Letting service
We have recently successfully let our property via Sealeys and couldnt have had a better experience. We are new to the world of letting and they guided us every step of the way with help preparing the house ready to be let, finding lovely tenants and will deal with all letting issues for us. They also managed to find great tenants in a very short amount of time even with the christmas period in between for which we are very pleased.
A special thanks to the team, particularly Lesley, Olivia and Margaret for all their help and professionalism throughout our dealings.

Couldn’t recommend Sealeys walker jarvis enough! We had the lovely Olivia and Kaye , they were both so amazing and helped me and my partner begin renting our first ever home. The issues didn’t just appear overnight we have the proof to prove this has been ongoing for years
Extractor fans have been replaced twice. Why keep reporting issues when nothing gets done until the council get involved
We have had this discussion about moving property and as you're fully aware the rental market is way over priced!

Thank you for your review, however, we feel your statement is a misrepresentation of how we have managed the property your partner is currently renting.
We took over the management of the property in January 2020 when we purchased the management portfolio of another agency. We have records to show that any maintenance issues reported to us, since this time, have been met with site visits by one of our team or a contractor and issues have been dealt with. We have never ignored any maintenance issue reports.
The property inspection completed last summer did not find any issues.
Following a report of damp at the beginning of this year two members of our team completed an additional property inspection in February 2024, the findings of which were sent to the landlord for a decision to be made on action going forward and a contractor was booked. It was at this point that it was confirmed the damp proofing at the property was still under guarantee and could only be worked on by the contractors who installed it. Booking this company in to make a site visit proved extremely difficult but was arranged for 10th April.
Despite us working on the issues reported you requested the local council Housing Services Department attend and carry out a survey which they did on 10th April. They confirmed the property is habitable and not a category one. They also stated that the tenants should be working with us to solve any issues.
The contractor who most recently surveyed the property has confirmed there are high readings being obtained internally which are possibly due to penetrating damp, condensation damp and overspill from the bath, which we are in the process of dealing with. They confirmed the condensation damp is due to the lifestyle of the inhabitants at the property. In our opinion, the fact that since the tenancy began the property has become increasingly overcrowded and there are rooms at the property not being used for their original purpose, such as a dining room that is being used a bedroom, has exacerbated the condensation damp issue. Also condensation damp at the property that occurs from the bathroom was made worse by the fact that you failed to report the bathroom extractor fan was faulty and this was only discovered during an inspection by one of our team.
As you are well aware all issues that can be rectified have been completed in the last two months. We are only waiting for work to be completed to the exterior of the property which has been delayed due to the landlord requesting two more quotes in addition to the two we have already obtained, which is his prerogative to do so. Once the landlord chooses a contractor from the quotes we are obtaining and work is completed outside, then the outstanding works to the interior will be completed.
We are working hard with the landlord to rectify the issues at the property. However, if you are not happy with time this issue, that was reported in January 2024, is taking to rectify then your partner is of course welcome to give notice to end the tenancy and find a larger property that may be more suitable for the size of your family.

Sealeys were readily available to help with the process of moving. However, it seems as if they are partnered with a very bad company. To use Sealeys, you would need to be prepared for the ongoing and endless issues of their partner organisation. Anything that was an issue was nothing to do with Sealeys. I hope that there will be no issues as we as tenants under their company.
