Why?
If you genuinely enjoy monitoring when students go to the bathroom, I think I have a pretty good argument as to who needs to be monitored instead.

Smartpass seems good at first. As a student using Smartpass for 3 years, I can guarantee that this is torture for both teachers and students.
Let me explain. In Smartpass, your school only allows a maximum amount of passes, for me it was 2. You had to put where you were leaving from, and where you were going to. Then you had to show it to your teacher, and then they'd let you go.
First of all, what if we need to go to the bathroom more than twice? There are some people who need to go multiple times due to certain conditions.
Second of all, whenever we want to go to the bathroom, we have to make a pass, hold up our hand and wait for the teacher to call on us, show it to them, and then go to the bathroom. Also add logging into the chromebook/device which takes an additional 2 minutes. Some of my friends wet their pants because of how much time it took.
Third of all, it's just torture for both students and teachers. You can only let out 2 people at a time from all classes to one location. 1 person per gender. So for the 1st floor bathroom, only 1 boy and girl from every single class downstairs, can go at once. What is the logic behind this? Teachers then have to monitor all passes, 'cause some doofuses forget to end their pass.
All in all, SmartPass sucks. I thought it would be a good idea at first, but even the school slowly let go of it.

It's horrible that schools are desensitized to invading kids' privacy. I get that some kids would break the trust of teachers in terms of passes, but we don't have to ALL suffer the consequences. Besides, it's creepy tracking when LITERAL CHILDREN are being watched by a GROWN ADULT. DO YOU SEE THE PROBLEM, THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM?!
Teachers are abusing this app...
I recently learned that some teachers use this app in the wrong way, tracking when people's periods are happening. That is creepy, not what it's made for, it also makes kids nervous to ask to use the bathrooms, which causes UTIs, not good at all...
Apparently tracking kids to the bathroom is now normal. I only get 2 per day and I often find myself trying to hold it in as long as I can just to save passes. If we need to grab something suddenly? GO WASTE A PASS. I HATE my data being collected which is why I use firefox. And to the adults defending it, how would you like it if you only got 2 passes to anywhere that are stored at work? I cant opt out, I cant use a physical pass, I cant just get trust which I could in elementary. If you support smartpass, you are just making surveillance and data collection of children against their will normalized.
This is a horrible app. Why do I need to get digital permission do use the bathroom (which is considered a basic human need.. by the way) its dehumanizing to have my bathroom time tracked and logged in a cloud system, which is mediocre at best. Even prisons don't log how long people spend in the bathroom. Most people will claim "student safety!" yet it does quite the opposite, i've had 2 urinary tract infections and have had to dehydrate myself due to running out of passes.
Doesnt help with any issues of going to the halls. Kids just get their friends to end their pass or let it go overtime with no repercussions. also bad for kids with disabilities because they have the same standard of time to be gone.
They put time limits on everything, and students always have to wait. It feels more like slow traffic than smooth, flow. It feels like you're always being watched, because you are, your every move is just being watched. The only good reason I can think of is troublemakers who we need to track down! And at my school, Smartpass has no benefits whatsoever.
Gives students no freedom to make smart responsible choices for themselves. i was stuck in a classroom because the system was down. Unless you want to turn your school into a dictatorship and make the students depressed, i recommend you stay away from this and give students the opportunity to be responsible. Don't punish everyone because a small number of students can't handle walking to the bathroom. Instead, give them separate punishment.
When ever I have to go to the bathroom to Poop myself I'm rushed because I HAVE TO GO IN FIVE MINUTES (tell me anyone, WHO goes poops in 5 MINUTES???) Anyways i know it's a "safe" pass but still, 2 stars.

I have to sign in to go to the bathroom this is outrageous because if I have to go i need to make a smart pass which is very unhealthy
