We've had several deliveries from Sykes, and can honestly say I've rarely been so impressed with every delivery. That's saying something, as my friends will all tell you that I'm generally a miserable sod and very hard to please!!

The quality is outstanding; much better than our local fishmonger, and about half the price.

Favourites are salmon served with an orzo, bell-pepper and feta salad, and tuna with new potatoes, broad beans and a capers, lemon & butter sauce. Also, the XL king prawns; beautiful on skewers on the bbq. Also, the whole side of salmon that we smoked...I could go on and on...

Bottom line, you won't be disappointed!

This is the first time I have used Sykes and I was delighted. I wanted Arctic Char and was having difficulty sourcing it locally so tried mail order. The package came the same day it was distributed and I was amazed at the care taken to reach me before it had defrosted. The fish was vacuum packed then enclosed in a feather wrapped container with dry ice pouches. This was then enclosed in a thermal pouch with freezer blocks and finally in a sealed box. The fish was superb and every bit as good as I had hoped. The bonus was the thermal bag now goes in the boot of the car with the refrozen blocks ready for my fresh and frozen shopping to be held until I get home. All this and really good value. I can’t wait to place my next order

I have has deliveries by Sykes 3 times. Quality of seafood has been excellent, the order was delivered on time, and when I made an error on the date I requested for my last delivery their customer service was excellent and they allowed me to change the date.

I have ordered twice now from Sykes, after trying to find a a fresh seafood company, and my first order consisted of XL scallops. They arrived on time really well packaged and frozen and tasted absolutely delicious. I was so impressed I ordered a month later and this time ordered the scallops again but thought I would try the tuna steaks and salmon steaks, and I wasn't disappointed. The tuna I coated in my own seasoning of crushed Coriander seeds, Fennel seeds, Black pepper corns, and a little sea salt, pan seared and the taste was to die for. I'm not a chef but am just a single dad with severe health issues bringing up 3 small boy's, one is disabled and have to manage my money. For years we have been eating frozen tasteless foods and I became increasingly angry that all this tasty seafood and alike, have been out of my price range and supply, so after watching Gordon Ramsay's Hell's kitchen recently I couldn't help but start drooling at the food that was being produced. So this is where Sykes comes in. The care and quality is exceptional and on my last order I was presently surprised to find I was a Golden Ticket winner, which gives me £30 off my next order, 1 of only 5, so I know exactly what will be ordered this time. With the closure of fish mongers in the high street and supermarkets, fresh fish supplies like Sykes are a welcome relief and just shows how right I was to stop buying pre packaged rubbish from the supermarkets, I mean you don't know how long it's been in the warehouse or how many people have handled it or how many towns, cities or even countries it's traveled through to sit on the shelves, but you know that with Sykes it's fresh and caught fresh and delivered fresh. I'll certainly be returning. Well done.

The fish that arrived was second to none
Okay it was frozen, but to me it is the best way to buy fish
I think their fish is frozen st sourc, but it arrived at my home well packed and still frozen
They use a good courier company, who deliver and take a picture of your delivery
So far all the fish I have bought has been excellent, clean plates all round
The breaded cod was very good and bigger than you get in a supermarket
Cockles !!! I haven’t had these for years, a drop of apple vinegar and a drop of rock salt, what is there not to like?
Yes I will buy from them again, their prices are fair, so that’s it about this review

After our order from Sykes was not delivered on time by the courier (they eventually had to throw it away), the response from Sykes was excellent. It was a shame that the shopping experience was ruined this time by a third party company.

We have bought from here previously and though not cheap, it is superb value compared to the supermarkets. The selection and variety available is first-class, and the product is always good and well presented. Our first-stop for any future fish requirements.

Had my usual scampi order and tried the tuna steaks which were absolutely delicious....pan fried with a little chilli....kept it simple, they were gorgeous x

Order comprised octopus tentacles, whitebait, potted shrimps and cockles. It arrived on time, on 07/01/22. However, after opening the box, I was astonished to see that the freezing date for the octopus was 28/10/20 - 14 months previous - with a use by date of 21/04/22. I considered the octopus to have been frozen for far too long, informed them that I had disposed of it for that reason, and politely asked for a refund for this item alone.They offered me £10 worth of points on my next order. I had already decided there wasn't going to be a next order. So I told them to forget about any refund, copied my complaint to their directors and asked them to delete my contact details from their database. I would add that the whitebait went the same way as the octopus tentacles - into the food waste bin - and that the cockles were utterly tasteless. Only the potted shrimps were ok. Seafood by Sykes have a slick website. I admit to falling for their charms hook, line and sinker, only to regret it it when I was presented with my own personal frozen horror story. Consuming highly perishable seafood that has been in a freezer for 14 months is not the kind of health risk I would ever take. Their defence of this policy is absurd. You have been warned.

Very disappointed with breaded plaice fillets. Breadcrumb coating was very thick and stodgy and whilst the fillets looked big, it was nearly all inedible coating with only a sliver of tasteless fish inside. I emailed Sykes complaining about this product but received no reply. Also the dressed crabs were very small for the price.
