Ii has an easy to navigate website with many useful features. When I have contacted them by telephone I have had minimal waiting time to speak with a staff member. My recent conversation was with Fahana (spelling?) who was helpful and friendly as well as efficient and knowledgeable. I was dealing with Jodie today regarding my account, she sorted out my account problems with a substantial financial benefit to myself, thanks very much.

Since I have been working under IR35 I have had many issues aligning my pension payments from my Umbrella company to ii with the paperwork that is required. Seems an over complicated process between an Umbrella company deducting payments each week and paperwork I have to submit each week and ii process all of this information. Regually you have sent money back to my umbrella company before you have even looked at the paperwork.
Spoke to Jennifer B at ii today who could not have been more helpfull which included the paperwork required and filling it out, how to complete for carry forward for previous years, and look at an investment that is temporarily suspended. Many issues resolved in one phone call and have to thank Jennifer for excellent customer service, where each of my concerns were addressed in full.
However, I ultimately believe the process in place is overly burdomsome for those on IR35 contracts and paid weekly, but that is not the fault of II's customer service team where I recieved quality advice. As a side note I can also say that II's Sipp is very easy to trade and manage your investments, with a large range of instruments to select from.
I was reasonably happy with ii overall, and would have rated this company 10 out of 10 when i was self employed where i could make 3 of 4 lump sum payments a year and only need to complete 3 of 4 sets of paperwork each year. Now each week is a new form has to be sent that requires printing off, filling out, scanning and sending back via email. Pensions should be easy to add money to, but that is just not the case for those working under an Umbrella company. Imagine you had to fill out a form each time you went shopping, bought something online, made a car payment, you would soon become unhinged. 52 to sets of paperwork so i can manage my own pension, where the process regually breaks down.
So now my rating is 6 out of 10 under my new government enforced IR35 working arrangement.
Please Interactive Investor look into this, at least make it a web page that can be digitally signed each week, the current method is in the dark ages in terms of technolgy. You do everthing else so well, why not one verification where i confirm that my umbrella is sending salary sacrificed money directly to you.
Interactive Investor, if you were to address my concerns, you would gain thousands of new customers working under IR35 contracts especially in the rail industry. Direct debits will not work as employeees working under IR 35 do not get paid when thay are sick or on holiday, so no umbrella company will authorise a direct debit that may not be covered. So we are stuck with this archaic system that has led to high degrees of frustration, 10's of hours on calls between my Umbrella company and ii acting as an intermeditery so i can save for retirement just seems wrong. I personally know dozens of people who have been frustrated by this from several SIPP providers, and now just use ISA's for pension planning.
So this review is 5 starts for Jennifer B and the excellent customer service team. 3 stars for Interative investor that would be 5 stars if it were not for this stupid system of getting money into my pension in a tax efficient manor when i am an IR35 employee paid weekly. For a company with such an excellent platform, resolving this should be a breeze.

Having seen a significant icrease in the share price I decided to sell my holding.
