is the only available electronic check method. As both are industry-standard e-check platforms, the lack of clarity regarding this technical requirement prevented the successful processing of my payment.

I intended to complete this purchase and only sought to use the payment method I had already authorized through ​the platform​ , since when you use PayPal or a credit card, they charge more than the e-check option.
Charging a cancellation fee when the payment failure resulted from a lack of transparency regarding ​their specific processing requirements is unreasonable.
Furthermore, I was disappointed by the service I received during my follow-up call, where I was kept on hold for an extended period only to be told a manager was unavailable ​, so ​I requested that ​they waive this $45.00 fee and cancel the order without penalty due to the technical incompatibility and the unclear terms provided at checkout. ​I was told no and then threatened with collections.​ DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

This company is legit. I ordered some silver from them and received it faster than expected. Silver was in really good condition but I wish it came in the hard plastic round coin holders instead of the plastic sleeves. But all is good! Everything went smoothly and I would purchase from them again.

I have called and emailed these guys for the last 45 days. A total of (8) eight emails have been sent asking for someone to reach out to me from customer service. I have only received autoreplies with the promise that someone from support will reach out to me shortly. I have called countless times and remain on hold in some cases for over an hour, after which I hang up. I have been put on hold, then hyperspaced and hung up on.
I placed an order early in January to pay with a bank wire and found out that the funds from the CD I was cashing in wouldn't be available in time. I immediately called to tell them the situation and figure out an alternate form of payment. No one answered and sent an email explaining this and asked to place a smaller order. I emailed with no response. Weeks later, I was hit with an enormise cancelation fee.
I have continued to call and email with no response. Rediculous!

Cancelled order the next day via email, because trying to get ahold of them is a 2 hour plus wait on the phone. Never got a response via email. Finally got a hold of them, but they charge, a 5% cancel fee + market loss at time of sale. So a charge of $3500 to cancel, even though they had to nothing on their end. Very SCAMMY, rude customer service.

I don't like businesses pushing religion onto me. I'm sorry. I really tried to be like you guys and believe but I just can't. I'm kinda jealous of you for being able to believe in heaven and being okay with dying and stuff as long as there's something after. So I don't really want it pushed in my face. Sorry. I'm just a beginner silversmith trying to start a jewlery business of ANY kind. Because my parents did everything they could to make me take medical classes in college instead of the technical art classes like silver and jewlery I could've actually done well in. So I've got a late start and I don't know how/where/which silver to buy. This is my very first time. Very nerve wracking. Another gripe, I bought the silver, made an account and all. Wanted to make sure I was registered not buying as a guest. And after I bought it, I got the silver deal in my email. In fact, I keep getting it. It won't let me redeem it (already bought something duh) so it just taunts me every few days or week or so. Fun. So there's my two cents. The silver was as described, a little over. But not enough to get excited about.
