I did not authorise this company to act for me
If I could give a lower rating, I would.
I received a letter stating that I had instructed Slater and Gordon to handle a mis-sold car finance claim on my behalf. I contacted them immediately because I had never instructed them or signed anything authorising them to act for me.
Their response was that I must have simply forgotten. They then sent me a screenshot of a supposed signature that does not resemble my signature at all. Despite disputing the instruction, I was also told that cancelling the claim would cost me £250 plus VAT.
I found their response dismissive, as though I was being dishonest or had forgotten instructing them. That is absolutely not the case. I have never authorised this company to act on my behalf.
This situation has seriously affected my mental health, and I am now in the process of reporting the matter to Action Fraud. I would strongly advise anyone contacted by this company to check carefully what has allegedly been submitted or signed in their name.

Haley Reeves (of Slater and Gordon Lawyers) was first rate...
In the handling of my car crash compensation claim I would like to say that it was Haley Reeves who led the claims process with enormous diligence and persistence which resulted in precisely the compensation for which Slater and Gordon had petitioned against a recalcitrant international corporate insurers. This was a wonderful result.
Haley's advice to me was at all times supportive, clear and direct. Seriously impressive.

it took them six years to get me…
it took them six years to get me compensation for a traffic accident where the insurer admitted liability immediately. They had a medical done too early and for several years lost my expense receipts. They left me without a caseworker, making it almost impossible to contact them. They eventually got someone thoroughly competent to sort it out.
