Arlene was fantastic! - the whole process was easy and communication was great . . perhaps the entire key was at the outset when there was just a single email sent regarding my inquiry - rather than zillions of them or being bombarded with constant texts offering their services. First class operation all the way.
We recently refinanced our home with Sebonic Financial. In the last 40 years, we have refinanced at least different times our houses indifferent cities. This is the first time, we have completed the entire refinance process for 2 different houses simultaneously with the same company, but in different states in a month or less. It was made possible by coordinated efforts by all the employees involved and their online process.
Special thanks are due to Arlene Masinsin and Mitch Clemens for their diligent follow-up and help. Arlene was patient enough to explain and answer all my questions. Customer Support people were also great and extremely helpful. The rate they offered me was very good, as well. Overall, we are very pleased. Good job!

Oh, had I been able to see the reviews on this company before I started the refinancing process! As mentioned by others, far too little personal communication, far too many requests over and over again for documentation. A process - for a refinance, not a new mortgage - that has taken over FOUR MONTHS! I just pulled the plug on them today. I have financed many other properties including commercial ones and NEVER have been subjected to this aggravation. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your valuable time - LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!
When we first refinanced through Sebonic we had a wonderful experience and recently when the rates went down they were our first choice. This time also we had an excellent experience with them. This time Shawn Croat was our loan officer and Shelly Sequin was our loan coordinator who has done a tremendous job & supported us with the loan closure within the promised / rate lock time. I too would give NEGATIVE STARS if at all possible. My husband and I have perfect credit, my credit score was 790. We’ve been getting the run around from sebonic for two months now. I have continuously had to submit the same documents over and over again. My loan officer refuses to call or speak to me on the phone since she got us to sign up. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. RUN AWAY…do not get fooled by the super nice loan officer who baits you. I will be cancelling my closing set for Tuesday and going with someone else if I cannot hear from SOMEBODY. My loan officer was rude, nasty, harsh, and had no patience and no regard for how important this was for us. I attempted to call her boss and no call back. Emailed her boss, no return email. Will be calling other lenders first thing Tuesday morning.
Can't provide a negative so 1 star will have to do. Started my loan with them in February and in May called Quicken because I kept getting the run around from Sebonic. Closed in June with Quicken, only 1 month, and still have Sebonic asking for the same documents I have provided several times. Save away from this company. They have no customer service, never spoke to my loan officer after he got me to sign up, I was told he is too busy. Run, don't walk away from Sebonic.

I was shopping around for the best interest rate on a 30 year refi when Shawn from Sebonic reached out. I explained to him the interest rate I wanted and some of the terms. Shawn was able to meet my rate and terms and helped expedite the closing of my refinance in just a few weeks. He was a huge help and was very responsive to any questions/concerns we had. Overall a great experience
We started this process over 2 months ago. We have excellent credit and job history. The closing date keeps getting kicked down the road. every 10-14 days they're looking for "updated" statements on EVERYTHING!! No urgency at all. I wish I had done a more thorough research on this company. STAY AWAY. Support your local banker instead.
A zero star if only possible!
Working with one of their agents I was quoted a great rate with closing cost credits. I decided to move forward and began the application process. The online process requires a credit approval. However the next day I was informed the offer would change as part of my income is from a small business and they need to apply a 90 day rate lock which changes the offer.
Sebonic should have asked about this before making me go through the application process and before running a credit check.
I had refinanced only 9 months ago and there was zero issue of qualification yet the Sebonic advisor was adamant about the 90 day lock. I questioned the advisor as to why Sebonic didn't have processes in place to validate information before running credit check and changing the offer? Long story short; the Sebonic advisor didn't want to admit any fault and a written complaint to their customer service dept. went unanswered!
A short while later another Sebonics advisor called asking about why I didn't take the offer. I explained the situation and he said his colleague was wrong to have insisted on a 90 day lock as there was no such policy. Clearly at this point, it showed Sebonics has no consistent training in place nor accountability for inadequate application processes!
As a result I missed out of a great rate and generous lender credit at that time being offered by other lenders!
I have submitted an official complaint to the Federal Consumer Lending Agency. There has been zero feedback from Sebonics and I suspect they will try to weasel out of being at fault.
This company screw up my loan process and leave me in the middle of nowhere and I miss my closing date. No one in this company respond on time and keep you in waiting for a simple decision and updates. If this review has options for minus rating then I will give me -10 rating as the stress they give me during my approval process. I miss my closing deal due to their process and not clear understanding of the loan approval. They are not able to clarify underwriter and has lots of misunderstanding. To me this company need more training to their agents so that other customer like me do not have financials stress due to their process issues and now i have to pay a higher interest rate for next 30 years. They just write s same post everywhere from their customer service but nothing works for this company. I am sorry to say but this company need a more improvement in terms of customer satisfactions.

Worst bait and switch scam I have ever experienced. Was quoted one rate with a $445 cash to close for a refinance.
Went through their application process the same day as the quote and got a call afterwards saying the rate changed a full quarter point higher and the closing costs would be higher as well.
They came back with a quarter point higher and over $8,000 in new closing costs.
Clear case of bait and switch and they did a hard inquiry which dinged my credit.
Will never use them because they lied and clearly have shady business practices.
Looks like they used my application process to figure out how much they could screw me as I have a ton of cash on hand. I could use that cash to pay off the mortgage but wanted to refi with a lower rate.
Complete scam artists.

Horrible Horrible Horrible. Read the bad reviews about Sebonic (aka Cardinal) Financial and BELIEVE IT. The experiences those 1-Star reviewers had are similar to ours... ie. dragging out the process for literally months, no communication- unless we initiated it with them...Yet our credit and work history are stellar. We finally backed-out of our refinance. How this company remains in business is a mystery. The "5 Star" reviews are HIGHLY suspect.
They had 45 days to close and couldn't do it. They will keep asking for conditions that are not possible to obtain. Go with someone else who will fund your loan, it is impossible to get in touch with them and the customer service is terrible.
This is the worst experience I have had on a refinance. There is no sense of urgency. I have asked over 10 times over the last two weeks for a closing/funding date. The senior loan originator on my loan simply ignored my question and not once could get a closing date with underwriting. I continue to lose day after day waiting and waiting for my loan to close. Please go somewhere else where your time is valued.
I wouldn't give them one star because they took 3 and half months to tell me they can't do the loan after providing them documents after documents and they still asking for the same documents over and over again. I dealt with Christopher Germain, Sara Lemoine, Brandon wash. They will promise you everything in the beginning about help you all the way. In the last 3 and half months they only talked to me 3 times regarding refinancing my loan. Stay away from this company they will waste your time.
