Not what is says on the tin

I am going through it now. You’re honestly not on the right program! Everything is written so no as promised one to one. So you’re on your own . I now know two people who believe much is AI! So you ask as questions and it can take three days for a reply. So what I’m now doing is using facebook. There is huge help and far more support to genuine questions. So you get scales and a cook book. I need edification and support! If that’s you don’t waist your time and the health authorities money. It’s a sign up and then read and read and yes ready. No one to talk to at any time! So if you believe you’re going to get support from an expert forget it. You ask a question on a Thursday and get a reply on the next Monday. So you’re not getting three months not even one month of support. Absolutely cash machine exploiting the vulnerable

Now look at the reply carefully! 48 hours to reply. Can you now see the true extent of the problems? If whilst joining up we sign an agreement to stick with it which I am ! Then you understand you’re not getting what they promised. That professional that they promised is not there. It’s a complete sham! So yes I’m sticking with it but there is no way this is right. You are not supported! You’re on your own and left to read. No humans to talk to

Customer service is poor at best health…

Customer service is poor at best health coach doesn’t reply app very rarely works all figures are incorrect how on earth is it possible for someone to do 80,000 steps 38 miles in two hours and 14000 come up as 348 scales don’t link

The NHS are wasting their money on this

I see reviews that mention free scales and free recipe book but I don’t see anything in the app about these. I was referred by my GP through the NHS. I wish I had read the reviews before choosing this company. So far I haven’t seen or heard anything through the app that I didn’t know already. One to one personal coach? Dream on, this is 100% app based and looking at other reviews it’s very much biased towards those who are on the weight loss jabs. I could go on, but realistically I have nothing positive to say.

Referrals to Second Nature through the NHS come through different pathways, and some levels of referral don’t include access to a dedicated health coach or physical items like the digital scales or recipe book. This may be why your version of the programme looks a little different to what you’ve seen mentioned in other reviews.

The NHS version of the programme is focused on providing educational content, healthy lifestyle guidance, and digital tools to help you build sustainable habits at your own pace.

Second Nature hopeless

All my apps — Apple Health, Apple Fitness and the Second Nature App — show the correct step count for any given week. But when I get my weekly email summary, the step count shown is WAY below what I have actually done. When I raised the issue I got hopeless responses from an AI bot. When I demanded a response from an actual human being, I got brushed off again. Hopeless.

Support from my group leader

Support from my group leader. Deliveries arrive on time. Only 4 stars as the app only connects with Google fit and not Samsung health which is what I use.

This is the worst weight reduction…

This is the worst weight reduction program I have ever used. There is no interaction with Second Nature it’s an app with no depth or character. Pumps out daily instructions long winded and fruit less. Recipes do not identify who they are targeted at. No thought for weight lost, diabetes etc.
would never recommend this after 12 weeks of following it.

I've had a very positive experience

I've had a very positive experience with second nature. Customer service is fast and always sort things quickly. Health coach is always there on hand to talk to. I've been with second nature for 2 months and lost 6 pound. Unfortunately I've had to cancel my subscription due to pricing as its become to expensive for me especially towards Christmas. All in all its been a great experience and I would return. I wondered maybe if a deal could be offered to individuals on universal credit on less incomes could be an option. Thanks again.

Fantastic company

In good hands

Second Nature provide a coach and you are in a group of fellow jab users. They also supply a set of Bluetooth scales and a cookery book. I was with them for 7 weeks but had to leave as the cost was soaring and I no longer felt the need to pay the extra for the coach.
I'm glad I went with them initially as I need to be confident in taking the first steps to a new me.

Professional service

Second Nature has been professional, thorough and clinical in all dealings. The app is great with really helpful things to change habits. Medication comes on time with clear instructions. Your health coach is great and supportive

Second nature - give it a go!

Second nature are a great company to work with. Everyone I have spoken to has been very helpful and supportive. The thought of starting the medicated programme was scary but once you start it’s fine.

The only issue I had so far was getting the medication delivered initially. It was DPD that delivered and I had to be in to give a pin and for a photograph of the delivery to be taken at an open front door. There was no option to deliver to a neighbour which wasn’t great as I work full time but we got it sorted eventually!

Really didn’t like the AI coaching

Really didn’t like the AI coaching - lacked empathy and stilted conversations. What happened to the lovely “real” coaches 🥲 Also never received my promised free recipe book. Cancelled after one week. Disappointing.

