Choosing on line was simple. Ordering was straightforward, but I needed help with the delivery date. I rang the customer service and spoke to Paul. The help and service I received was brilliant. My call was also followed up with an email letting me know the blinds were ready, then on their way. I am so grateful to Paul to have received such very good, patient and understanding service. I was very impressed by the company’s personal and thorough way of handling a problem. I received my blinds within a week, they were perfectly packed, I am thrilled with them.

Truly terrible blinds and service
Truly terrible blinds and service. I ordered 2 blinds, they are both too narrow and the fittings are incorrect on both. 1 had such a short chain I can't reach to pull it despite explaining it was 3 metres from the floor on the order. Not only that but the joiner placement means the bIind won't pull down properly.
The second blind, also too narrow, does not have a joiner on the plastic chain.
I had to pay someone to install them.
Now Shade and Story are insisting on photos of the top of the blinds (they've had photos of the bottom of the blind next to a tape measure) next to a tape measure so they can see the fittings too. How can one person climb a ladder to reach the top of a blind 3m from the floor, hold a tape and take a photo at the same time?
Every photo I send them they then ask for a different one. I have asked for clarity and have had no response.
They have no interest in resolving this issue.

We're sorry to hear that you're unhappy with your experience.
The photographs requested were needed to verify the measurements and fittings so that we could fully investigate the concerns raised regarding the blind widths and provide the factory with the evidence required to assess whether the blinds were manufactured correctly. We appreciate that obtaining these photos can be more challenging where blinds are installed at height.
Regarding the control chain length, all blinds supplied in the UK must comply with child safety legislation. As a manufacturer and retailer, we are legally required to ensure that chains and cords are supplied in accordance with these regulations, which are designed to reduce the risk of harm to young children. These requirements apply to every order, regardless of whether children live in or visit the property, and we are not permitted to bypass them on a case-by-case basis. Where installation height information is not available, control chains are automatically manufactured to comply with these regulations, which is why the chain supplied may be shorter than the full drop of the blind.
We have since responded directly by email with a full explanation of the child safety requirements and have also clarified the specific photographs required to investigate both the chain length and sizing concerns. These include images showing the bracket-to-bracket measurement and the fabric width measurement, which are needed to determine whether the blinds have been manufactured within specification.
We remain committed to reviewing the evidence provided and working with you towards a resolution once the required information has been received. We do want to get this resolved for you as soon as we can.

My Order #000176512. I ordered 2 vertical blinds & was delivered on 11 Sept. The fitter just installed 2 vertical blinds for me on 12 Sept. The one in the bedroom works perfectly, but the one in the living room had an issue. I could only open & close the curtain, they didn't slide smoothly when I draw them & the slats won’t rotate to let the sunlight in.
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment & frustration regarding the unresolved issue with my curtains. It has been a full week now, and I have received absolutely NO updates, follow-up investigations, or replies from your side. I have always believed that your company is highly reputable, which makes this substandard level of service incredibly disheartening. If this matter is not properly resolved within the next three days, I will be left with a useless product and no other alternative but to demand a full refund.I expect your immediate attention to this matter.

Roman Blind & Roller Blind
We’ve used Shade & Story on two occasions now. The first order was for a roman blind and this time for a roller blind. Before we ordered the blinds we used the sample ordering service which is excellent. We are very pleased with the quality of both blinds although both have niggles with the chains. The roman blind chain is very short and fiddly to use. The roller blind chain is on the left side despite our order definitely stating it be on the right side. Despite the chain issues we are very pleased with the service & quality.

I was happy with the ordering process…
I was happy with the ordering process and product except that the quality control was lacking. I received my 4 blinds with one that came without a handle and the other being designed different to the others. I was still able to make it work but I do now have one that has no handle. I did email them 3 weeks ago to inform them of this but still have not had a response.

Good quality product. We Made a repeat purchase having put the blinds on two windows during the very hot weather and they help to reflect some of the heat.
We are fitting these blinds to all the windows throughout the house, they look good and they work well
