Absolutely brilliant service.
I had never visited this Optician before but needed an urgent appointment as my GP felt that I may have had a bleed behind my eye. I was given an appointment the same day and with all the latest technology was given a diagnosis and advice.
I cant thank, or praise them enough.

Referred to Simon Kleyn under the MECS system.
Efficient speedy service, problem quickly sorted and remedy supplied.

From initial appointment, lens replacements and getting new glasses everyone was professional and helpful. The premises are immaculate. In addition to helping with my sight Simon identified another issue unrelated to my eyes and passed it to my GP. Definitely going the extra mile. Highly recommended.

I had a sore eye for about 3 weeks , contacted doctor who referred me to mr kleyn I was seen the same day . Excellent examination , found infection , given antibiotic gel . Now on the mend thanks to mr kleyn

First class service. Simon and his wonderful staff dealt with a serious problem with my retina . Within 48 hours I had laser surgery which probably saved the sight in one eye. Many thanks to this efficient and well equipped team.

I had a problem on Christmas Eve and was directed by my doctor's practice to Simon. Although he wasn't on the premises he was able, with the help of his very efficient assistant, to photograph the back of my eye and view it remotely. He then very promptly got back to me with reassurance. After Christmas he followed up with a telephone call arranging a face to face consultation, where he was able to further examine me and let me know his diagnosis. At all times Simon and his staff were courteous and caring. Well done Simon and staff.

Simon has been most helpful to me as I woke with terrible pain in one eye. Because of Tier 4 he was able to talk to me on the phone to discuss my symptoms and then kindly referred me to the Eye Clinic in Colchester. The Eye Clinic were able to see me in a couple of hours and so I received treatment within 8 hours of first getting in touch with Simon. I’m most grateful to him as he kept in touch with me throughout.

My GP referred me to Simon as I have been suffering with very dry eyes for some months now. Great service from Simon and the receptionist. Simon was very thorough and explained what he was seeing, thank you.

Thank you to Simon Kleyn for fitting me in especially in these difficult times and even though he is not my normal optician. I was having irritation in the corner of my eye and on examination he found several tiny eye lashes scratching me causing said irritation. He removed these for me quickly and painlessly and sorted my sore eye out very swiftly and without any fuss. I would definitely recommend Mr Kleyn. Thankyou.

Simon saw me on the day I telephoned regarding an extremely itchy eye which I had been experiencing for sometime. After a short eye test he examined the eye thoroughly and diagnosed Eczema on the eyelid and advised me to use the cream I already have for the condition very carefully. He was very helpful. All those working in the clinic took every precaution to ensure Covid safety.

I was referred to Simon by my Doctor so I didn’t know what to expect. I couldn’t have been more happy with my first experience at Simon’s. The receptionist is very welcoming and their safety measures against COVID are one of the best I have come across.

I was referred by my GP as I had a sore red eye. Simon saw me immediately and was chatty and friendly whilst discussing my symptoms.
He took pictures of my eye and emailed them to the hospital. I was contacted later that day for an appointment in Colchester.

I felt I had something floating in my left eye at the weekend so left it till Monday morning and contacted Simon Kleyn. I got an appointment that afternoon and he did a very thorough examination and told me it was a floater. He explained the images taken and told me what to be aware of 're my retina. Highly professional and very satisfied with the experience.

I had experienced changes in my vision in the past 24 hours which I suspected were new floaters. Having contacted my usual optician, I was told they had no appointments for the foreseeable future but that I needed to been seen by a MECS practitioner within the next 24 hours or go to A and E. I researched the internet and found Simon’s practice. I cannot thank them enough for returning my phone call late on a Friday afternoon to offer me an immediate appointment. Having arrived at 17.07 the reception team were welcoming and clearly expecting me. Simon was brilliant at explaining the tests I would undergo and equally brilliant at explaining the results to me. I want to express my sincere thanks to this team who facilitated a consultation for me and were able to provide me with total reassurance so late on a Friday afternoon. I know they would have done this at any time but for me to have this peace of mind over the weekend and to avoid a visit to A and E under the current circumstances is very special. Thank you so much.