It is reassuring that there is someone on the other end to help support you. Whether it being the coach, clinical team, the group of people you’re on the journey with etc… The app has many features that is useful too.

A pleasant surprise

The second nature course was recommended to me via the NHS after an annual health check at my GP surgery.
Tbf, I was a little sceptical. The health check showed raised cholesterol and a life style change was advised.
The course itself provided a set of scales, a recipe book and an app. The covering letter in a really nice way said lose some weight fatty, we can help you do it !What use will that do ? Well, that was 6 months ago. The course just advised not necessarily on what to eat but also when to eat it. At the start of the course I was 16st 2lbs. Today I am 13st 12lbs and having embraced the guidance from Second Nature I expect to drop a few more pounds going forward.
It's not that difficult. The changes are not major but I am really impressed with the results. I would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of giving it a go. The only downside is that I need to buy new t shirts as I have dropped a size !

A very positive life changing experience

So far my Second Nature journey has been excellent. I am just starting my fifth week and, after feeling rather nervous before I started, have found it all very easy. I have felt really supported all along by my coach who checks in with me to make sure I am happy with everything and also she makes very useful and helpful suggestions on the group chat. The daily reading/suggested tasks really get you thinking and again are very helpful. I feel confident that I will reach my goal and more importantly, will have changed my whole approach to food and therefore be able to keep the weight off forever. I have been very pleasantly surprised at how good it all is, I just wish I’d started several months ago when my son suggested it!

Highly recommend

I decided I needed to lose weight once and for all and was referred to Second Nature by my health insurance provider
These guys are great competive pricing for my Mounjaro which includes an app with a real nutritionist and health coach who help you all the way. They send scales which link to the app which helps monitor your true weight loss a long the way and even a recipe book with fantastic meals that are well balanced healthy and nutritious.
Only just finishing the first 5 weeks and the weight is dropping off nicely. Having a health coach via the app is brilliant
Honestly if you are looking to lose weight then use these guys you won't regret it. I certainly don't!!

A review requested from the 'founder'.

I received an email from the founder to leave a review so I am doing that. It's not been great so far. They and the delivery lost my delivery last week and I have still not received a new delivery date. They finally told me it’s being delivered to me on Monday free of charge, but I already paid for it. How obnoxiously rude.

With the delivery issues in mind, I am now seriously questioning the quality of the medication, how its stored, both by second nature and by the delivery company as this has been the weakest medication I have had. It feels like it's gone off as it's not as potent as the one I bought from the local chemist.

The app is full of AI generated crap that you can easily find off the internet. I asked the 'health coach' for some advice and I am still waiting for them to give it to me. All I got was questions but no answers.

They also charge more than my local chemist, which is surprising. They put their prices up in October even though they said they wouldn't. I am seriously considering of stopping as there's no benefit whatsoever with this company.

On the plus side, I got cheap Chinese free scales, to go with my other two scales that I already have.

Update 6th Oct. I was told it was going to be delivered today, waited all day and at 4pm I was told my order was on hold. Just called up their pharmacy directly. They told me they don’t deliver on Mondays! Why didn’t second nature already know this!?!?!?!?

Update 29th October: they still haven’t made it right, I am cancelling my subscription in November.

Update 11th November: I’ve decided to leave Second Nature. They requested additional information below but have made no attempts to contact me, if anything I keep having to contact them. THEY KEEP ON TELLING ME THAT THEY REPLACED THE LOST PEN AT NO EXTRA COST TO ME and they act like I should be so thankful. That, the fact that they have made no attempt to contact me, the fact that the health councillor never got back to me, all in all I would give them 0 if I could. STAY AWAY!

We’d really like to get this sorted for you as soon as possible.

Just to reassure you, all of our medication comes directly from the manufacturer to our partner pharmacy, and it’s shipped using packaging that keeps it within the correct temperature range during delivery. This ensures it arrives in the same safe and effective condition as when it left the manufacturer.

We also froze our prices throughout September and have absorbed as much of the recent cost increases as possible. Unfortunately, all providers have had to adjust pricing due to the manufacturer’s list price for the medication increasing across the board, something that’s outside of our control. We’ve done everything we can to keep prices as stable and fair as possible for our customers.
