This is an honest review from 3 years…
This is an honest review from 3 years post fit.
We had all our windows (maybe about 12-15 windows) changed in 2023. It was a big job and, even though the quality of the windows is excellent, we were very unlucky with the men who were our fitters on the day. I appreciate not all of their fitters were like this, but the main fitter was quite obviously an alcoholic who was being incredibly rude to his partner. I’m still finding problems all these years later.
Our first issue was that our front door was fitted with an internal door knob (?!) as the door pull. Even the contact at SJB couldn’t believe this at the time, but yes they literally screwed on an internal door knob to our front door. This has left a round scratch mark on our front door (which in itself cost around £6k!) which should have been perfect. Attempts to rectify this and ask them to respray the door were met with ‘we can’t do this, we can only paint it on site but that will leave a paint mark’, so we ended up leaving it at the time. I still think we should have had a perfect front door fitted at 6k.
Some windows were left poorly finished / sealed and have incurred water damage over time. Some windows were cannot lock properly as the locks have been fitted incorrectly.
What has prompted this review, almost 3 years later, is that I’ve finally found the source of some water damage elsewhere on our walls. It turns out that some of our windows were literally foamed surrounding the window box, and then painted, leaving a completely permeable surface for water to seep through. We’ve had SJB back a couple of times but we keep finding new problems.
The quality of the windows are excellent in itself, but we’ve been let down by poor workmanship from our initial fitters.

Dear Miss Cassidy,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
Whilst we're pleased to hear that you're happy with the quality of the windows themselves, we're very sorry to hear that your overall experience has fallen short of the standards we strive to achieve.
We take your comments regarding the installation and the conduct of our fitters very seriously, as this is certainly not the level of professionalism or workmanship we expect from our team.
We also appreciate how frustrating it must be to discover further issues some years after the original installation, particularly given the size of your project and the investment involved.
We would welcome the opportunity to look into the concerns you've raised, particularly regarding the sealing and water ingress, so that we can better understand the issues and establish what action may be required.
Please contact our office directly so that we can review the history of your installation and discuss the next steps.
Thank you again for your feedback. We genuinely value all customer experiences and are committed to addressing concerns wherever possible.
Best wishes,
The SJB Sash Windows Team

Quality windows and excellent installation.
From the initial appointment to discuss my window requirements, to the recent installation, everything went smoothly and I’m delighted with the finished job that SJB Sash Windows have completed.
I had 7 Edwardian sash window replacements and a set of Edwardian style French doors. The price and quality of the product was competitive, compared to the other 4 companies I had considered.
The surveyor, Terry, was highly knowledgeable, professional and was able to answer the many questions I had. I decided on Accoya wood windows as they have a very good material lifespan.
The fitting of the windows and doors took place as promised, and took a week to remove the old ones and install the new.
The fitters, Kelly and Dominic, were excellent! They arrived on time every day and their fitting skills are exceptional. They were courteous, respectful and tidy and clearly take pride in their work. I am delighted with the finished project.
Next year I will have the windows in the front of my house replaced and will certainly be using SJB Sash Windows to do the work. Thank you!

Professional job
The whole process was professional and painless, apart from a slight delay at the start when the fitter got injured on another job. The surveyor obviously knew what he was talking about and the fitter in a marvellous job. He kept the whole thing contained, was very helpful, and got on with it without any fuss. The windows look great.

SJB were communicative, professional and helpful throughout the process of organising and then fitting my new uPVC sash windows. They offered expert advice tailored to my specific needs, and went above and beyond when working with electricity contractors to ensure the relocation of an electricity cable affecting the installation was completed safely and to time.

Quite simply the best!
It is many years since I have worked with such a professional and capable business. The preproduction process was meticulous with me in control of all sign offs. The windows and doors from the factory fitted and operated perfectly first time, fantastic quality. The team of installers Bobby, Mitch and Jack were polite, hard working, highly skilled and punctual, protecting our rooms and tidying after each day. Overall the service from estimation to completion was faultless. Quite simply the best!
