This place had great reviews on Google but my experience wasn't great. We agreed a time to come test ride a BMW 6 GT. When we arrived the car was quiet dirty from the inside and Akeel (the sales guy) said we can't take the car for test ride unless we agree to buy it, which was very weird. How can I agree to buy a car if I can't even test drive it! We had a bit of an awkward stand off after the guy said test ride the car somewhere else and come back when you want to buy it. We just politely left and never going back there again.

Where to start… I purchased a car from Akeel at Shawn dream. All was great pre-purchase. I traveled from the north of Scotland to collect the car and drove away early on the Monday morning. Had the car for about 2 hours before the faults started kicking in. First was a check engine warning for low pressure in the EGR system, no big deal, it’s a diesel, it happens when the car has been sat for any length of time. What really got me was being sat at the side of the road having broken down on the Thursday morning. There was a clip missing from the fuel line that holds it to the injector. So it had pored diesel over the top of the engine. Having now had it repaired, the elbow bend that attaches to the injector had been jammed into the top of the injector to hold in in place rather than replace the clip. Pull this kind of thing with a petrol car and it’s likely to catch fire and kill someone. Thankfully diesel doesn’t ignite like that. Because I now had diesel all over the top of the engine I also discovered that I had pressure leaks from 2 injector seals. I’ve called to try and give them a chance to rectify the issues but they didn’t care. First time I was told that the guy who deals with the mechanic side of things was out and they’d phone back, no call back. Next I was told the warranty would cover it, within 14 days of purchase it does not. I was then told to send the invoice, still not heard back. These cowboys couldn’t run a decent bath, let alone a car dealership. If your considering buying from them please look elsewhere. The prices are good but you’ll pay for it in repairs.

In Jan 2023 I bought a 19 reg Discovery Sport with 81000 miles that had service history, inspected and to inc 12 months MOT and a fresh service. They took my part exchange and rest if the balance in cash. I drove home in the vehicle and began to smell engine fumes in the cabin. I thought this to be from a vehicle in front of me.
The next morning a little after 5am I arrived at my employer's multi storey car park to find clouds of blue smoke behind me as I parked up.
I returned the vehicle a few hours later to Shawn Dream Cars. There was by now black oil dripping from one of the exhausts.
I eventually was able to drive my old car while they carried out their own investigation. I returned 2 days later as I hadn't heard from them. They had replaced the turbo and explained the cars was all good. I was not confident at all by now.
I cancelled the sale and received my refund minus their admin fee and have kept my reliable old car.
I only wish I hadn't put half a tank of fuel into the Disco.

The SDC team was AMAZING , they helped me out and went above and beyond to make sure I got into the car I wanted ! Thank you soooo much SDC team ! I'll definitely be sending people straight to him !

Stay away, only after your money. Poor after care service.

Be careful of Google reviews you may see for Shawn Dream Cars. Yesterday I counted 52 five-star reviews all labelled New/a day ago, all written in a very similar style with short phrases and accurate spelling. It seems unlikely that a garage would receive 52 genuine five-star reviews in 24 hours.

Car sold with full service history and two keys. Took money and then couldn’t produce service history and only one key. Said car was serviced week before but couldn’t produce documentation and when we had it checked it was clear it hasn’t been service and also had a bald tyre. Steer clear. Car has had one service in 2018!!!! Car clearly not checked over prior to selling. AA Dealer Promise investigating and now taking them to small claims court. Not what you’d expect from a dealership.

Travelled 2 hours to buy a car I was told was immaculate condition. paid a deposit prior to travelling on arrival the car was far from immaculate with a scuffed bumper fogged up lights front and rear . Very disappointed . The staff offered a two hundred and fifty pound discount for a second hand part I could only find a second light online five hundred pounds. I walked away thankfully, I felt very pressured by these guys . please beware of what they tell you or try to sell you

First time properly purchasing a car without a finance agreement and it was so easy with Shawn Dream Cars. I dealt with Akeel right off the bat and he was so helpful with all my questions, even when I called him numerous times!

I initially went to view the car after seeing the details online. The pricing was competitive and I'd already read a lot of good reviews about them. I went down on my lunch and was greeted by Akeel who was really polite and helpful. He took me to see the car and stayed whilst I had a quick look around. I did point out a few minor things, (alloy scrapes, stone chips etc) but nothing you wouldn't expect with buying a used car.

The great thing was is that he got all the minor damages repaired for me and did a service included. He also had it MOT'd recently which meant no hassle doing this mid-year.

Happy with everything, I went ahead with the sale. I drove it home and it ran smoothly. A couple of days later the engine light did come on due to one of the O2 Sensors being a little faulty, but the next day I was back at the dealership and they fitted me with a brand new one as part of my Warranty.

Honestly couldn't recommend them enough! Thanks guys!

P.S. A special mention for the staff in the garage.

I had a fantastic experience with Akeel and the team at shawndreamcars - I wanted to buy a car and the process was made so simple, the staff were very friendly and there was no pressure to buy, they were helpful, great knowledge and nothing seemed to be too much trouble, two days after I bought the car I realised that the parcel shelf was missing, I phoned, expecting to be met with indifference but no, come down I was advised and we’ll sort it straight away, they were as good as their word and when I’m in the market for another car I will go there first.
My experience was so good I give them 5 ⭐️

We had a great experience at Shawn Dream Cras today, the service was outstanding and all our questions were helpfully answered by Waqar. A great salesmen, provided us with the right guidance, advice and humour. Highly recommend him!

UPDATE: 26th JULY 2021
Shawn Dream Cars wanted us to travel a round trip of 6 hours 22 minute round trip (320 miles) TWICE !!! as we would have to leave the car with him and then collect when repaired... instead... we agreed that he would send us the parts which needed replacing and we would get them fitted ourselves.
Shawn Dream Cars sent parts to us... THE WRONG parts. frustrated and disappointed we put it all down to experience and dealt with the repairs ourselves.
I consider myself a fair 'reviewer' but this company has no boundaries when it is faced with paying for its mistakes. Maybe you will be lucky and buy a car from Shawn Dream Cars that is fit for purpose.

Early April 2021 - I spoke to Shawn about purchasing a used Nissan Qashqai Tekna and having it delivered to us, for my daughter and her new born son. Shawn reassured me over and over again via many telephone calls that the car was in good condition and there was nothing wrong with it. In fact Shawn also gave us a 6 month warrantee with the car.
The car was delivered and over the next few days we noticed problems, we had the RAC warranty look at it, they told us we just bought it and the warranty would not cover us and to contact the car dealer, the RAC listed that the drive shaft needs replacing, the window washer container is leaking, the boot opening panel is hanging off, the reversing sensors do not work, the brake pads and discs need replacing and the Aux plug does not work.
My daughter has contacted Shawn and asked him for a refund or repair. todays date is 20th April 2021, within the 30 day Consumer Rights Act 2015 (in force from 1st October 2015)

Terrible. Purchased a car which turned out to have a number of things wrong with it. Poor customer service. I would never buy a car from this place. Stay well clear
