My phone was downgraded from £175 to £50 following inspection. I didn't agree with some of the feedback (like saying the phone doesn't have a good battery despite the fact that it was reported as fair condition and over 3 years old) but I was ok to receive my phone back and sell it someone else. I then found out that I would have to arrange my own collection for the device because the device 'differs from what was declared in your initial submission'. This is not true since everything I put in the submission was still true when inspected, it was other things (that weren't an option to include in the assessment) which were provided as feedback.

After calling the company and explaining the situation I was met with cold and unsympathetic customer service.

I think I'm gonna stick to selling to CeX

We want to clarify that the revised offer was not due to the phone’s age or ordinary wear. When our team inspected the device, they found clear signs of major structural repair work, including the original white housing having been replaced with a black one. That is a significant alteration, and it has a direct impact on the phone’s resale value.

As explained during the assessment process, we only buy phones that remain in their original condition. Because the device had been structurally changed, and that was not reflected in the original declaration, we could not honour the first quote.

Any reputable electronics buyer carrying out proper checks would take the same repair history into account when valuing the phone.

We understand you chose not to accept the revised offer, and in that case, the phone was returned so you were free to sell it elsewhere.

We are sorry you were unhappy with the outcome, but the revised valuation was based on the actual condition of the device we received.

Need to provide clearer instructions re what to include in package

Because my phone was 'excellent' condition and the prepaid label is ready email said "Include accessories: only send the device itself, no chargers or cases" I didn't send the charging cable and was deducted £15. I guess I should have just got them to return the phone and gone through the process again (making sure to include the cable) but as it had cost me £10.45 to send 'Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm' (because I wanted the package insured more than £100) it would have ended up costing me more.

This company is so dishonest

This company is so dishonest. Isent two watches in to sell, they quoted a price then when they received them they downed the prices by over £90. I read the criteria carefully and one was that the battery had to be over 81% which both where but they said it was the age.
Today I received payment from ioutlet who gave me £250. Think carefully before you use these shisters 😁
