Sister Ray Avis 

This is a great record shop with a brilliant and varied selection of stock. I have found some real gems here during my many visits over the years. However, the major downside of this place is that more often than not, some of the staff here can be extremely surly, condescending, unhelpful, patronising or simply just plain rude. On more than just a few occasions, I've seen members of staff behind the counter sharing little private jokes in whispered tones and childishly smirking away at each other as a result when in plain sight of the customers they are serving, myself included. Just the other day, I saw one particularly sour-faced individual aggressively asking a customer "Do you want the receipt?' after he'd made a purchase and then slamming it down in front of him without a word as the poor customer had the temerity to say he did. Why would you need to ask a customer if they wanted a receipt-surely that goes without saying? Just plain rude.
Certainly, not all the staff here are as unpleasant, but it is a real shame that some are, as it can make shopping here a pretty dismal and off putting experience.

I ordered 3 vinyl albums on RSD 26. The order was despatched swiftly and was well packaged.
However, the good work of Sister Ray is spoiled by their poor choice of courier.
Royal Mail are the worst couriers. I was given a four hour expected delivery window.
It finally arrived six and a half hours late.
Royal Mail cost them 2 stars.

Bought ‘Nice’ from the Nice. Excellent quality to my surprise, due to its age. Very helpful lady at the counter told me that it was second hand, so I had to take this into account.
Bisides, according a stamp at the inner sleeve it belonged to Jed Williams; how Nice! Wonderful shop, good atmosphere. Amsterdam could use a couple those record shops.

Had to contact them few days after order was made to ask about shipping. Was told item not in stock and that 3 copies of this item were ordered from their supplier. Zero communication 2 weeks later and no reply to email. Had to open dispute with PayPal to get my money back.

I can't stop buying unofficial/bootleg CDs by The Who, it's costing me a fortune. I was searching on eBay and found yet another one "Live in London, Paris and Felixstowe." I decided to do a wider internet search as it was quite expensive. I first came across Townsend Records who were selling the item for around a fiver cheaper. However, when I went to checkout I saw they wanted silly money for basic shipping, so I carried on my search. I found Sister Ray, who to my delight, were not only selling the disc for a good price, but were also charging normal postage costs. I went ahead and ordered at around 1pm. The CD was dispatched same day and I received it this morning, less than 48 hours after ordering. Fantastic service and great value for money. Will use again.

unfortunately my record turned up with a bent sleeve, Sister Ray replied to my email within a few hours and told me I could keep the record free of charge along with a complete refund, great customer service , I wish more company's were this helpful, highly recommend seller

I always use Sister Ray to purchase my vinyl. As a physical shop the staff are friendly, open to all genres, knowledgable and the shop has all new releases (both vinyl and CD), huge back catalogue sections, special editions, Dinked releases, rare secondhand records, bargain sale sections of both vinyl and CDs and my choice for Record Store Day as they are always stocked up with plenty of the exclusive releases and super organised on the day. As an online shop the site is easy to navigate and the buying process a breeze, with delivery normally arriving either on or sometimes before release date in secure packaging, never had a damaged or late parcel, but communication from the shop is always great. If you are ever in London (or on Instagram) and collect vinyl then 100% check out Sister Ray.

Every single time I want a vinyl, they have it. Every single time I want a pre order that’s sold out everywhere else, they still have one. Every single time the vinyl arrives in pristine condition. I love this store!

I have placed 2 orders with Sister Ray Records in recent weeks and both have been delivered swiftly, well packaged and I would have no problem in recommending them. Brilliant service.

Both my ordered contained boxed sets of vinyl, so quite heavy packages, both these were well packaged to keep the records protected.

I came across them via web search and found their prices to be very good in comparison to many others. Another positive for me is that they are clear on what they do and don't have in stock when you browse their site and place an order. I am getting a little frustrated with some stores not indicating an item is out of stock - so you click on it, add it to the cart, pay for it and then get told they don't actually have it! Sister Ray get top marks from me for not doing that and keeping their website updated on stock.

I don't usually like ordering from online companies I am unfamiliar with, but Sister Ray had an album in stock that I couldn't find anywhere else, so I took a chance. Sister Ray didn't disappoint. The album arrived about 3 days after placing my order and there was no problem whatsoever. I would have no worries about ordering from them again in the future, and I probably will.

I’ve been looking for a copy of My Name Is Michael Holbrook, and this was the first place that actually said it was in stock. I didn’t have high hopes, but ordered it anyway. A few days later the order cancelled, as the stock was an error, but the customer service was immensely helpful and quick in ensuring I got a refund and found the record elsewhere. Not only a fast and polite business but happy to help you source what you are looking for elsewhere. Very good experience.

I've bought a couple of vinyl albums from Sister Ray recently online. Albums have both arrived in perfect condition, prices are good, delivery is quick, and to top it off there's a nice hand written thank you inside the box. They also have some exclusives and lots of stuff from new bands. Really happy.

Always prompt and records are well packaged for delivery. Competitive prices make Sister Ray a dependable alternative to the multi-nationals.
